I also wasn't to crazy about how shepard seemed to be more concerned with the VS than she was with Thane.
Even while doing my Garrus romance I thought she seemed just a little to emotional over Kaidan. I almost forgot who she was actually involved with.

When I was playing ME3 I was regularly telling the game to f off due to all the ridiculous assupmtions being made about Femshep

BIG issues with this - there were so many convos that we had no control/choice over!  Like telling Thane I was there to see the VS!  Hell no!

This was the first time i bought a collectors edition game (I am also not a person that tends to rush to get a game the moment it is released, which I did with ME3) and it will likely be the last time.

The only problem with this plan is that it involves gritting my teeth and romancing the VS   I don't mind Ash and Kaidan as characters, but the romance priority bugs me.

My heart goes out for you. I can't disagree with anything you are saying. There should have been an option. An option would have please both parties. I don't understand how the writers couldn't see this. This is just common sense. Even if I haven't experience lost in my life, common sense would have told me that an option would be the best choice. (Since choices are and is what the game is about, why does it change when it comes to Thane? Every day in rl people are working on a cure/prolonging people's life. Saving him is not realistic).

I will be writing a long letter to Bioware. Even if it doesn't change anything, I think someone needs to speak out for people like us. They can't emotionally draw us in, hint at a cure/prolonging his life and then pull something like this in ME3. This level of cruelty needs to be address.

It is common sense.  I wish I could defend the storyline and the choices that were made but I just can't.

I hope they reply to you when you do write them.  I've been thinking about doing the same thing.

As did I. Easily one of the best games I've ever played. It's just...it hit so many notes just right... and when there's a loud discordant one, it makes it all the more noticeable.

I'd assumed Thane was going to die, and had thus prepared myself for a hugely emotional moment. What I got was, "Oh, you're dead? Ok, I'm gonna take off, then, business as usual."  Really, the one moment I'd expected to make me bawl like a baby had absolutely no effect on me. Likewise, moments I'd never expected to affect me had me depressed for hours.

Yeah, I actually think that one line that leads him to talking about how he's not seeing anyone and how to get past Horizon is a better romance line then whatever the option is where you reassure him that things are good and that just seems counterintuitive to me.

There should have been an option. An option would have please both parties.

If Bioware cared about pleasing fans they wouldn't have given us those endings.

100% this.  When something is so close to perfect yet not, the flaws stand out that much worse.  I had such a blast with the Mass Effect series as a whole, and I'm not going to let a few flaws in ME3 ruin the series for me.  But that doesn't mean I won't pull a Shepard and yell about stuff until BioWare pays attention

In my personal headcannon, the pictures on the Citadel Memorial Wall are from Shepard and Kolyat. But I didn't realize Allers had one, because I literally never go in to talk to her. She's just... a walking 5pt War Asset as far as I'm concerned. That sucks, though. I completely agree that Shepard should at least get a picture. Hell, you even get a picture for the Kelly romance, I think. Jerks.
