So all these species have all these colonies spread all over right? So why are their populations so tiny? If they've got so many worlds theyve settled on, why does it seem like earth or thessia is such a big deal? We're suppose to be saving trillions of people, but then they make it seem like 11 billion people is every human ever?

The populations aren't tiny. We also don't see every colony/planet.
Also every species doesn't breed like humans. The Asari having 5 billion seems about right. They live longer and don't have kids every 2 years. The Elcor world has about 2 billion. They don't like change and only live on a small part of their world.

Those numbers are so small... It just seems like these people have no sense of scale.
