I romanced Garrus with my FemShep, but even I was upset with the poor treatment of Thane's romance in ME3. I would have gone back and done a playthrough romancing Thane to see what happens, but if it'll end up the same like when I DIDN'T romance him, what's the point?

I feel for all the Thane romancers, because this is absolutely unfair. And Thane was a favorite character of mine anyway, so I was upset that there was no way to save him.

What if Thane's death only happens when you didn't get his loyalty, like some of the other characters in the game? Like, Grunt: he lives if you got his loyalty, and dies if you didn't. So the same could go for Thane: if you got his loyalty, there would be a cure and he'd live, but if you didn't get his loyalty, what happens in the game now would happen.

Seriously, a handful of regular fans could have done a better job than Bioware and EA did......

Thanks for the support SugarChic!

I think that would be a great improvement in the game. Too bad the writers forgot he existed, or they might have actually done something like that.

...My daughter hates video games (can't understand why) and *she* could have done a better job...

I agree too and thanks for your support SugarChic...yeah I did read your post but I'm realized I forgot to quote it.

I don't know about pouncing, I'm more of a slip and slider  (probably from the drool)

Hah. My boyfriend thought I was just being crazy complaining about Thane.

Then he ran his femShep who was a Thane buddy and had a live Thane, and now he's upset about the aftermath, too.

Uhhhhhhhh.... That is now the best room ever, and I don't even like balloons that much.

I don't care for them either, unless I'm shooting at them, but they are RBG. My first thought was, yeah I'll get into the liquor, wander over to the shelf where his guns are and start firing at the balloons.

Why can't life support look like that in ME3! Instead of a dreary empty room TT_TT I would love to have walked in on this if he had the option for a cure

Thane: Guess who got a new pair of lungs!
Shep:  :o

someone else just modded his pants with his skin texture. I've kept the picture on my drive for forever, don't recall who made it.

Same as you, I romanced Garrus.  But I can't help but notice the appalling job done here.
I agree with everything you said, well-done.  Especially the last sentence. <_<

Ok, useless post incoming.

I'm as much a Garrus girl as one can decently be, but I have to say that the way the Thane romance was handled in ME3 sucked. I remember thinking that the friendship path was awesome (IMO), great conclusion to their friendship with the prayer at the end, and that the romance scene was probably even more awesome, especially given Thane's popularity as a LI in ME2.

Then... well, I learnt that he was barely mentioned at all after his death. Like nothing happened. For Christ's sake the Traynor shower scene and Allers' come on occur right after his death. Talk about tact and diplomacy here!

In short... I feel for you guys, I really do.

I've said it before. It was seeing his arch on a Garrusmancing Shepard who I happened to think of as a FRIEND of Thane's that drove me batty about it anyway. Most everything else, I could deal with (sometimes with a heavy spritz of headcanon) regarding his arch, but the total horrible lack of aftermath is the literary equivalent of a dead seagull landing on your head. Nasty, shocking, unexpected, and dreadful to think about as well as painful.
