I want too, oh how I want too but it is too mean. Some of those, "what's your problem with Thane dying, get over it people" are displaying banners such as, "Shepard/Liara/Pick One Deserve a Better Ending"...Ok, so everyone deserves a better ending EXCEPT Thane. Your opinions no longer matter to me after seeing a banner like that under your post. Almost as big as the hypocrites who are crying that their choices didn't matter and there weren't enough options for the endings but it is not ok for Thane fans to want an option. LMFAO.... do they realize how stupid that sounds.

Remember the EFFORT that went into creating thane in ME2? How much research and feedback the designers went through to get his look right for female players? What the hell happened!?

What happened is that someone told Bioware that the female players aren't important anymore.

Just look at what they did to Thane and Jacob. And the fact that if Kaidan's dead, Femshep sits there with no straight options anymore.

And to believe ME2 made me believe female players had actually started to become important.

I've yet again become cynical towards games in that aspect.

Art is subjective, but I think that the 'art' of Mass Effect was the way they previously managed to enable player agency through choices, it was interactive art. In me3 they seem to have decided to take that away... bad move

@Visii thanks of enlightening me re the gif... got two going but I need more!

@mnomaha  oooo another one for my collection!

@Cosmi...I agree. At the end of the day, it is a product. One that I have saved for and waited for about 9 months. I'm not happy with the product. Nor am I happy at the lack of dialogue that bw seems to think is creating anticipation. It is not anticipation. That is indicating some form of pleasure. This is frustration. That is indicative of people getting really pissed off and coming to Canada to toilet roll your headquarters.

edit: and would everybody quit apologising for ranting. We love your rants as much as wel love your other posts. <3

Please do this!   Ugh.  If I lived closer to Edmonton I'd go there myself.  They have an office in Montreal (about 4 hours away) but they are mostly back office people.  Too bad the people I know out west aren't gamers....

I gladly would have waited another year - or two.  I hope they don't rush DA3 - I believe they learned their lesson from DA2.  Maybe the ME team thought they couldn't fail?

Why would you specifically design characters to attract female players, and then act like they are completely unimportant in the third game? I would think that bioware would cherish their female players. They seem to have more than other game companies do.

Exactly. I find it hard to believe that they just purposefully *neglected* us. But at the same time, how could they have forgotten? It's the last game of the trilogy, and everyone has high expectations---you're going to want to pay attention to every specific detail.
I never, ever expected Mass Effect to end like this. It's kind of nightmarish to me.

I can't believe anyone would say Liara's romance was lacking.

They can have little blue babies!  I don't care!  I want Thane to be treated properly, and for those who romanced him, have just as satisfying a romance arc as those that romanced Liara!!  I want drell babies!!  That too much to ask??  (ok my Shep might not want drell babies, but always nice to have the OPTION!)

Ha, yes, ME2 gave me hope for more balance. F!Shep and M!Shep had an even amount of romances and pretty even everywhere else. Same in DA2 (we even got an extra!). But suddenly, F!Shep gets almost no options, and that does impact and detract from the game. You can't just throw in a different model and voice and think that makes it fair/even/balanced/etc. Yeah, we had the same quests and basic storyline, but not the same variety of options. Maybe they just assumed that since Garrus was so wildly popular, and Kaidan follows just a little behind and was meant to be a romance from the start, that the other options just wouldn't be used as much and didn't matter.

Or maybe they noticed how many guys play F!Shep for "dat ass" and so they thought to give a lot of female LIs. Idk. Either way, they made a mistake. :( :( :( :( :(

Not exactly a reassuring turn of events for female gamers, since I'd dare say Bioware's one of the few games that bothered to begin with.

Fair treatment for Thane and the rest of the ME2 LI's.
Shepard can even talk about having a family with some of the other LI's.

Yeah, and that was an ME3 add on at that. That is so screwed up. It's also Sheploo that gets that interaction. :pinched:

IMO it was really, really weird that they gave femShep three girls in ME3 and nothing else in case Kaidan wasn't alive Shepard romanced no one in ME2. My Shepard is single so that's not a problem but still, weird decision from BioWare. I don't find g&g hot (quite the opposite actually) and I definitely do not play femShep for "dat ass" or "dem bewbs".

The way they handled Thane was pretty pathetic. Like the terminal illness wasn't enough, they just had to pierce him with a sword. Dialogue was certainly lacking, considering that he was possible LI in ME2. That's certainly "interesting" way to treat a character that people are attached to...

Welcome Tup3xi. The treatment of Thane (and Jacob) was way beyond pathetic. It was a downright insult. The way they treated FemShep was a hard slap in the face. Since when, in my game, did I become a bi/lesbian? I don't remember making that choice. When I want "dat ass"...that is referring to Thane. Not some fugly would-be reporter (that has no business being in the game) or some duckface Kelly-wannabe. So not impressed bw.
