There’s a lot about ME 3 that baffles me and makes me wonder what the Devs were thinking. Some who were fans of Thane’s thought it would be fitting if he died in ME3, but I always imagined Bioware would give those who romanced him the opportunity to see him live.
I couldn’t be sad about his death because I was too shocked, at first, then just frustrated. Instead of further developing his romance with Shep, they chose to use him as a lame plot device. ME3 is the end of Shepard’s story; did they not realize such dismissal of ME2 characters would upset many?
What was that random e-mail for, about the drell dying near the ocean of Kepral syndrome, who is suddenly cured? (this among other false hope)

same here. i thought there would be at least an option and we should have gotten a better romance than we recieved. welcome to this thread... we all are pretty much having the same problem.
i'm with you on not crying. i just couldn't believe it and felt kinda sick. bioware went completely one sided on Thane. I am still having a hard time believing that they took their character that was intended for women and slaughter it.

Well, they got the book and they seemed to enjoy it very much, so hopefully... I mean, there were over a hundred letters in there about it, I think, so pretty sure that that's something to look at.Cat71 wrote...

Yeah very interesting. I just read it right now. The part that got my attention is where he says he kind of resented James Vega's character because he felt it took away a spot for a ME2 character. I don't know if Thane would have been one of those characters he wanted to have on the Normandy since he is the one that said that they "dropped the ball" on him. So he probably would have been forgotten either way.

He was responisble for writing Mordin and genophage content, yeah? And I believe he was the writer who mentioned that "the ball got dropped" concerning Thane. I know he is gonna be helping to write the extended cut dlc for this summer concerning the endings....I hope he gets to write some DLC for Thane too since he acknowledges that there was some issues with his treatment in the game. Who wrote Thane in ME2 anyway? I want to say that whoever it was is not with Bioware anymore
And welcome new Thane forumites! I'm relatively new myself but I feel right at home here

Yup; dats the guy! Actually have a lot of respect for him, and Mordin RULZ!
Still no idea who wrote Thane this time around.......have never gotten an answer to that, though I know there have been multiple tweets asking this very question. Keeping my fingers crossed

@Yermogi - Visii updated the first page of the PAX letter thread with the numbers, I wanna say it was like 130 total.

WOW! That's pretty awesome. I imagine if we had more time we could have had a lot more too. I could totally see us having a book for every LI after a while. Just mail 'em all there in a box.@Yermogi - Visii updated the first page of the PAX letter thread with the numbers, I wanna say it was like 130 total.

Wow.. reading that shows just how much content was cut/rushed due to time/budget constraints.. it's depressing that they weren't able to make ME3 the best it could be, but seriously though i wouldn't have minded waiting another few months or more, and if they had made it super epic the profits surely would have made up for the costs.. I dunno.
Also from the way he talks about the citadel and mass relays blowing up, i have a feeling bioware never intended for the indoc. theory.. but I'm still holding on to hope, and trying to convince myself that they are still just not trying to give too much away..
