ME3 has the best gameplay. ME the best story. ME2 has the best balance between the two. If ME3 had better endings, then ME3 would top it, with ME2 following behind.
Mass Effect 2 is by far the best game of the series does anyone else agree?

ME2 ending is the best ending to any RPG ive ever played. ME3 is just insulting.

Give Mass Effect 3 a proper ending and I could disagree.

If ME3 had ME2's ending... ME3 would win... HOWEVER. ME2 is the best and ME3 never came out. I don't know what this ending complaints are about... it's not out yet.. *fingers in ears* TROLOLOLOLOL

Imo ME3 does blow ME and ME2 out of the water. All up until the ending...which is probably why you didn't feel like replaying it KevWestBeats.com

I would say overall 2 is a little better than 3 for me. ME3 had the best combat and was overall really good, but ME2 had a few things that made it so special. ME3 was excellent and I was OK with the ending (unlike most people here apparently) but I did miss a lot of the old crew from ME2. Sure, they made camoes, but I liked having them as squad members (well, except for Zaeed and Kasumi due to Bioware's laziness in making actual interactive dialogue with them on the Normandy). I also hate how renegade Shepard is so lame in this game. They took my Shepard from ME and ME2 and made him weak, with him having nightmares about kids dying even though he routinely executed bad guys, or not telling people off in ME3 even though in the past he was abrasive and threatened everyone.

ME2 is the crowning jewel of this current console generation. Funny saying that as PC gamer but it's true.

ME2 will always be my favorite from the series. Even factoring out ME3's ending I ;like ME2's story better.

I liked more ME1. It have a more complex gameplay, with worlds exploration and stuffs. But i have to agree that the history on ME2 is awesome! (not saying that the history on ME1 it isn't)

Gameplay-wise: YES.
Dialogs and enthralling presentation: ME2, all the way.
Story: ME1.

I'd say the original was the best. ME2 didn't advance the overarching story at all. We were at the same point at the end of ME2 as we were at the end of ME1.

exactly imo ME 2 had the best ending, the best story and some of the best missions. The most fun missions imo are the 1st Citadel battle against the geth in ME 1 and the battle on Horizon. The suicide mission is a lot of fun as well. Fighting on a Reaper ship? That is crazy. Virmire was a lot of fun and there were some really fun missions in ME 3 as well but I can't think of anything more fun than some of those ME 2 missions. The battle on earth was insane but idk if I would call it the best mission in the series. It actually imo was very sad. The whole game gave me more of a hopeless feeling. I kind of knew going in that Shepard was going to die. Sure they say you can save Shepard with a high enough military rating but he is in a room that is ashes without a way home. He will starve to death because we don't have any mass relays and I doubt anyone knows how to get to the section of the citadel where Shepard is. It would have been nice if we got a nice afterwards kind of ending. Like Shepard and his LI moved to Rio and lived happily ever after and we saw the wedding maybe a baby or something. Its like we literally stopped the Reapers and nothing else mattered after that. I want to know what happened to my favorite characters. Where is James? Why did I even bother getting to know James since he didn't matter much. I felt like all we really did was say good bye to different characters and died. Hell when we went to say goodbye I knew he was going to die.

My breakdown:
Mass Effect: Great story, Good characters, Meh Gameplay, Great Ending
Mass Effect 2: Meh Story, Great Characters, Good Gameplay, Great Ending
Mass Effect 3: Great Story, Great Characters, Great Gameplay, and well....
Still, Mass Effect 3 has everything else going for so I'm keeping it at my #1 spot

I'm personally a big fan of ME1.
If not for the ending ME3 would easily be the best.

ME1 and ME3 are my two favorites.
I dont like the ME3 ending as much as the next one, but everything up to that point was awesome.
Just such a damn shame that ending had to bleak out my hole experience, i cant even go through it a second time. =/
ME2 did nothing for me sadly. I felt like i was in some weird reboot of a sitcom and my crew all came to me with their daddy issues, literally. Liked the end-game tho.

I liked the RP and choices of ME1.
I thought the GP of ME2 was vastly superior to 1.
I thought ME3 was the crowning achievement .... if I could only forget ending!!!
In the end I personally rate ME1 & ME2 in a virtual dead heat. If all the glitches, endings, journal issues, etc. were cleaned up in ME3 I'd give it the crown though. Better drama, great humor, more "payoff" on investing time with squadmates, etc.

I still think ME2 is the best game of all time.
ME1 was great. I enjoyed it very much. Played it through many times. But when ME2 came out, and I was playing it, it knocked me away. It was amazing. Fantastic. Great characters, great locations, great story. And great replay value.
ME3....had some great moments, but on the whole, does not match up with ME2.
