How is Dog special?

But I also realize that there is alot of things in game that we dont get to see. So is there anything special about Dog that makes him more useful than his numbers show? I know he runs faster than most of the other characters. But what else?

Other than that, I'm not sure that he's worth having in the party since you give up dialogue. Does the dog ever interrupt cut-scenes like others do?

Also, don't forget he can use 'landmarks' to get a heafty buff.

Overwhelm is nice... just wish you could get it sooner

And since dog doesn't get skill choices like others do how does the game decide how many tactics slots he gets? More is better if you plan on turning him into a Mage Seeking Missile. Or archers for the fact. Im tempted to just forcing myself to use him just sucks he deosnt have better gears...

I wish the dog had been given the option to learn stealth though. That way a rogue could have a full stealth party for some of the rogue missions if they chose.

I noticed that compaired to other "human" equipment in the game, i have yet to find any dog gear that is remotely as good. Not to mention he only gets two items.

The gear really dosen't seem to be comparable. My dog does great damage over time with his +6 damage +6 armor collar and war paint upgrades, that's the beauty of him, and shale. Less fuss. Do less thinking, and more playing and you'll see, after a few lvl ups.

(Main's a rogue, I use alistair/shale, wynne/morrigan and then one of the others depending on how I want to flavour the group)

2. Dog is strong early in the game. Later on, he gets weaker due to lack of equipment and talents.
3. There is some funny dialogue banter with your party members about Dog when he is in your party.
4. Shale is stronger than Dog and much more flexible (Melee/Ranged vs just Melee)
5. Dog and Shale can have all their talents maxed out before game's end. Dog does this earlier than anyone because it has so few.
