- I saved jack and her biotics... I expected to see them play a part in the final battle, protecting human troops as they advance with biotic shields.... and if I didn't acquire them, the guys advancing would die. or if I chose to have them specialize in biotic cannon, they would take out an important target, but maybe die or let more of my troops die... nope. they are completely absent from the battle and my previous choice to have them specialize in biotic shields didn't even matter at all
- I saved the entire krogan race, expected shock troops... edi even mentions the logistics of moving so many krogans from Tuchanka to the battle. what do I get at the final battle? Wrex leading maybe 40 krogans... ???
- I saved the Rachni and they don't fight AT ALL in the final battle. I understand they helped to build the crucible but what, they're just going to sit on their hands after the construction is complete? no! they should have been there, fighting side by side with the krogans, as shock trooops...
- The geth don't show up at all to help on the ground to help. I thought I had aquired some elite primes squad to help me on the ground...
- The mercenary bands don't show up AT ALL to help... they aren't even mentioned in the cutscenes as part of the fighters. I expected Admiral Hackett to announce the mercenary ships joining the battle... nope. and no vorcha troops on the ground either.
- Special tasks group doesn't come into play at all.
- Zaeed is absent from the final battle, as is Jacob, etc etc
- I could go on but I'll just leave it here
2. the moment that the catalyst realized the previous solution no longer works, shouldn't he stop his reapers from fighting that very moment? if he commands the reapers, why let the reapers continue with unnecessary senseless destruction? the catalyst should give everyone a chance to have their say in the matter, not just shep making the decision on behalf of everyone...
3. your sqad mates don't follow you up the beam?
4. why not use the mass effect transport on ilos again to warp inside the citadel? why go to london at all?
5. shep needs to die in order to release the synergy beam? wtf? there is no way that anything that technologically complex needs an organic sacrifice to function.
6. All your squadmates except the 2 you choose to accompany you are twiddling their thumbs while you fight. we don't have any explanation for what they are doing while you are pushing ahead to secure the missiles. bioware could fix this by having us break apart your remaining guys into teams, similar to mass effect 2, so at least they can sort of help out insdead of being 'on the bench'. it just feels wrong.
7. no proper, good-feeling denouement... we don't get to see the partying after the battle. we don't get to see wrex and his babies... we don't get to see tali enjoying her homeworld... come to think of it, with the relays destroyed, the entire migrant fleet will be cut off from their homeworld. wrex can't make it back to Tuchanka in his lifetime, nor can Tali make it back to her homeworld in her lifetime either
8. and finally, if the purpose of the reapers was to stop synthetics from dominating organics, why is there no evidence of synthetics leaving time capsules and information across cycles to help make super-strong synthetics that can stop the reapers? why don't the reapers just focus on killing the geth/synthetics and leave the organics alone or warn the organics not to ever make synthetics again?
