To me the worst kind of person is the one who calls others the worst kind of people. I hope this thread gets locked because this is a direct attack on the community as a whole.

No matter how you want to spice it up OP, you're just as bad as the people you are disclaiming. Because YOU are the one with the problem, not us.

I can understand and sympathize with the people who don't like the endings, I can understand and sympathize with those who are feeling railroaded and their decisions not mattering, and in fact it infuriates me. But I can't understand and sympathize with those who would call people the lowest common denominator. You remind me of a meme of a spoiled brat sitting at a table with another child and yelling "STOP LIKING WHAT I DON'T LIKE!"

It's pathetic really, pathetic that you can't just accept that people like different things.

The worst part of the anti-Cerberus railroading is that it makes the control ending completely nonsensical given the context of Shepard spending the whole game telling TIM to go F himself and herping and derping about how s/he wants to destroy the reapers no matter what. It makes fighting Cerberus completely counterproductive.

I disagree, TIM would have used them to conquer while Shepard would force them to leave.  Remember when Samara tells Shepard that TIM doesn't have the self control to use the base, that iss basically what it comes down to.  Granted though, a renegade might decide that they are going to find a way to rule the galaxy, and in which case you would be right, but I see no way to do this in game.

Gotta say, reading through your rant is almost as bad as rewatching the ME3 endings. And that's saying something.

I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favorite post in the thread.

So... you've just insulted the 97% who didn't like the ending? Grow up.

I never posted here until I finished the game. I loved it but the last 10 minutes ruined everything for me.

GodWood... a PURE Deus Ex Machina! Is a total plot hole! It means the writers wrote themselves into a hole, had no idea how to get out and BAM! Lets literally make a god from the machine(s).... He will sort this **** out!

Its pathetic, and something I would expect from ancient greeks who had no idea where lightning came from. This was a sci-fi trilogy... It 100% should not have ended like this. This is the kind of ending I would expect from a crappy anime! 0% writing talent went into the ending, I am sorry.

Yup.

More specifically I criticized the reasoning behind why 97% disliked the endings.

Something the majority of the posters in this thread have seemed to miss (not particularly suprising)

Grow up.

That's my response to the majority who are crying in their pillows because Bioware didn't let them play Ciderella with their space husbando/waifu.

This is true. I was surprised that my renegade Shepard (who tried to set up an all-human council ruling over the other races) was railroaded into being against TIM's plan to control the reapers. Kind of out of character for him.

I don't need a happy ending. In Dragon Age I sacrificed my Warden , because I did not trust my LI Morrigan with that kind of power.  The diffrence, that ending made sense.

I agree with the op, to the point that many things (including but not limited to the cerberus railroad, and the hilariously ineffectual and non-threatening reapers) were wrong with the game.

But those could have been compensated by the truly great moments in between - the endings cannot. They're by no means the only issue, but the most glaring, the most painful.

To an extent. With Shepard, it's somewhat justifiable on the grounds that, even throughout ME1 and ME2 he has always opposed the Reapers. TIM's plan doesn't call for controlling the Reapers to destroy them. It calls for manipulating the Reapers to advance humanity even farther, which is kind of a sideways goal from what Shepard has always been about.

Criticizing the writing. Well done.

Now so long as you don't chuck a hissy fit because it wasn't "happy/bright/whatever" enough you'll be better then the herd.

Not exactly, my renegade Shepard used the reapers to his advantage in moving humanity towards dominance in ME1 (he let the Ascension die in Sovereign's attack in order to give humanity the chance to seize power) and he'd only be too happy to do it again.

That's not true for Renegade Shepard. S/he can flat out say in ME1 s/he killed the council to empower humanity, not to mention the whole point of becoming a spectre in the first place was to advance human interests.

Christ, I've always had a low opinion of the majority of the ME fanbase but these "ending threads" have lowered it to a point I didn't think was possible.

You're not alone with this.
While I stick with my statement that the Normandy's fate was either unexplained or nonsensical (along with the teleporting squad), I did like the ending, and these ending threads are actually making me going back to my exile, just like they did before the release.
Man, I love that the ending we got is actually serious.
I do agree with a lot of points in your post. Still, you'll go down in flames, be preapared for that. But you aren't alone out there.
But I wouldn't say the majority of the fanbase is "bad". That's a harsh statement.
Let's just say we have a bunch of really, really, really loud people out there who are really, really, really vocal about everything that doesn't please their juvenile ego.
It was always like this. If you do create something, some whiners will appear.

But which still resulted in their destruction. It was essentially about making the best of a bad decision. Shepard's primary concern has always been with being a Reaper killer, whether it called for Paragon and Renegade actions. But TIM doesn't want to kill Reapers, he wants to manipulate them.

The majority who LIKED the endings.
But that "majority" is actually a minority who feel about the endings.
Make sense?
