Miner spoiler ahead...
So in ME1, I romanced Ashley. All good there. No complaints. Then in ME2, she ditches me simply because I'm working with Cerberus, despite me explaining they are simply a means to an end. You'd think if she truly loved me, she'd be a little more understanding, but whatever. Being married for over 20 years in real life has taught me that women's minds are oft-times beyond the understanding of men. Perhaps she was just having a bad day?
So, since Ashley gave me the cold shoulder, I opted to romance Miranda (and probably would have anyway since I'm a huge Yvonne Strahovski fan). Fast forward to ME3 and there is absolutely no mention of my lover save for a quick comment from Ashley nearly 8 hours into the game. And then when we first meet up on the Citadel, no hugs or kisses or gleeful greetings. The only thing close to affection I could detect was a quick peck on the cheek after I supposedly reaffirmed our relationship (or was she just whispering in my ear?). Heck, I got a better greeting from Kelly the yeoman from ME2, down in the holding dock! At least I got a hug from her! Here I wait 8 hours to get back with my sweetheart and all I get is a possible, awkward peck on the cheek. Serious let down BW. I only hope things start making more sense from this point on.
BioWare writers need to read more romance novels

Well, you did cheat on her with Miranda. I'm surprised Ashley didn't punch you in the mouth. It seems that any romance option from ME1 automatically knows if you cheated on them in ME2 when importing to 3, hence the kind of aloof and unaffectionate behavior.
I romanced Kaiden in ME1, then went to Garrus in ME2 and after Kaiden ended up in the hospital, he eventually asked if Garrus and I were serious, which I felt kinda bad about for a split second then remembered how much of Kaiden's character I dislike. The meeting with Kaiden seemed very awkward, even as they remained friends.

Ashley's behavior is understandable; I'm talking about Miranda.

I think the problem is that Bioware reads too much romance novels.

Oh Miranda, ok misunderstood. That does sound off, but then Miranda's personality always seemed to be constantly shifting for me.

I think it would be enough if writers played ME1 and ME2. Maybe they'd understand why they made stupid ending.
