In mass effect 2, one of the issues that bugged me the most was the fact that renegade decisions involved insulting and belittling your squadmates. Fortunately, the devs seemed to realize that good leaders are pragmatic in the field and refrain from being ****s to their subordinates, and squadmate coversations should not have paragon and renegade points tied to them nearly as much.

However... there's still one major issue that has me very frustrated, namely that calling the quarians out on attacking the geth when they achieved sentience is viewed as a paragon action. Seriously, wouldn't a renegade see that quarians wasting their ships on a war over their homeworld is incredibly shortsighted and fool hardy in light of a reaper invasion? Equally, isn'****** possible a renegade Shep would view the geth as potentially excellent allies and want to refrain from attacking them? Or couldn't a Renegade shep just draw no distictions between sentients, whether they're metal or flesh? this is one of those topic which should be pure reputation points rather than paragon or renegade. reasons for holding different views can vary too much.

Renegades are only concerned about being horrible monsters at every chance, and paragons are concerned with being stupidly idealistic at every turn

It's pet the puppy or kick it.

That is the choice in a Bioware game.
