Strange... I did mention Kai Leng in the conversation with her holographic image (to which she acknowledges) in the Spectre Req. office, as well as agreeing to give her full access to alliance resources when meeting her in the apartment room - and yet she dies in Sanctuary on my playthrough. I managed to talk Mr. Lawson down, Miranda blasts him through the shattered glass before falling over and dying soon after.
I completed her loyalty mission and she was my love interest in ME2, but I ended things with her in ME3 during the first meeting at the docking bay. She walks off at that point without mentioning anything about her sister until much later. Could breaking up with her be the cause of her death? Though, someone mentioned that Miranda was able to survive Sanctuary even though he (the player) broke up with her.

ME2: Didn't romance Miranda, chose Jack.
ME2: Completed Miranda's loyalty mission.

ME3: Warned Miranda about Kai Leng.
ME3: Chose Paragon option.

Miranda still died from wounds.

I'll probably keep a savestate from before horizon, because I kept everyone alive from the suicide mission in ME2. I wanted to keep everyone aline in ME3, but I'm thinking that the ME2 & ME3 Jackmance might force Miranda to die.

Just realized that I was never invited to a room in the Presidium Commons to talk to her.  I've been reading her email and told her about Kai Leng.  I never received any email or communications to give her Alliance tech in the Presidium.

Luckily, I still had a save before I started Horizon.  I went back to the Presidium, and Miranda was there, even though I didn't get anything about meeting her there.  Gave her the Alliance tech, so, I'm guessing she'll live now.

So I thought I did pretty well on my first playthrough, despite having totally forgot about grissom academy and missed the entire mission. Anyway, during my time on these forums raging about the ending, I've come across a few threads where people said that miranda lived during the events of the sanctuary mission. This surprised me since I thought it was unavoidable, since it didn't seem to me like I had missed anything or done anything wrong during the mission.

So what are the criteria to keep miranda alive?

She survived in my playthgrough. My Paragon was maxed out, and I had been giving her paragon answers from every conversation we had. She was NOT my LI from ME2, I stayed loyal to Ashley. I had a Paragon option when I was talking to her Dad, that allowed me to talk him down, and then Miranda, zapped him and walked away. She became one of my war assets.

It has nothing to do with romance, only loyalty. If you warn her about kai leng and visit her apartment and give her access to alliance intel then use the paragon option at the end she should be alive.

See, that's the thing. She was especially loyal to me in ME2, but I broke her heart and she hadn't told me about her sister early on when we first met. I did fulfill the other 2 criteria. At Sanctuary though, she was already beat up when I confronted the three of them in the room. Selecting Paragon (maxed out) leads to her killing her father, but she still does not survive her encounter with Kai Leng.

Loyal in ME2, plus warning and giving access and all that. I doubt you need to romance her to save her, though I did and am glad she's alive sort of, but not really, even in the game world.

I think you have to have all three conversations with her on the Citadel. The first one at the docks, the second one in the Spectre offices and the third one in the apartments on the Presidium. Warn her about Kai Leng and give her access to Alliance intel and she will live, I'm guessing.

I'll give this game a second complete playthrough to see if she makes it out alive this time. Man, how troublesome.

i had the same problem, you have to romance her in me3 for her to survive. cause in this play though i romanced ashley and warned miranda and everything, but she still died

Just a question here but since Miranda says early on in ME3 that she quit Cerberus and since she's concerned about her sister, why doesn't she give Shepard some data on The Illusive Man. Why doesn't she say, "Hey Shepard, I'm going to go do something and I'll let you know if I need your help but by the way, I spent alot of time on the TIM's hiding place and I know EXACTLY where it is. Take this data which will tell you more than you ever wanted to know about everything I knew was going on and you'll also have the location of Cerberus's hidden HQ."

That would have saved quite a bit of time.

Me too I was nice to her, gave her the access and she lived I want to know how do I have Thane live or can't he? I also loose Kal I want to save him in past clips of ME3 I saw Kal was alive and breifing you in the war room yet he's always dying on Palvin how do I stop this?
