naturally, neither will I :D

I don't know about everyone else but until now I was a sure thing for Mass Effect DLC, it's not a lot of money for a big corporation to lose but it's still not good for business to ****** off fans this much.  We were hardly asking very much.

I'd love to see a Kahje DLC that included a potential cure for Thane. It would have to be a side quest in it though because I can't see Bioware creating a DLC that focused on a character who they set as dead by default in new ME3 games.

It is also possible that Kahje itself can be reap'd. I didn't realize this until I played a game in which I hadn't recruited Kasumi. Had to choose between the Salarian spectre and stopping the virus upload.

"The Hanar lost their homeworld today."

Yup, you can doom a whole planet in a minor sidequest.

I didn't see that... I actually can't play the game anymore, all my ME games are at the bottom of my game box out of sight  I'm playing DA2.  I was disappointed with DA2  (Zevran why you cheat?) but I did really enjoy it too.  ME3 is infinitely more disappointing for me although overall it is the better game.

This. They messed up at making his death "powerful" and "moving".

Yes, definitely. I imagined it as something you could complete (should complete) before he died so that you could prevent his death.

And I didn't know they automatically placed Thane as dead in the games of characters starting from scratch in ME 3! That's a surprise.

Does anyone have any idea as to the reasoning behind it? Is it to guarantee the Salarian councilor's death?

A from-scratch Shepard will never see any drell, except in multiplayer. I wonder if drell still get a codex entry under "non-council races".

Well I doubt, that Thane's dead is in game to guarantee this, while I saw on forum a rumour, that if there's no Thane, then Kirrahe will fight against Kai Leng..I think, it's becouse devs hadn't idea what they should do with ME2 LIs ( especially for female players)...or becouse they want to make " Save Thane Krios" DLC ( sorry, but I have to cheer up myself )

In my deluded mind I've been hoping that the poor treatment of Thane is due to the team knowing that there is more content planned and not devoting so much attention to him in the main game... I can dream. But a ME2 squad DLC would be a massive winner. What is more likely is that Mshep will get his DLC for Miranda and Jack and leave us out in the cold even more.

I would definitly buy this, but it has to have all ME2.
I refuse to buy it if Thane isn't in it, and they need to fix everything they screwed up.

I'm pretty sure that the drell still get their codex entry. But wow, you're right. We don't meet any drell other than Thane during ME 3. And one hanar. And one Elcor. Now that I think about it...Hahahahahaha

So it is settled. Thane needs to be saved and put on the Normandy for the sake of  galactic diversity. And for the sake of filling the strangely empty Life Support room. That nobody uses. Ever.

Well, they can use the new space magic. Really, if my team can be teleported back to the Normandy and into some unknown region of space, they can bloody well whip out their wands and give us this DLC.

Wishlist for Thane

1. OPTION for a cure/prolonged life. Doesn't have to be puppies and rainbows. Have him live to the end of the game and get stranded with the rest of them :D (it also shouldn't be an easy, magic-wand type deal)
2. If he dies, have Shepard react appropriately.
3. If he dies, have the crewmates react appropriately
4. Show him in the final flashback instead of Liara
5. Fix the graphics issues (Shep's hands are like a foot above Thane's when they greet)
6. Stop forcing us toward the VS. We went to the Citadel to see Thane, not VS
7. Happy times with Thane that unlock the Paramour achievement

This one speaks the truth.

Well there's no " magic" needed. After talks with doctor right before Thane died, it's obvious, that he will die not becouse wound, but becouse Kepral Syndrome. So, to save Thane Krios we should need in my opinion:
-give him reason for live ( romance with him in ME2, and/or save his son from become murderer)
-kept Thane alive after SM in ME2
-save Hanars homeworld via ( present right now in game) side quest
-convice Thane to get lunge transplantation or to get cure for Kepral Syndrome from Hanars homeworld.
Then, if You done above things, You will be able to save Thane similar to Jack, Miranda or, if player didn't care about him in ME2, plus didn't side quest in ME3, then Thane will die..I think it could be good solution for this problem. Plus, after transplantation or cure Thane could stay in hospital or hannar planet to recover and eventually he and Shepard could meet on Normandy before final battleImage IPB, so BioWare wouldn't have to worry about reason for lacking Thane as a companion.

I'm all for that scenario. Maybe BW will surprise us, pull finger and actually do something constructive instead of destructive.

I feel like a jerk for speaking out against fans of any ME romance, but I think anyone who thinks that there should have been an option for Thane to survive is being kind of unfair. It was upfront from the beginning that he was dying of a disease that the doctors didn't know how to cure, and any FemShep who romances him goes into that relationship being told that. It does a serious disservice to that relationship if you whisk a cure out of nowhere at the last minute.

Though from what I know of it, I can definitely sympathise with anyone who wished to see a little more of him before the end. I personally am hoping that, after the endings get fixed, Bioware will look at releasing some DLC for the various love interests to elaborate on those sorts of things.

You're welcome to voice your opinion, but you should do your homework.  We are told in ME2 that Thane is a viable transplant candidate, and CDN reported on a new lung treatment.  It was perfectly reasonable for us to hope and even expect to have some means to prolong his life in ME3

I'll admit. I'm not 100% convinced Thane needs to live -- though having a CHOICE would be really, really, REALLY nice -- but he needs more. A fourth scene? Other characters saying anything about him? An achievement. Kaidan NOT hitting on Robin right after Thane dies...
