Welcome Nette!
RShara forgot about the greeting drinks in the lobby.  Grab a bottle and join the club!

As for Thane-mancers being older, I always wondered that myself (being almost 38 Image IPB).  However, I think a large part stems from people (not ALL people), but some not liking "aliens" and therefore defaulting to Kaidan.  I know that I have seen comments about "not being into aliens" on several threads, so maybe that's why Kaidan has such a huge fan base.  He's ok, and I do have one loyal Shep (she's full on renegade), and he keeps her a little less ragey.

I hope that BW takes into account ALL the threads created about Thane since ME3 came out, and how most are pro-choice for a cure/transplant.  He deserves so much more, and so do we.  And every time I see him "throw" KL to the floor with his biotics, all I can think is "why aren't we opening fire???"  There is no way Garrus would have stood there doing nothing, even if my Shep was too in shock to help her boyfriend.

I think it's about maturity when it comes to Thane. I had a post in here somewhere (couldn't find it) that explained that for me. I wanted to find it so I could add to it and submit it to the letters. :(

Thane is just a mature romance. He's been through so much and still maintains such spirituality and a view of life that can only come from, not only the maturity of years, but also from life experience. I can only compare him to my Garrus romance (which I did enjoy) but Garrus will always have, for me, that playful *youthful* romantic arc, where Thane's is just...so much more.

Sorry still now quite awake yet, hopefully not too confusing.

for me it was not confusing. i get what you thought, i guess. you mean that garrus is more like a "friendship" romance and i also think he supports shepards as well as thane does, but he makes it while cheering her up, making jokes, and thane is more the listening, intense one. someone, who will carry the preasure together with her

Hehehe, thanks everyone! You certainly know how to make a gal feel welcome! *Grabs welcomedrink* -cheers!

What's this about Thane-mancers being old? I'm 32 and I'm certainly not old...lol,  I think you are as old as you feel, so I consider my real age to be 25 Image IPB

And people "not into" aliens as hot as Thane or Garrus are obviously crazy. How can you not love them?!?! Man, just their voices alone make me melt! Image IPB

Edit: Oh and I just signed that petition! They need to fix this!

Yes, I totally agree. It was the same thing why I quit the romance with Garrus and turned on Thane again. I really love Garrus in a way, and well this guy really got me smile more than once xD But in the end of the day I.... missed something which Garrus wasn't able to give me at all. Quite difficult to explain at least... The story of Thane nearly explain that he needs this deep realtionship which wakes him up from his battlesleep and all, without this feeling he would not even think about a relationship with shep.

Garrus is more that playful guy, which say: let's try and see where we get from here. I like how it comes out in ME3 because the relationship gets really deep there too, but for Thane it is like this from the very first start.

Quite confusing here too... And I should be awake at 9.40 pm ;)

I pretty much figure I'm still stuck somewhere around 20 Image IPB  But I totally agree on the voices!  Garrus is the fun friend guy, and Thane, mmmm, it's always the quiet stoic ones that are....HOT.  I cannot even begin to imagine what my Shep's poor fish have witnessed in her cabin Image IPB <ridges>

Ah those ridges.

Besides giggling everytime I hear that word, it also always reminds me of the ruffles potato chips commercial with that little kid that says.."Rrrrruffles....Have Rrrrrrrrridges."

But now it's, "Thaaane.......Has Rrrrrrrrridges."  :P

I'm 34.
Kaidan is also from the first game. Like Garrus he had an established fanbase already.
I've seen the "not liking alieans" too. Some people also take issue with Thane having a wife and a kid. I don't know why becasue it never once bothered me.
I have always love the aliens more in science fiction. The humans are not bad at all they just have never held my interest. The second I saw Thane I knew I was going to do his romance. I hadn't even played the game yet, but he looked so interesting. Then after I talking to him in the game that was it for me. There was no going back.

I'm more of a reader than a writer so I've been lurking here for awhile. Also, I really was at a loss of words to describe my disappointment and anger about how poorly Bioware treated Thane and us Thane-mancers. The game lost its spark for me when he died the way he did. His romance had so much potential, but so much of it was being missed. Even more, I felt like they did not only miss it but didn't care about it at all. As if the cheap death scene wasn't enough, not even Garrus, my Shep's favourite best friend on the Normandy, mentioned Thane's death with a single word. This was almost the exit point for me. I finished the game two days later but it all felt hollow. To be honest, my Shep doesn't give a damn about saving the galaxy if there is no future to be had with Thane...

Welcome!  Greeting drinks are in the lobby, tissues to the right...

I was RAGING when Thane died, and at the death wall Garrus ASKED ABOUT ASHLEY.  Um, who?  She's been dead for 3 years - I Virmire'd her for a reason.  No mention, no "hey how are you since your love died?", zero.

Check my sig as well as others - we have a FB group, and we're sending some letters to PAX.  We are also doing a fanbook - you can search the groups here on BSN.  There is lots of Thane support to go around!

Wow, I come back from school and so much has happened. :D I love just reading what you guys says; makes me feel a lot better about my own disappointments. And welcome all new posters!

I think the age thing is interesting as well. He's definitely has a rather large, varying audience. I think late twenties to early forties is the average, but I myself am 18 and several of my friends much younger also adore Thane. So he clearly attracts a lot of different people. I still wonder why they wouldn't have been enough to give him a bigger role in ME3. Unless they're honestly just uninterested in his character or thought, "no one will notice... and if they do we can DLC it." Man, I am such an optimist.

Also, I'm trying to crank out my PAX letter but I just combined all of my posts in a nonlinear way. So I have about 10 pages of just ranting and I'm trying to organize it. I don't wanna be all late and cause you anymore stress, Visii, but is it possible to turn it in later today?
