Isn't there a mass relay on Ilos that takes you right to the Citadel? You know, the conduit? That's how Saren got there, that's how Shepard got there. Why not use it again? Why did Shepard have to stage a land assault at London? How does it make any sense?
Why go to London, why not go to Illos?

If I remember correctly the Conduit was basically a one shot deal, it became inoperable after ME1.
You honestly think the Council would leave it operational after the Geth used it to drop troops directly into the Presidium? They would have ordered it dismantled at once.

Yeah, I was thinking just that too. Seriously, huge plot holes after the assualt on the Cerberus base. However, it was mostly forgivable...until the last 5 minutes of the game.

But aren't the relays indestructible? As in you'd have to blow up Ilos?

Well, if the relay on the presidium is unable to be dismantled, it's small enough they could move it. They sure as heck wouldn't leave it there, after the Geth used it to invade.

Didn't they specifically refer to disabling that thing in ME2? I seem to remember that happening.
