It's good to know I'm not the only one feeling so bummed and sad about the ending. I had planned to finish all my imports then delete all my saves and start from scratch playing 1-3. But now...I don't know I'm jush bleh. I played some cod and then convinced myself that maybe I should try 3 again with imported me3 shep and see if I get the "secret ending" but playing just the first little bit depressed me more cause I know the ending is nothing good for shep and the gang...so now I'm just stuck.

KoAR is a great game, you should really get a kick out of that one.

I was playing it before ME3 came out. Plot's a little bland, gameplay's a little grindy, but it's like Fable 3 if Fable 3 didn't suck and had elements of Dragon Age: Origins. **** yeahs. Also it's the first game by the new game studio in my home state, also something to be happy for.

I liked KoAR it wasn't a super crazy best game ever but it never presented itself as such and I never felt my soul getting crushed.

Give up gaming? No, however I learned a valuable lesson: Never pre-order a game.

not give up gaming forever.

just dont feel like playing any games right now.......

Eh, we'll have to disagree on that. All the depressing ME3 ending did for me was make me uninstall all my ME games to make space for other games, like reinstalling Skyrim, Deus EX Human Revolution, Fallout New Vegas, etc.

I did keep my save games for ME, a friend convinced me to undelete them and give Bioware a chance to respond to the fans before tossing them for good. However, short of a free DLC to change the ending accompanied by a big fat apology to the fans, I don't see myself revisiting Shepard's story.

I'm the kind of gamer who prefers uplifting, positive games, not the kind where the hero dies, everybody dies, game over. That's just my personal preference though, If I hadn't pre-ordered, or even just allowed myself to be spoiled and canceling my pre-order, I wouldn't have bought a game that I won't be playing ever again.

Future games (bioware of otherwise) simply won't be pre-ordered. I'd rather be spoiled than screwed.

I have been so sad since finishing the game. Hurts my heart to even think about it! Then I start feeling even worse because I feel this attached to a fictional character from a video game. Going to find a synthesis beam to jump into :/

I'm just upset that we get that 2-4 minute ending after being lifted up into the AI/reaper god area or w/e and exhausting all the dialogue options. Its crazy. I still cant believe it. That can't be it. It can't be.

Exactly.

I liked it better than Skyrim, actually. So far, it's my favorite game of 2012. But then, I've only played two games that actually came out in 2012. And KoAR > ME3 just because of that ending.

And hey, at least the plot MAKES SENSE. And can end happy.

I've never felt this depressed over a game b4. I also don't feel like playing any of my games anymore. And definitely don't feel like playing ME ever again, unless the fix the endings.

I'm also mad at myself for getting sucked into all the hype of the ME universe. 5 years of dedication reduced to rubble... :crying:

Well, I for one am definitely going to game in order to get my mind off of this craptastic ending. I never did play AC:Brotherhood or AC: Revelations, and I've heard good things about those games, so I'm downloading, (legally, after buying before people jump all over me), Brotherhood right now.

Well Assasin's Creed makes you put up with way more bull**** than Mass Effect, maybe that's why the endings didn't ****** me off like other people :P

Yeah, plot is a little bland, but its an open world. Screw the plot, just go do missions.

And the plot does get better, IMO. Pretty good wrap-up and you can keep playing afterwards.

And AC- yeah, the whole thing is mystic science fiction mumbo jumbo as far as plot, so I accepted that, and just try to wrap my head around the thing. ME was never about that until the ending.

I said a year ago posting a topic in here, that there was something past the Reapers, after hearing Harbinger say "We are your salvation through desctruction."

I've never been more mad to have been right. They could even have done that, make the Reapers not the ultimate be all and end all, and done it awesomely. But no.

I think I'm done with Bioware games unless this is fixed. Just no faith anymore. It was a great game, but the ending just sucked the life out of the entire series. I had seven Shephards set up and ready to go, (I was already crying inside thinking of my Shep who has Thane as her LI, since the first one I took through was Garrus/FemShep), and now I have no intention of even taking broshep through once. Let him just stay happy. And not dead and/or split up from the entire rest of his party.

Why did Shep just meekly accept what the Guardian told her? Her entire life was fighting against people that told her it was impossible, then when the Guardian basically tells her its impossible to beat the Reapers without also destroying the geth and EDI, she just backs down. And if that is the case, then why dont we also control the geth/EDI with the blue option? And why does having a higher military strength unlock those endings in the first place? I feel like I need a ME support group, lol.

And what the heck happened to the dark energy plotline? It's never addressed.

Indeed. Feels like we're all in mourning :(  Whatever you do, don't listen to the soundtrack as you read through the forums. Utterly depressing.

I suggest anyone feeling "down" do something to make themselves feel better. I wrote a whole new ending to Mass Effect 3 in a script and posted it on the forums. If anyone asks I'll post a link to the thread.

I'm attempting to do a playthrough of ME2 as an Adept after always playing a Solider (because, despite all this ****, I love watching the team work together at the end and come out alive...you know, the happy ending. The rewarding one). Now that I know I can safely romance Kelly to get the fish without cheating on Liara, I'll bite the bullet and do that. Also, I think I missed out on Mordin singing the song in 2, so it didn't show up in 3.

After that, a final playthrough of ME3 because I didn't get TIM to kill himself.

Then, I'll be giving my own creative writing efforts a shot. I haven't written anything beyond research papers for years now, but I feel that I need to create my own world instead of buying into someone else's for them to disappoint me and take it all away.

thanks man I saved the thread to a bookmarks bar. will get something to eat and read it or take a nap... cant believe im feeling like this. I guess the whole "its just a game!!" should be taken more seriously for me.

It cant be an art form or a movie/book....

UNLESS Bioware is just messing with us and free DLC is on the way.

I'll echo along with the rest of you: I'm feeling the same way. In whatever spare time I've had I've been playing nothing but ME1 & 2 for the last couple months to gear up for this... and I'm just done, with everything, for a good long while.

Combined, I've done dozens of playthroughs of ME1, ME2, DAO, DAA and DA2. I never finished Crysis 2, Fallout 2, the Witcher, or Mirror's Edge (just wasn't motivated enough). I was hoping to try Fallout 3 or Skyrim. I decided to wait, after how much I spent pre-ordering the ME3 CE, and now... I don't think I'll be bothering any time soon.

I honestly wish I hadn't let myself get this emotionally invested, but I enjoyed it for so long, and it seemed so great, I just never thought it could end this way. And I could hold out and hope that maybe they'll fix it and give us some satisfaction, but I'm not about to let them string me and my FemShep along like that for a second time.

If I ever manage to convince myself to try another playthrough, I'm stopping it right as Shep and Anderson sit down to enjoy the view on the Citadel. Beyond that, I'll just have to make up my own ending. I'll probably even turn the difficulty way down, because what's the fun in a challenge when you know you can't win?

@Leyawin - Uggh, I read your warning too late. I just tried to listen to some of the soundtrack, thinking that at least the music was good and maybe I can enjoy that, but I got to the second track, Leaving Earth (the soft piano tune, when the kid and the shuttles are destroyed), and I flinched so bad when the reaper "blared" that I had to stop it. Too soon, I guess.

Yeah I feel the exact same way OP. I've just been looking at these forums and listening to a random playlist of Mass Effect music all the way from 1 to 3. When this song hit...I just...stopped everything. My mind drifts back to the endings and as I watched Shepard's LI leave Normandy...I just had a feeling Shepard would never see her again. I'm holding onto the hope that the endings will be changed for the better very soon...otherwise I may never get emotionally invested in another game or series ever again. I'm just...drained.:(
