Is Thane really the only one who doesn't end up in the codex?

Hey guys, I never fully romanced Thane, but I was completely appalled when I found out BW "forgot" he was a romance, and I think the treatment in ME3 is almost criminal. I would like to have a banner in my sig that expresses this. Which one do you think I should use to most get the point across?

Hey kglaser, thanks for the support.  Huge Garrus fan as well....in ME2 I always had Thane and Garrus with me.  They were the best team.  I don't have a link to the banners (though you might check out the first couple pages here.....some of them may have been posted there.), but most people here have no problem with you snagging them from our signatures.  Mine is in .gif form, so unsure if that will cause a problem, but you are welcome to give it a try.

Hopefully someone else will drop by and give you a copy or link.....again, thank you for the support!Image IPBImage IPB

Just saw your response...thanks!  I am going to replay ME2 soon and I too really like taking Thane and Garrus...I can almost hear them in my head competing for headshots B)
Since I have your permission, I will try taking yours for now.  Thanks for the help :)

Hmph!  Considering how easy it is to get her killed (timed mission an all....so silly to me)........poor Jack.  Poor Thane. Not fair.

They did corral us all into one lame generic storyline, didn't they? Sorry, Cameron was a Colonist/Ruthless who was forever pissed about the batarian slavers that killed her family and friends. So yes, she signed up for the military. Military = guns and revenge. Did she enjoy herself on Torfan when she butchered a bunch of them family killers? Yes, she did. Did striking an instant connection with Thane make her rethink her prejudices? Yes it did...right up until the point where he told her batarian slavers killed Irikah.    At that point, she knew she was never going to like them.  Did she warn the Batarians in Arrival?  No, she did not and she didn't feel bad about it either.

I'm pretty sure that if we had been able to play out the trial for all her crimes and have all available dialogue options, I could see Cameron making a few more enemies.  She would not deny she blew up a bunch of batarians and would not feel sorry for it.  She would also throw Hackett under the bus stating that he sent her there and wanted it kept quiet.  If the Cerberus thing was another issue, well she'd tell them that Cerberus rebuilt her and that Hackett and the Alliance knew darn well where she was and who she was working with but it was Hackett who blocked the Alliance's request to talk to her sooner.  Again, tossed under the bus for him.  Then she'd tell them all to kiss her azz, give her back the Normandy because THAT Normandy was built by Cerberus and not theirs to seize.  Of course they'd tell her No and then the Reapers show up and then she just takes it.

With that she would remind Joker that the Alliance treated him like crap and to start flying the ship he loves more than his own life.  She'd head to the Citadel suck up to the Council so that she could have funds to fight the reapers...heck, mine is still a Spectre.  Go to Mars anyway because Liara is there and sooner or later, Liara would know what happened and contact her or vise versa.  Then take the Crucible plans and wave them under Hackett's nose and tell him, "No plans for you unless you start doing things my way."  Then she'd go see Thane, knock him over the head if necessary and drag is butt back onto the Normandy.  Tell Liara to start searching for a way to save Thane or she won't let her go anywhere near the cool Prothean I'm going to get.

That is Cameron and that is more true to her form than that rubbage FemShep I got handed in ME3.

So Jack too.
I really do hate the fact that her mission is timed. It's stupid.
I think Jack and Thane are the only ones who are dead if you don't import form ME2.

@JECW - If I remember correctly (and admittedly I may not be) I think Thane, Jack, Grunt and Samara are considered dead from the SM, if you start a brand new Shep in me3. And yes....stoopid timed missions like that, are stoopid! :P

@utaker - I don't even play a Renegade (more Paragade), and I STILL would have thrown Hackett under the bus for "Arrival" Dat ***t don't fly! I actually liked Hackett until I played Arrival. After playing it once, I decided NOT to bother with the rest of my Sheps and that DLC.....only way I WAS going to bother, is if it added something really cool or vital to me3.......which......it din't! >.<

I've seen references where you do get the achievement, but you have to warn her to change her appearance/name so she doesn't get killed by Cerebus during the coup. It's just what I've heard. I've never bothered with her, so don't know myself.

I had to move it to the back of my bookshelf so I wouldn't look at it. Certainly haven't played it. It will probably be long after hell has frozen over before I bother with another EaWare game.

Well if it's true, and Kelly does get a paramour achievement  that is one of many things wrong with this game.

Someone pointed out that the reason that Thane and Jack being dead in a non-import is due to them having the lowest survival scores on the suicide mission.
Which is just so weird because if my memory serves right, the person who is most likely to die in the Suicide mission is Mordin (During the "Hold the line" segment) followed by Tali.

Although Thane does have the highest priority to die in two scenarios:

If the weapons were not upgraded
If you picked either a disloyal biotic, or any biotic besides Jack/Samara and brought Thane along as a squadmate.
I suppose there is a third scenario too, if you send Thane in the vents (which is pure derp since they say that a tech specialist is needed)

The above scenarios are easily avoidable, and I'd wager that most players actually did manage to keep him alive even if the "official" statistics say otherwise.

(Those official statistics are probably a bit skewered, since only players with a constant online connection and with online gameplay feedback on will actually contribute data)

{Edit] What Samara too? That makes even less sense...

Did they think that people had at first not upgraded the armour (Jack dies) And then send a disloyal Samara/random biotic besides Thane (Thane dies), and then finally bringing said disloyal Samara to fight the Human-Reaper-Larvae (Samara dies)?

WTF!? That's definitely even a less chance of that happening than having everyone survive!

I never once lost Thane in SM.
I've only ever lost Mordin and Tali. Even when I've upgraded everything I have still lost Tali.

Yeah, during the Vents with a Disloyal Fireteam leader or during "Hold the Line", Tali has a high chance to die espicially if Mordin was picked as an escort for the crew.

If anyone is curious there is always this old thread which explains the ZOMG Science! part of the SM:

I'm pretty sure Kasumi is squishier than Thane

iirc (and I might not) toughness was Grunt and Zaeed, then Garrus, Thane, Legion and most of the others at about the same level
Then Mordin, Tali and Kasumi as squishiest

Yeah, Grunt, Zaeed and Garrus are the *top* characters followed by most characters besides Kasumi, Tali, Mordin and Jack, in contributing to the defense score.

However who dies is a different story.
Besides the *top* characters, Thane is the fourth in line to survive. Mordin, Tali, Kasumi and Jack in that order, being the squishiest ones.

[Edit] Kasumi is the squishiest one when it comes to not upgrading the shields though

Ya know if they were going to screw us over with the Thane romance, the LEAST they could do is make the messages a little more personal than that.  I wish I could be of more help, yeah I wish too...get yer green azz on the Normandy and Shep will check you over for medical reasons.  Now, take off yer clothes, please.  :P

I saw this in another thread, and wonderd why Bioware couldn't do something like this for Thane. It made me angry how much effort they put into the other romances.
They just completely forgot about us.
