maybe was this calculatio from bioware to chose thane. this will inducate a big discussion and so they get more attention for the PAX...

^I've heard a few other people say this also..If it turns out Biowares just yanking our chains to get more attention, they're even more cruel than I initially thought.I'm really anxious to hear what they have to say at PAX now.

You know, they are probably doing just that. I didn't think Bioware could break my heart any more than they already have, but this would just be the icing on the cake. :crying:

We... have .... to ... believe .... at least! :crying:

we will, yamainu, we will not go down without a fight, we won't <_<

I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't even think about it, and just felt like putting up a pic of Thane. They don't seem to have considered how things they put in game, and post of facebook would be interpreted by fans up until now so why would they start now?
I hope so very very much that I'm wrong, but as I could never have imagined they would do what they did to Thane (and Jacob) I'm not holding out much hope.

i dont actually. latest now they have to notice how emotional the fan base of thane is, because the discussion beneath this pic is big (dispite, that people like to flame us in this discussion because we want a cure)

I would rather this than them just using a pic of Thane just to get attention (and then not actually do anything about Thane in the end). Even though them doing this on purpose would require them to acknowledge that people are angry about Thane's treatment, I don't want to believe bioware is that cruel. But, I think at least some of them acknowledge that they 'dropped the ball' on thane's romance (as we all probably know now, Patrick Weekes was the one to say this), so it must be that whoever is posting stuff on the ME2 facebook page didn't really pay attention to Thane's romance in ME3, and were probably 'bros' with him and thought his death was 'fitting and epic'.

So I guess we shouldn't lose hope yet, we've just got to keep pushing, but maybe not get our hopes up too high unless they are dashed again <_<

I'm just worried that because it's only a few of us that are posting on fb and twitter and stuff, and we're getting kind of frustrated understandably, they are going to think we are this tiny community and that no one else really romanced him but us.

The thing is, I get the impression that a lot of the people who romanced him are kind of the quiet type who only occassionally post here and there how they miss Thane. Obviously we are a minority, but that doesn't mean there aren't a significant number of us.

i get your point, but the quesion is: why thane and why now? why not the garrus pic out of the artbook or who ever?
i was really confused about it this morning...
yeah you're right, it is just the me2 page, but i don't think, that they just put any picture in it, because they just felt like it:huh:

True true, it might be the ME2 page but they've been talking about ME3 for ages so why would they just revert back to ME2 mode suddenly, especially when talking about PAX.. it would mean they HAD to acknowledge Thane's role in ME3 when putting up that picture at least a little bit, but what I'm concerned about is whether whoever put it up thought Thane was handled fine and got a fitting death, so they didn't really consider hurting those who romanced him.

But I suppose it's a good thing that the picture sparked conversation about Thane on the actual ME2 page and a lot of people commented on how they weren't happy with his death/romance.

maybe it make them tink.
but it will be hard if nothing will happen after this

Has anyone tried tweeting them about this?
I SERIOUSLY doubt they'd answer and if they did you'd probaubly get the usual:Thank you for taking the time to message us!Even though we don't give a damn what you have to say,and are only responding to keep you from rioting at our front door!..Or burning our headquarters down! :D

I'm kidding of course, they haven't said this but they might as well. -_-

I tweeted Mass Effect about it, but there was no response, of course. I'm holding out in hope that they aren't allowed to say anything and are REALLY planning an awesome DLC for him.

Maybe I'm just delusional, but I'm not giving up!

Yes there have been many tweets, some of them may be copied and pasted in this thread somewhere. Some got responses and some did not and yes basically it was a nice little brush off. I like it when they say, "We love Thane too"..well someone didn't or his romance would not have been forgotten about. Poor, sad Thane sitting all alone staring out the window at the hospital. It breaks my heart, he needs a hug.

I posted up Shara's blow-by-blow thing on Facebook for all those people who kept saying Thane's death was awesome and totally made sense.

Morning everyone, was glad to see how many pages the thread grew since I went to bed.

Had a thought this morning. While I would certainly love it if they announced something about Thane at PAX, if they mention ANYTHING about the ME2 LI's, it would definitely be a sidenote to some other announcement.

If they just went, "Hey, Cure Thane DLC.. so, Bye!" I think there would be a permanent hole in the internet where this website used to be.

It'd be really funny, but uh, we face enough fury and vitriol as it is...

Bioware was forced to cut alot of content from the game because of EA 's tight schedule..From what I understand. But theres a rumor going around that they're planning to release it all as DLC.To name a few: Aria: take back omega, and Thanes cure. I didn't think it could be true, but after seeing the pic on bioware..Maybe,theres something to it.

Though as some1 said in earlier posts- sorry, can't remember names-could just be some cruel attempt at more publicity for PAX.At this point I wouldn't put anything past Bioware...

Yeah, I just think the same way :) If they announce at least one DLC for ME2 LIs it would be great - because we can get our hopes at that all of them will be treated the same way... Hopefully. So if they should say something about a DLC in gerneral or even for another LI (perhaps the Jacob one -.- This is still ... a bad thing -.-) I have hopes up that our beloved one gets one too! They deserve better treatment :crying: This can't be the end of it... They have to see this :crying:

Oh man, now I can't wait until PAX.. they've mentioned that they are going to discuss the endings right? As of yet, they haven't seemed to openly acknowledge that people are unhappy with the ME2 romances, so I don't know if they're planning on discussing them..

Oh god I hope so much that this is true.. I don't care how much it costs, I would pay for cut content, especially Thane DLC. As bad as it sounds, I think we're all just past the 'we deserve free dlc!' stage and are all just throwing our money at our monitors for some kind of response haha (well at least I am).
Maybe EA planned this all along, to squeeze as much money out of us as possible haha. If they do end up releasing a load of awesome content later, I have a feeling people will go crazy and love the game again, and the sales will increase rapidly (bioware must have taken a hard hit with all the 'endings' protests and peopler returning their copies and buying second hand copies).

I don't understand why fanats are protesting. Even in ME 2 we knew that he was dying. The eyes saw what they bought.
And Thayne death was worthy and heroic.

Oh for god's sake. This is why we're upset:

A reiteration as to why we're angry about Thane's death from a romanced Thane's perspective:

1) There was no cure, despite CDN mention of Medigel for the lungs, the hanar cure, and Thane's transplant candidacy, mentioned in ME2 and Lair of the Shadow Broker.
2)There was a shameful lack of romantic dialogue.
3) Barely any difference between a friendShep's dialogue and a romanceShep's.
4) Only one, Keprals/VS oriented dialogue with Thane before he died.
5) No shared mission with Thane. The side mission that really should have been his went to... Kasumi??
6)The fight with Kai-Leng was stupid (why was Shep+others just standing there? Why close the distance, Thane, when Leng had a sword?) Also, a bit nonsensical and pointless; Thane dies trying to save the Salarian
councilor, an act that can be replaced by several other characters, and that has no real connection or significance to Thane.
7) The death scene was impersonal, the same for both friendShep and a romanceShep's.
8) After he died, no one save Kai-Leng mentioned Thane's name again. No chance for Shepard to mourn or talk about him with others, romanced or not.
9) Every other ME2 LI can be saved or damned by Shepard's actions (or lack thereof) all but Thane. Parity thy name is Absent in ME3.

Fail.
