I think it's about maturity when it comes to Thane. I had a post in here somewhere (couldn't find it) that explained that for me. I wanted to find it so I could add to it and submit it to the letters.![]()
Thane is just a mature romance. He's been through so much and still maintains such spirituality and a view of life that can only come from, not only the maturity of years, but also from life experience. I can only compare him to my Garrus romance (which I did enjoy) but Garrus will always have, for me, that playful *youthful* romantic arc, where Thane's is just...so much more.
Sorry still now quite awake yet, hopefully not too confusing.

Welcome Nette!
RShara forgot about the greeting drinks in the lobby. Grab a bottle and join the club!
As for Thane-mancers being older, I always wondered that myself (being almost 38). However, I think a large part stems from people (not ALL people), but some not liking "aliens" and therefore defaulting to Kaidan. I know that I have seen comments about "not being into aliens" on several threads, so maybe that's why Kaidan has such a huge fan base. He's ok, and I do have one loyal Shep (she's full on renegade), and he keeps her a little less ragey.
I hope that BW takes into account ALL the threads created about Thane since ME3 came out, and how most are pro-choice for a cure/transplant. He deserves so much more, and so do we. And every time I see him "throw" KL to the floor with his biotics, all I can think is "why aren't we opening fire???" There is no way Garrus would have stood there doing nothing, even my Shep was too in shock to help her boyfriend.

Hehehe, thanks everyone! You certainly know how to make a gal feel welcome! *Grabs welcomedrink* -cheers!
What's this about Thane-mancers being old? I'm 32 and I'm certainly not old...lol, I think you are as old as you feel, so I consider my real age to be 25
And people "not into" aliens as hot as Thane or Garrus are obviously crazy. How can you not love them?!?! Man, just their voices alone make me melt!
Edit: Oh and I just signed that petition! They need to fix this!

I pretty much figure I'm still stuck somewhere around 20But I totally agree on the voices! Garrus is the fun friend guy, and Thane, mmmm, it's always the quiet stoic ones that are....HOT. I cannot even begin to imagine what my Shep's poor fish have witnessed in her cabin

Where has that comic been hiding from me??!! Bwahahahahaha. I can't stop laughing. I wonder what Garrus did to get all loopy? Hmmm...I'd rather not know.
Thanks Nette for sharing that or else I would never had seen it.

I'm more of a reader than a writer so I've been lurking here for awhile. Also, I really was at a loss of words to describe my disappointment and anger about how poorly Bioware treated Thane and us Thane-mancers. The game lost its spark for me when he died the way he did. His romance had so much potential, but so much of it was being missed. Even more, I felt like they did not only miss it but didn't care about it at all. As if the cheap death scene wasn't enough, not even Garrus, my Shep's favourite best friend on the Normandy, mentioned Thane's death with a single word. This was almost the exit point for me. I finished the game two days later but it all felt hollow. To be honest, my Shep doesn't give a damn about saving the galaxy if there is no future to be had with Thane...
