Well, the title says it all really but let me expand before this seems like another whine:

Champion
:
War Cry is fun, and the knockdown is handy, but compared to all the other things you'd rather do ( use abilities that actually do damage, as an example ) I find it somewhat underwhelming. Rally is not much better either, I'm afraid, as most of the time I barely seem to notice any difference in my group's power or survivability.

My verdict: Sure on the Roleplaying side it's cool to be the ''leader'' as the game paints this specialisation, but in the end all you seem to be is ''the guy who yells''...

Berserker
:
Berserk itself is ok-ish ( besides the part where it seems to turn itself off, somehow, but you might asell say your character can't be permanently ticked off ), however the rest of the ''tree'' is...odd? You spend the next two points not improving your core ability, but making it slightly less crippling. And then in the end you get Final Blow that is outclassed by most other abilities simply for the fact that it doesn't...well...drain all your flippin' Stamina?

Reaver:
Reaver is cool, there's no doubt about it, and I won't yap about it as it seems to be rather impressive. The only thing I don't get is how comes Reaver seems to be mostly a tanking specialisation, when the mere term ''Reaver'' derives from the verb ''to reave'' which is...well...plunder, sack and pillage? Even the enemy Reavers are all using two-handers or dual wielding: not one of them is using a shield.

Templar
:
You're a Holy Warrior. A Paladin of the Maker, if you will. Sworn to fight against those who wish to usurp the power of Magic for their own devious needs. That's all nice and fancy, it really is - and very inspiring, 'till you realise that your abilities aren't at all that impressive against a Mage compared to the things some others might be able to do ( Assassin sneaking up on a Mage? Doesn't last long. Mage versus Mage with Mana Clash? Splat. ). Righteous Strike seems to drain pretty much no mana whatsoever, either that or the enemies have more mana than you'd possibly ever imagine. Mental Fortress is ok-ish, but still rather single-minded ( no pun intended, really.. ). Cleanse Area has great potential, truly, were it not for the absurdly high Stamina cost and the fact that you get to use it once in a blue moon ( at least on Hard =x ). And the icing on the cake comes with Holy Smite! Which does...very little actually?

Anyone else noticing this? I'm finding Warriors really cool, and was aiming for a Champion/Templar build for my PC...but when I got it I found myself rather dissapointed. *shrug* Could be just me...

You found Reaver to be the most impressive? Seriously?

In my current playthrough I'm using DW with the Berzerker spec, and it's pretty nasty. He accounts for 70% of the party's damage, playing on Nightmare.

Well, Reaver at least seems to do something from where I'm standing. I still find the Specializations rather odd, though, especially compared to other classes. Rogues get awesome Specializations ( Assassin is incredible, Duelist aswell - though it should've totally been a Warrior one, Ranger is fun and Bard is extremely useful ), as do Mages ( with the exception of Shapeshifter... ).

So yeah, really dunno what to think here! =x

I disagree with you about Champion because it is obviously the best spec if your PC is a tank. Defense increase you get from rally is quite noticeable and War Cry can be very useful CC spell.  Never went Templar for RP purposes - I dislike the Chantry.

The only thing useful about Holy Smite is the knockdown effect which I used pretty much solely on Emissary's when they were getting ready to cast the most annoying spell of the game (Curse of Mortality).

I went Templar (it was my first play through) because it mainly sounded impressive (and I used Alistair a lot and figured that between us we'd easily be able to cut down most emissaries). I also hoped (ridiculously) that they could heal (at the time, too much WoW).

I was also a 2hand Templar and I think the amount Righteous Strike drains is proportional to the amount of damage you inflict. Although personally I'd rather Righteous Strike had an effect of 'igniting' the targets mana to cause additional damage, since that's what we're supposed to be, mage/demon hunters.
