I'm not there in the game yet, but a guide says that if you have 4000-5000 then you can save Anderson, and if you have 5000 or more then you cannot - and that doesn't really add up to me.
So I'm quite curious if anyone has managed to save Anderson from dying. Any help?

I think it's based on reputation

He always dies in order to get the extra scene you must have passed all dialouge checks with the illusive man.
I was able to get it with 2 instead of 3. I can't say with certainty if it's possible to get it other than that.

Rating 4000-5000 - If Shepard destroys the Reapers and "saves" Anderson, Shepard
will also live as Earth is saved.
Rating 5000+ - If Shepard destroys the Reapers and does not "save" Anderson,
Shepard will also live as Earth is saved.
So apparently saving him from the quick TIM death is a bad thing if you have a high readiness?
Strange. O.o

I don't understand, my reputation is up to max since half the game, and i can't use paragon / renegade on TIM just after he pick Anderson gun... did i miss something?
u have to have used every single paragon/renegade option when talking to TIM throughout the game... sometimes there are hidden ones u have to get by asking the question on the left side of the dialogue wheel to get to a point where u can use the blue/red options

also i think this is a typo cause when i did it i had 5000+ ems and when TIM points the gun at anderson i got a renegade interrupt which i used and i shot TIM before he killed anderson. I then got the little scene at the end. I think it means if u have 4000-5000 u need to use this interrupt to get the scene but if u have over 5000 then its not necessary

You mean i cant adress him by mixing paragon or renegade? it's either one all the way or the other?

No, there's none of that this time around. You can use intimidate and charm interchangeably. I lost my chance to make him commit suicide because I didn't choose the "You're wasting time" option on the left side to open up the intimidate and charm options waaaaay back on Mars. I believe just about every direct face to face contact is supposed to have those options and you need to nail every single one.
At OP, if you fail to get TIM to commit suicide you can also stop him if you hit a renegade interrupt before he can shoot Anderson. According to what I've read, if you don't use the intimidate and charm options during the final confrontation, his conversation is apparently a lot longer and he's supposed to force you to shoot Anderson or something. Haven't tried that last part out or seen it on YouTube yet.
