Do any of you have the collectors edition guidebook? I bought it cause I wanted to do everything right in order to save the people I like (-->Thane). Anyway, in the section where thane dies it says:

"If you have already spoken to Thane in the hospital he will fight Kai Leng and die. If you have not, captain Kirrahe will fight Kai Leng instead"

Cause I only read this when I had already spoken to Thane (went to him as soon as possible of course!), does this mean that if you just ignore him until after the Kai Leng fight he stays alive? He'll probably just stay in the hospital though, with the same conversation options over and over.. But I'm still curious, anyone tried this?

So far as I heard, if you don't  go see him, he dies.

That was the first thing that passed through my mind when I heard that Kirrahe fights Kai-Leng, that I could maybe avoid it by not talking to him.

1. OPTION for a cure/prolonged life. Doesn't have to be puppies and rainbows. Have him live to the end of the game and get stranded with the rest of them (it also shouldn't be an easy, magic-wand type deal)
2. If he dies, have Shepard react appropriately.
3. If he dies, have the crewmates react appropriately
4. Show him in the final flashback instead of Liara
5. Fix the graphics issues (Shep's hands are like a foot above Thane's when they greet)
6. Stop forcing us toward the VS. We went to the Citadel to see Thane, not VS
7. Happy times with Thane that unlock the Paramour achievement

Too bad, so much for my last hope... Stupid guidebook, its the first guidebook I ever bought for a game and probably the last. You know its 464 pages long and it only mentions thane once, when he dies!! And it does not even say exactly what happens if you dont go speaking with thane in the citadel

Maybe not so important but...I would like to see fixed "intimate" scene with Shep&Thane...this one in game was...well..strange.
Also about yours second point, I would add Shepard reaction after Thane is wounded by Kai Leng..
BTW do You really belive, that BioWare " forgot" about Thane as LI? If it would be a truth, why there's " intimate" option for Shep & Thane or " cheat" things in Kaidan's dialog in hospital?

To be fair, some players did in fact go to the Citadel to see the Virmie Survivor. Like the Kaidan-loving femSheps, for example.

Amen to the rest of that list, though.

That is what makes this whole thing so confusing. Besides the push towards the VS when speaking with Thane in the beginning, it seems like he'll be a normal romance option. You can kiss him, reaffirm your feelings, and have a quick chat. His parting words are ominous and seem worrying, but unlike Jacob, he doesn't dump you right away or end the relationship. It's implied to still be there.

Yet there's no more conversations, and you run past him to go see the VS. You can't buy him anything at the kiosk (I think he needs the booze more than Kaidan), and his death scene is almost identical to that of a platonic relationship. Then, y'know, no one cares that he died and everything.

It's almost as though they changed their minds halfway through, or they really thought that since he was dying, no one would expect any follow-up, or would just automatically try to romance someone else. Or it's possible that multiple people wrote his part and just sort of threw it together instead of having one writer do the whole thing.

At least give him the Paramour achievement. The idea that you didn't 'rekindle' the relationship is a little uncomfortable.

I'm glad he did and it's a start, with that I can agree. But still doesn't solve anything.

No, it doesn't, and TBH it'll probably be a few weeks before things have a chance of getting resolved.  The game still has some bugs in single and multiplayer (import face bugs, dropping matches, etc.) that the team's fixing.  Once all the post-launch jitters and crazy has passed, I hope they'll have more time to resolve things like this.

Still, they're listening.  And I've always liked Pat Weekes, so I might be a bit biased

And just to keep mentioning it....They could definitely make an excellent DLC out of going to Kahje and being able to get a treatment for Thane.

What's nice about his character is that with his past (and his current condition) and Kahje's general awesomeness (read the description in the Wiki) there's huge potential for an epic DLC.

Heck, seeing as though Kahje is an oceanic world they could throw in a new type of fish you can catch for your personal aquarium too. Just to sweeten the deal.

Edit: And just imagine how helpful it would be to your War Assets if you were able to publicize a treatment for Keprel's Syndrome. You'd be able to gain the alleigance of even more drell and hanar forces.

I like Mr. Weeks a lot and don't blame him, but it's the logic behind it all that makes it questionable.
Still, you're right about having to wait and then again that's not something we couldn't handle.

Gosh, there's so much potential in this. And it would be fascinating if Thane were to visit again...Sort of confronting his past in his first visit to the planet in a long time, especially after gaining a new outlook from a romanced Shepard.

I don't tend to buy DLC...but darn, this would be an insta-buy.

And if he can run across the Citadel and competently confront Kai Leng, a powerful assassin, then I'm sure with the Normandy's Medical Bay he can have the proper medical attention to quickly  to another planet.

I'd love to see a Kahje DLC that included a potential cure for Thane. It would have to be a side quest in it though because I can't see Bioware creating a DLC that focused on a character who they set as dead by default in new ME3 games.

In my deluded mind I've been hoping that the poor treatment of Thane is due to the team knowing that there is more content planned and not devoting so much attention to him in the main game... I can dream. But a ME2 squad DLC would be a massive winner. What is more likely is that Mshep will get his DLC for Miranda and Jack and leave us out in the cold even more.

DLC with ME2 squadmates would be awesome, as long as it added to the overall story and gave a bit more closure with those characters. A new adventure + goodies + more time with said character. That would be a win, I think.

Well the things about Kaidan is the one I dislike in my game ( don't get me wrong, I like Kaidan as a character, but Thane is just perfect LI for me). While Im playing as a Shepard in love with Thane,for me, more important is Thane than Kaidan. I want to have option to tell Thane, that he shouldn't worry about Kaidan, and don't risk his life for him ( but as I said in Thane's topic I love how noble Thane can be). Also I want option to tell Kaidan, that Thane is my Shep love, instead I got stupid excuses, that sounded, like Thane wasn't someone important for Shep, just someone to warm her bed, only becouse she and Kaidan were so "physically"  apart..I want to shoot Kai Leng instead of watching when he is hurting my love, I want stay with Thane or leave someone with him, when he is waiting for someone, who will take him to hospital. I want, after Thane death to be comfort by my friends, and I don't need date from Kaidan, right after...It's unfair that I have chance to save Jack, Miranda, Tali, hell even Chambers, but I never got a chance to save my LI. To be honest after Thane's death I lost interest in reaching " perfect" ending and Shep surviving..

It is also possible that Kahje itself can be reap'd. I didn't realize this until I played a game in which I hadn't recruited Kasumi. Had to choose between the Salarian spectre and stopping the virus upload.

Yup, you can doom a whole planet in a minor sidequest.
