"While we appreciate the dedication and commitment our fans have shown over Mass Effect 3 and the series as a whole, We at Bioware stand by the Mass Effect team and our writers on their epic conclusion to a fantastic trilogy."
No one can beat the starchild and it's horrible choices. . .

I actually wouldn't be suprised if people who have just played the third one like the ending.JohnCena94 wrote...
Short of a massive over all of the ending, not much can make up for it. To clarify to all new mass effect players, the first two have far better endings.

i feel like, their anger is just turnung into depression. not many of the people I've seen are 'more open minded' about the endings.
agree, now i feel really tired and depress than anger about the way it end. i'm asking myself, why am i doing this to myself, just walk away, there are plent of good games out there. (at least Diablo 3 and Heat of the Swarm are coming this year, cheers!!

Why didn't we meet and kill TIM at his base? Why? That was a long time coming - writing him into the "Catalyst" sub-plot the way BW did it made the ending even worse.
We should've killed the Illusive Man. We should've used the Crucible, defeated the Reapers (or not), then had a DA:O-style ending showing us what differences our major choices ultimately made for the galaxy.
Not this crap. I've never seen an ending this atrocious - it butchers the entire ME series IMHO.
You blew it, Bioware. Big time.
I wouldn't have minded a DAO style ending. And if it would have cost too much to make scenes for all the different factors I wouldn't have minded something like the ME2 Genesis comic. Just have some art with a voiceover. I would have been 1000% satisfied with that (granted that the endings were actually satisfying)

Honestly, I'm half expecting the comment to be:
"Stop being homophobes please."
BioWare has being trying so hard to pin all Mass Effect 3 complaints on bigotry, to the point where they seem to have paid several major gaming sites for articles focusing on the vocal minority on metacritic.
I expect this as well. Since I think more people in society can relate to the hot-button issue that is homosexuality more than fans disappointed over an ending, I see them addressing this first, lumping those of us who hate the endings into the same category as the bigots and the Day 1 DLC complainers, then writing off all of us and dismissing it as "haters gonna hate."
I do like that some outside sites seem to be taking notice of issues beyond homophobia and Day 1 DLC.
A blog link from IGN that I think addresses the ending issue very well.

They've always been listening to us. The priceless jokes about Garrus calibrations or Shepard's dancing, or even Tali adapting to Shepard are all coming from the fans.
I just hope they keep listening.
And the VI...and the VI making a joke about "ammo."
lol
and Prothy the Prothean....oh gawd I love/dislike you Bioware :L

The more I hear about the endings from friends I made here, the less I want to play the game anymore, and that after shelling out almost 80 Euros for the Collector's Edition (my first, I might add, of any game I ever bought).
ME1 was fantastic, ME2 was also great, but ME3 was a complete gut-punch from start to finish (based on what I heard).
I never thought that i'd say this, but this was my last BioWare game, and i'll only stay on these boards because i've made a lot of friends here that I don't want to lose.

What is there to be open minded about?
That what we saw might have been a dream/hallucination, puts a whole different spin on the destroy ending where Shep starts breathing in the rubble.
Maybe Bioware will release the actual last part of teh game as free DLC....... I can only hope T_T
Thank you, I forgot about that.
I guess our best hope was that Shepard was knocked out after getting hit by Harbinger's attack and the whole time on the Citadel/Crucible was a hallucination or the Catalyst interacting with Shepard.
Although, why they wouldn't make that clear in the game is a bit perplexing.

1. "Dark Energy" Plot twist and ending (preferably with an option to live happily ever after with the Normandy Crew)
2. Model DLC pack of Tali with face visible. (And rework the fingers on her stock photo. I'm ok with the photo if her fingers were right.)
3. Chakram Launcher in Multiplayer.
4. Full action/button reassignment options.
That's it. Game's good otherwise.

i wonder if they really didn't see this response coming?
No, there's no way on Earth they couldn't have. I've been wondering if the ending we got on the disc is an elaborate hoax to avert leaks and spoilers from the script leak onwards, especially when it came to the pre-release piracy and the inevitable space edition leaks, and the game's actual ending is forthcoming as DLC through the Alliance network.
Developers and publishers have done more bizarre things to combat piracy and the resale market in the history of gaming.
I really think they didn't. At least, not in this amount. They mentioned that some people would love it and others would hate it.
I think they were going with the idea that a lot of people would be willing/understand Shepard sacrificing their life to save everyone. On the other hand I don't think they realized that they shouldn't have touched the Normandy crew/your squaddies. These are the characters people really got to know. In previous games and bit less in 3 Shepard was truely yours to control and be. Garrus, Tali, VS and everyone else were not. With them you loved them or hated them for what they were but you couldn't change them. So feelings were more solid about them. Because so much effort went into letting us have our choices Shepard wasn't really the best developed character (I don't think this is bad because I like my choices).
So had they had lots of Shep deaths but Normandy saves, I think there would be some groaning about not surviving but the lynch mob that is forming would be no where near the size it is now.
A heroic Sacrifice with a tearful good bye to your LI , your BBF whispering thank you as across the galaxy armies rejoice its finally over. Close out with Shepard talking... that kid again. The Kid asking does Shepard think this is best solution. Shepard saying its up to everyone else to find out but they deverse a chance to build their future whatever it may be .. the choice is in our hands. Roll Credits.. That would have been pretty damn good.. yeah you happy ending but to tear ful good bye to LI while "An End once and for all is playing"... Oh dear lord I might have cried.

I would bet on this too. The people who are so upset about how all this ended are the fans who started with the first game and carried it into the third.

I think the only complaints were that everyone was retcon'd to be bi. More of a narrative complaint then OMFG I HATE LGBT.

There's been plenty across the series, but with openly gay characters (like Cortez and now Kaidan for some people), peope were saying that was what ruined the game. I think it was more the people on Metacritic (the trolls, not legitimate users) who were slamming it because they thought Shepard was now definitively gay or bi.
I'm happy to see that even some people who took that stance (not to name names) have come out in support of the endings rather than beat the romance issue to death as the sole thing that killed the game.
Views on homosexuality and how it's presented in the game differ, but I think the endings are the much larger issue everyone can rally behind. I just hope we can present it that way.

This.
Javik's an okay guy and all, I mean I'd be pretty bitter too if I were the only living remainder of my species. But this firestorm over Cortez is a bit ridiculous I think. He's a pretty cool guy, he really is.
