Anytime I go to the Mission Summary screen, the Citadel mission "Improved Power Grid" (already completed) is highlighted. This means I have to scroll up through a couple dozen listings to get to the active missions. Anyone else experience this or know of a fix? I remember ME2 having a similar issue with the Upgrade list always defaulting to the Thanix Cannon.

I have the same problem, and I think I know why.
The issue was (for me) the quest auto-completed itself. I never talked to the person to hand in the power grid info. I'm not sure when it completed itself, but since I definitely scanned the "improved power grid" data, I can assume it completed right there. I only realised I had this bug when I went to Pugatory to hand the quest in, and I couldn't talk to the woman. So I opened my journal and the cursor was on the "Citadel: improved power grid" assignment, but it was complete.
Ever since then, every single time I open the journal it has defaulted to this assignment. It's very annoying later on in the game, since this particular assignment takes place early in the game and there are many quests that stack on top of it.

Well I completed the quest by handing over the item to the woman in Purgatory.I think the problem here is that the journal never really removes the "new" tag for this quest,so it defaults to it.

Also affected. And as Batviper said, it seems as if for less than a second the tag "New" is shown for this finished quest...

Also having this problem. It only happens after I have loaded into a new area, and I have to scroll all the way up through dozens of completed quests to get to my active quests.

Playing on PC, I have the same issue as well. I sort the Missions alphabetically, so it's usually no big deal as it stays near the top of the list, but I stil have to scroll up through the one or two dozen quests that are above it.
Oddly enough, the sorting also seems to revert to "Sort by Newest" at the same time, whenever I go through a loading screen.

I have this problem as well. I just hit 'Y' as soon as I go into the journal to re-sort the list and it brings me back up to the top. No scrolling needed.

Just throwing my two cents in here: I've run into this issue as well. I didn't even notice it at first, but with more and more quests showing up in my log, having to scroll all the way back to the top has gotten rather annoying. That said, I think I did complete this quest "correctly" - I turned it in to the woman in Purgatory, it didn't complete on it's own. Also, it does seem to be defaulting to this entry upon entering a new zone, like others have said.

Just want to bump this and say I'm having the same issue. And it doesn't just happen after the quest is completed, I have it active right now and it defaults to that option.
