No, no, no. You can't just give them money and then tell them "But don't keep screwing us over because otherwise we won't give you money". You're still rewarding them for doing exactly what you're scolding them for.
Why miss out on the great DLC because you want to teach a company a lesson it won't change?

Games being released in beta states / blatantly rushed and DLC invasions are the main gripes.

You sound like a person in an abusive relationship, but likes the lifestyle your partner provides you too much. He is always treating you bad, hitting you, but always give you a shiny thing or a new car for your problems. You need to respect yourself as a customer and stop being kicked around just so you can get 30 minuts more of gameplay you already have the right to play.

Because some people don't like being lied to and have self-respect as consumers.

Come on , don't tease them. Just keep a good argument and we can stay here.
The good thing about being right is that you don't need to make the other guy feel wrong, they will make themselves feel stupid while trying to help a company that doesn't acknowledge them.

You are absolutely right, their are far more concerning issues out there. Gaming is just a luxury at the end of the day............which is why its totally okay to unlock on disc DLC content that you already purchased once and dont have to pay for it again.

How is that a PR nightmare?
As far as I know from the various comments I read, you don't have access to the mission on Eden Prime which proves that the character model was ready at this time and is in no way a surprise since it has to be one of first things being worked on with voice acting. It means that the main content of the DLC was still being worked on at this time, which is exactly what BW always claimed.

No, they didn't. They claimed the DLC was being developed seperate from the main game, the reason why it was going to be sold as a DLC. The fact that the functioning model and the party chat banter is in there shows that it was developed with the game, side by side.
And also there were already early reports from people who tweaked around with the code and there were lost of hints that the DLc was part of the game original content and it was taken out after done.

Given that the actual mission isn't on the disc kind of disproves that they developed it at the same time...They had dialogue done but the actual mission was still in production when everything was locked down...
You're assuming that voice acting is concurrent with mission and level design..It's not.

Could you explain how both statements are exclusive?
Main team was working on the game, a second team on the DLC about at the same time. The second team had the character model ready to be added to the game assets but still had to complete the mission on Eden Prime.
You guys want so hard to blame the devs that you're going to be blind to the most easiest explanation.

OR the Eden Prime mission was completed and was removed for DLC packaging while the character was left in for testing.
There are a hundred different possible ways this could have panned out, and there is no way to concretely prove one is right over the other without watching what happened inside the bioware offices and we all know that is not going to happen.

Theory: What you stated. Assumed that they only had some parts of the character on disc and DLCed that rest for future download.
Fact.: The developers stated that there was nothing on disc and that it was completely standalone besides the game. If content that is ON THE DISC is incomplete, then you PATCH it, not realease the remaining data and charge it for $10.

The mission is not on the disk and was likely developed after the game went into certification. They included the character on the disk because he has dialogue and **** during the main game and he was likely developed along side that to keep it all together.
That's better.
Except that the leaked info from last year included the character's mission. Another point that can produce more assumptions about what happened.
