If I had to choose between VS and Thane, well...not hard one there. I wanted to leave them both on Virmire and keep Kirrahe. Liara and Thane, I might feel a bit guilty but not much, only because she risked her butt to recover my body. People I would sacrifice but would cry over: Joker, Javik, Legion, Mordin, Kasumi, Wrex, Jack, Grunt, and Garrus. Those I would be saddened by but not cry over: Samara, Jacob, Miranda, Tali, Zaeed, EDI, Dr. Chakwas, Ken, Gabby, and James. See, why bother introducing him as an LI in ME2 if they were just basically going to drop it. If they want to have "failing romances", then let it end in one game. Why carry him over to ME3 just to drop him a little while in? At least if they'd done it in ME2, Chris and others would have been there to make it bittersweet as we expected if there just absolutely would not be a cure. And then you'd know more of what to expect in ME3 and have time to make another quick run through before it killed your desire to play. lol

Well, Miranda does, but only if she dies. It's complete crap. I think they're trying to tell us something by shafting our favorite characters and romances.

I did think it was weird that "I love you" only comes up with Miranda if you let her die. Most of the people who romanced her aren't going to let that happen so it's messed up that it's the only time you hear it.

Shepard tells Jack he loves her during the holographic goodbye scene.
Jacob says he still loves Shepard but he cheated and knocked up another woman....

Thane writes "I love you" in his LotSB letter but never says it. Shepard never says it to him either. Not even when he's on his deathbed.

You're right, ME2 romances all got shafted in one way or another.

Nah, my Shep felt the same way.  I cried when Cam made her choice at the end because it was finally over and she could be with Thane.  The tears stopped and then moments later I burst into tears again. "Oh no, I just realized the Citadel is destroyed.  Did I just kill Kolyat too?"  Maybe he got off it but since I don't know, I imagined the worst.  That thought haunted me for a few hours.

I dunno, I'd have to talk to Thane first to see what he wants. lol I'd be sad about a few people, but I'd be willing to lose them. It'd be hard, but it'd be worth it for at least one play through.
I think I'd prefer a Virmire situation again, but targeting each person individually would be almost more sad.
Thane > all (sorry Javik, Legion, Zaeed, Grunt, Jack, Samara, Tali, Jacob, etcetc).

Agree with both of you. I think it should be said without the death. They care about eachother and she's out of her shell way more and so I think it'd be a great way to show she's opening up.

Yeah, that letter bothers me only because it was so beautiful and expressive and yet none of it actually makes it into the dialogue. That probably bothers me the most. Not even Thane's complete turn around right back to his "lemme die I'm okay" mood, but that Shepard just doesn't give a huuuuuuuh.

And I thought it was inappropriate of Jacob to say he loves Shep. And wrong of Cole too. It just makes it seem like he hasn't moved on like he's trying to claim he has, and that makes his relationship with Cole seem silly in a way. I'd prefer him to just say he's moved on and gonna be happy that way, than say, "Yeah I like ya but I couldn't keep it in my pants for 6 months so keep clinging and wondering why external circumstances are keeping us apart."

I hated the fact that the paragon interrupt removed the Kolyat convo between Shep and Thane (ya know, in that POS place...Huerta Hospital).  I honestly thought they were going to not involve ANYTHING with Kolyat at first....p**sed me off!
As for the Citadel gettin' 'busted and broke', didn't happen.....nup!! (shakes head vigorously)

I mostly just felt angry and numb.  Then I cried, because I realized I was robbed of any choice to do anything about it. Or be able to have my Shepard say anything to him.  It made me feel incredibly horrible.

When Kai Leng and Thane fought, I was literally yelling at my screen.  When Thane started getting the upper hand I thought maybe he'd chase that moron off, but... when they started running towards each other I knew it was going to end badly.  I think I may have screamed.  Luckily, I was home by myself when I played that part.  Anyone who witnessed my behavoir probably would have labeled me insane.



When I realized he was still alive, I had a little hope.  That all disappeared, of course, when I talked to the doctor in the hospital.  By that point I felt physically ill and turned the game off.  Didn't play for about a day, but forced myself to because I wanted to reach the end.  Unfortunately, that sucked too.

I felt pissed and pissed, and disappointed, and pissed The fight scene was pretty silly from a sci-fi game, and the stony way my Shepard acted during the death scene, and the total lack of acknowledgement from the rest of the characters just made me rage so bad

I was honestly waiting for Shepard or Kolyat to run in and pull some kick-ass move... right up until he got stabbed. And then I was like "Nope, he's gonna die. FUUUUUUUUUUU-"

I wanted to feel sad, I wanted to cry, but I was honestly soooo confused and upset at how my Shepard was reacting to the whole fight/deathbed scene/Thane romance in general that I couldn't. I was too busy screaming "WHAT?!" at my screen when Shepard didn't seem too broken up about her boyfriend getting skewered and then dying to do much of anything else. The disbelief about the nonchalance of the romance conclusion overshadowed everything else.

Yeah, I was a little sad, but I was more angry and upset. I didn't get really sad until later when no one said anything and then I found out that Thane and Shepard's romance was treated just like a friendly Shepard's was. Then I was sad.

I understand there's a war on and everything, I mean I didn't want Shepard to curl up in a ball on the floor and sob (I'm sure I could do enough of that for both of us) but....ya know, maybe she could have squeezed out a tear while watching her lover die in front of her? Geez Shep, you're not that renegade are you? You had a little zoned-out panic session when Kaidan got hurt so I know you got it in you to emote. Give me something Shep!

Mostly I felt pissed that Thane was killed by such a poorly written, creator's pet, lazy, overdesigned POS for a character.  Everything from his combat mechanics to his stupid face was just plain bad.

Sure when I killed Kai Leng, it was for Thane, but it was also for good game design.  Not that Shepard could yell that; I did

I was unhappy about that fight scene. I couldn't believe Shepard and the two squadmembers that are with you do nothing but stand there with there guns and don't shoot. I just looked silly to me.

I was sad at the death scene and then angry. Shepard just stood there with no emotion. We didn't get to hold his hand, kiss him or tell him "I love you".
