Due to my nerdrage about the endings, I have watched quite a few of them on the interwebs to see if theres any differences (There aren't). But one thing I did notice was once you choose one of the endings, Joker Anderson and Liara appear. It appears to be the same for everyone though, not just those who chose Liara as their LI. Anyone else notice this?

I was fortunate in that this made sense for my contrived ending, since my Shep romanced Liara.

From what I understand, Liara happens regardless of LI (though I think maybe Ashley or Kaidan show up if you romanced them?). I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like for the people who didn't romance Liara or just despised her throughout the series. Final punch in the gut, I guess?

My Shepard was a close friend to Liara, but I romanced Garrus, so seeing her was kind of weird.

At first I thought it was unique to my game, Liara being my Shepard's LI and all. But seeing that it's in all endings just reinforces the laziness of the ending.

If I'm not mistaken, the third person is Ashley/Kaidan if you romanced them, or Liara otherwise.

Liara is apparently the intended or "default" love interest. From what I hear, the third person was supposed to be your love interest, but they couldn't fit them all in and decided on this at the last minute. Sounds strange to me.

Truth is, it was a glitch. The last person you are supposed to see is your LI, but they ended up just scrapping it and putting Liara in. Although I believe Kaidan and Ashley will still show up if you romanced them.

Was quite confused that there was no Miranda there, but since her romance was pretty much garbage in Mass Effect 3 it's no surprise. Which is kind of odd, considering all the flack they got from the Kaiden and Ashley fans for Mass Effect 2, that they would do the same thing to the fans of the Mass Effect 2 squad mates. Though even worse for the Fem Shep players who romanced Thane or Jacob.

The ending my wife had was Joker, James and then Kaiden out of the shuttle. Hard to repopulate the planed that way.

Well, in my case Joker, Ashley (my LI) and EDI jumped outside the crashed Normandy, for the Paragon, 2 handles choice... Joker, Ashley and Vega for my Renegade 'shoot-the-conduit' choice...

Go figure...

My flashbacks were Anderson, Joker and Kaidan, my LI, and then on the planet, Joker and Kaidan made it out of the Normandy. Presumably someone else too (Liara?), but I didn't notice because I was too upset about the ending/"endings".

Joker and Anderson were with you from the beginning.. It's fitting you'd see them at the end.

If Ashley was your LI you'd get her as a flashback. The only squadmate flashback movies they have on disc are for Ash/Kaiden and Liara. They should have put more on there, but they didn't.

Joker's been by Shepard's side, believing in them since ME1. Anderson is Shepard's mentor.

And Liara is... Liara...

...Yes, I know she's the whole reason Shepard's alive again in ME2, but still, I would've preferred to see Garrus.

I really don't like that they kinda force Kaiden/Liara/Ashley on us. I don't like either of the three very much , the best beeing probably Kaiden as a bro. Even in ME1 i would've wanted to romance Tali hell i would've taken Wrex over Ashley/Liara if possible and i'm not even into all the gay stuff. But at least that character was likeable for me.

Well, I didn't get Liara...
My femshep romanced Liara in ME1, didn't do shadowbroker (for the one I imported) in ME2, and turned down Liara is ME3 and romanced Traynor in ME3 instead.

The ending I got Joker, Traynor, and Garrus as the third person, so no Liara at all, though Garrus was with me when I was running to the beam too so no clue how he made it to the ship...

Yeah, I realized that this was about the three flashbacks, and it did make more sense that they were the ones that have been the since the beginning as mandatory characters that you've been with. I think Garrus was an optional squad member in ME1, so when it all boils down, these are the three that's been there since ME1 that doesn't require player preferences/decisions.

Not what comes out of the Ship thats allways your LI , Joker and someone from your Squad that has been with you at the end. But in the flashback when you start the ending sequence. You'll see Anderson/Joker and Liara/Kaiden/Ash if none of those had been your LI it'll be Liara regardless.

For some reason Javik leaves the normandy for me alongside Tali and Joker for some reason even if i don't take him with me on my last mission.

the three I saw coming out of the ship were Joker, Kaidan and Garrus (really random cuz i never used him at all)

I wonder if they were the only survivors or what... that whole scene with the Normandy was confusing as hell

in the flashback i saw kaidan, joker and anderson though
