Drew Karpyshyn's Opinion?

Is there any way we can reach out to him to get his thoughts on the ME ending? He's not affiliated with Bioware anymore, so maybe he'll open up?

He wrote ME, ME3 was made by other writer, it had a bad ending.
I'm starting to see a pattern here.

What is the rumor? I want to know what he was planning. Although I have mixed feelings about Drew after his SWTOR Jedi Knight storyline (which was terrible).

People said "ME2" sucked too. Hell, some of the same people I now see championing Drew Karpyshyn and his writing.
I'm pretty sure he left writing ME2 halfway to go to some other project. Am I right or wrong here?

I believe that he was the lead writer of ME1 and a writer for ME2, but not the lead writer.

Doesn't matter. People conveniently forget that "ME2" was villified on these boards for more or less the exact same reasons as "ME3".

Uh...no. In fact, the last time I remember anyone daring to criticize the game (a user named Smudboy), he was vilified and trashed by diehard fans. I've never seen anyone complain about the game beyond the silly concept of a Human Reaper. Even Arrival had a bunch of supporters.
In contrast, almost everyone loves ME3 right up to the ending. That's where the bulk of the complaints come from.

I remember those rants, something like "the story is too short cuz i skipped all the loyalty missions", or "no one died in my suicide mission".

Wasn't it made by Obsidian?

I'd really like to see some feedback from Karpyshyn.

You can clearly chart the positives and negatives of ME's story by whether or not Drew wrote them.
I made a post when Drew was moved to the TOR team asking if it had something to do with conflict over the direction of ME. People called me a conspiracy theorist.
Now he's quit BioWare, and ME3 drops. What do you say now?
I firmly believe that EA gave BioWare new directions that they had to take the ME series in midway through the development of ME2, and this caused Drew to resign as lead writer, because he wouldn't compromise. So EA promoted Mac Walters, and he has murdered Mass Effect.

Indeed, I don't trust my tact or elegance or I would drop him a line. Perhaps someone could ask him for a short interview and post it up here?

I have a feeling that this is probably pretty close to how things actually transpired.
Speaking of the good parts of ME2, does anyone know who was responsible for writing which characters?

Quite. Obsidian, nee Black Isles Studios, made KOTOR 2. Just look at the box.

I guess that would exlain the rather different... "fee" of Mass Effect 2 and 3. I don't want to condemn it on overyone's behalf, but I felt the seconds two games were jsut so much more claustrophobic so to speak. Not just darker in content, but all-in-all I felt as though the charm was lost so to speak. No game since ME1 has made me feel the same sense of awe or scale.

He worked on ME2 until they started production on SWTOR then he went to work on that.
