Good for you, telling them off! I did the same thing just yesterday to a friend who said when we were talking about Thane's death that "you could see it coming." I was out with some friends in the morning-Sunday morning coffee when the weather is nice and warm is soo good:)- and two are avid gamers, so of course, we started talking.
One, a female friend of mine, nagged about how they didn't give all the time she wanted to Kaidan, another-her bf,lol- was irked about Liara and Tali not getting enough screen time; both were pretty keen to dismiss my protesting about Thane and some of the other ME2 LIs,and even got as far as to say that the , and I quote, 'main ME LIs'should be taken care of, everyone else is secondary...
Needless to say, after that, coffee was still nice, but I gave them an earful, I was furious!!
I get it that, for every one of us , there are chars he/she likes more than others,OK, and everyone would like their fave characters to get more time/interaction. But one should undestand, as well, that there're other points of view and other people who feel differently and should give them and their views some respect, as well and at least try to 'get' their point of view!! Simple enough, shouldn't it be?

I've never romanced Kaidan, Ashley or Liara myself, but from what I've seen on game videos, they got a pretty decent treatment and much more time than any of the other LIs out there; and still, I sympathise with players who would like more time with them, because, well, of course they would and it'd be nice for them!
In Thane's case, especially, the sloppy, haughty way they handled him...I really have no words, it's just the worst way they could have handled him, even more so after we had been led to believe there could be hope for him-and we ended up not even given a marginal choice!
I had never expected no choice at all, none; to be a simple viewer in what was supposed to be and made a name as an interactive game, where the player's choices pretty much shaped the situation!

I completely agree. All the Mass Effect 2 people need more love, though I think Tali and Garrus got faaaaaaar better treatment than everyone else. Still, I understand their fans concerns (I romanced Garrus on another character) and support them.

It wasn't the fact they nagged about their LIs needing more time-as said already, yeah, of course they would, who wouldn't?-but the overall attitude of 'our LIs were important, none of the others were' that set me off!!
This kind of attitude is just...wrong on so many levels and honestly, what they did to Thane and Jacob and the other ME2 LIs...Yeah, I can't describe without swearing!
