I don't know jacob liive in all my saves but my guess brynn dead if jacob is dead.

I remember Bioware stating that if a character is dead in an ME2 save there is a possibility that their story will be dropped altogether and I'm willing to guess that this is the case with this one.

Still I'd be interested to know about this as well just to satisfy my curiosity.

Pfft. Every dead squadmate I had in my playthrough just got replaced with someone else for their part in the story.

Admiral Raan shot herself when I chose the Geth. Kirrahe died for the Salarian councilor. A random Spectre gave me Kasumi's mission. And a quick googling confirms that Brynn is the Cerberus scientist I was thinking of and I can tell you that the Cerberus geek squad and families join the crucible project. Beyond that I can't say because I haven't done it with him alive, so I don't know what his part in the mission was supposed to be.

jacob was dead for me. i think there was a mission where you rescue some female doctor from an EX-Cerb base being attack by Cerb, wanting them dead for their defiance.

was that suppose to be jacobs mission?

Yeah. When playing it I did notice how it would be easy to just not have him there and have it still work the same.
