I made it to the end of your post...LOL. I try to read everything but alas, I am easily distracted. Especially if the words Thane, ridges, and bacon are used. Hmmm.....let's sit Thane out in the sun for a long time, heat up those ridges and cook

I  totally missread that word, I read it with one less o and an extra c in there.

Yeah, I did that too...but it sounded much better.

edit: TOP...and it took awhile to find a pic because I have some of the most...appealing...pictures in my photobucket account.  this one is by Zanramon

I would totally buy a fecking xbox for this.

Hmmm.... Thane Origins, that I would play. I'd be more interested in the tracking and killing peeps for the first run through then it will be all about having it on the PC so it can be MODDED in a manner worse than my DA:O is.

As for the Thane dialogue at the hospital I was just sitting here thinking about how my various Sheps would react.

Cameron: What did you just say to me?
Thane: We always knew it would end.
(bends over to remove her shoe)
Thane: What are you doing, Siha?
Cameron: End? Says who? (whack, whack, whack)
Thane: Siha!!! Stop!!! I am going to lose consciousness, the oxygen in my brain....
Cameron: You are going to lose more than that if you ever say that to me again! Do you hear me?
Thane: Yes, I'm sorry. That was really unnecessary.
Cameron: Get on the Normandy...NOW! Don't make me remove my other shoe....
Thane: I will meet you on the ship.
--------------------------------------------------
Hope: End? Did you just use the word end with me?
Thane: We knew about my illness and that our time was short.
Hope: Hmmm, hold on.
Thane: Who is that?
Hope: This is Javik and I am ordering him to stay here and talk to you until you change your mind.
(an hour later)
Thane: Siha, how do you put up with that? He is well, not very polite.
Hope: You don't say? Normandy?
Thane: You know I can't.
Hope: Ok, have it your way. Javik stays with you.
(Two days later)
Thane: Siha, I give up. You win. I will stop this dying nonsense and join you.
Hope: Good.
----------------------------------------------------------
Faith: End? (starts crying)
Thane: Siha, I didn't mean to make you upset.
Faith: You can't do this to us. We only have a short time. Don't push me away.
Thane: This is better for the both of us.
Faith: But I love you.... remember when Edward decided to push Bella away for her own good? It didn't go well.... I will die out there without you!! Please... (falls into fetal position)
Thane: You are making a scene, I really wish you wouldn't.
Faith: Can't do this...can't do... My heart is breaking....I am breaking.... I... I....
Thane: I cannot do this to you. What time I have left is yours.
-----------------------------------------
Malificent: (whips out her gun) What did you just say to me? Tell me you did not just say, "We always knew it would end."
Thane: Siha, put the gun away. This is trouble you don't want.
Malificent: Hello... Spectre... Get on the ship.
Thane: I cannot do that. I told you I cannot fight, I would be useless.
Malificient: You are useless sitting here in this chair acting like you are already dead.
Thane: That was rather rude.
Malificent: Hello...Malificent, you knew what I was when you fell in love with me. Ship now!
Thane: I do want to be by your side but...
Malificent: But what? So, you can't fight, big deal neither can half the people on that ship. They can hold a gun and pull the trigger but none can really fight. Stop feeling sorry for yourself, get your sh*t and get on the ship.
Thane: Still as forceful as always, do you ever tire of being such a....
Malificent: No, I do not. Listen here Thane, I do love you but this pity party you are putting on is tiring. If you are so accepting of death, how about I put a breezeway through your temple now?
Thane: You don't want to do that.
Malificent: Need I remind you of our last adventures? How many of us made it through the Omega 4? I am not above doing what is necessary. You sitting here a shell of your former self is sad, pathetic and even you can't sit here and tell me you are really happy about it. I've seen you cry about dying, remember that? Unless it was tears to get me in bed, in which case....
Thane: Yes I remember and no it was not like that. I see your point. My feigned happiness was only to make you feel better.
Malificent: Very well and we have a new dress code aboard the Normandy.
Thane: That is?
Malificent: You will remain unclothed the entire time you are in my Cabin.
Thane: Siha...tell me why I love you so?

I like Malificent. I do.

Get him on that ship, woman! And get Javik and Cameron to help too! Cameron, I have some very sturdy stillettos you can use, just use the soft end!

haha xD
malificent is awesome xD i think my karin will be like that too xD
maybe...she always becomes soft when thane is around xD

well...thane origin, that would be cool x3

by the way...
well well, just convince a friend to buy mass effect 2 (she has a ps3, so she cannot play me1) and it's too cute to see her making her first me2 steps.
i feel like leading a littly puppy through a big big world :)
she says she is really really excited about thane, because i told her sooo much about him (well actually how wonderfull he is, nothing about his character arch and so on, but just how much i adore him)
it was hard to tell her, what's gonna to happen in me3 T_T
and she asked me for genesis which decisions are best and it was hard not to spoiler her *sigh*

Ok, so I took a brief break from drawing smut art to browse twitter and I found this tweet (it made me squee with hope):

-------

ShepskiGuy‏:

@PatrickWeekes Lots of demand! :D Kaidan fans have $$$ ready for Kaidan comic and Kaidan DLC! >:D

PatrickWeekes‏:

@ShepskiGuy‏ Well, honestly, before I did an A/K-centric DLC, I'd likely push for ME1/2 squaddies who weren't squaddies this time..

-----

(I don't dislike Kaidan/Ashley, but I guess it's a no-brainer that I agree with Patrick here)

I also agree.
Why should Kaidan or Ashley get their own DLC anyway. Their fans got everything they asked for and more in ME3.
The ME2 squad are the ones that was left out, and treated horribly. Especially Thane and Jacob. I really hope that this news means we will get a DLC for them.

Well, you can tell us when the smut is done and then direct us to it...privately if you have too.

I am really the wrong one to ask...so I'll just try to erase the smutty images because I have to go bring my daughter to go get her First Communion Dress.  LOL.... I just feel wrong thinking about dirty Thane while shopping for a dress that covers that event.

So another day of filing, and other mindless work.  This got me thinking yet again, on how BW could implement a choice to keep Thane alive, while not disrupting the current base game.  (and yes, I personally believe it should have been implemented in the first place, but alas.....that's not what we got.)  I am trying to imagine a "reasonable" way to integrate this, AND it would then be available for anyone who has an alive (obviouslyImage IPB), loyal Thane (romance or not).  My original idea for a patch would still be utilized, but could even be added to the EC DLC (might encourage even more people to download it and play/replay the game.)  I will include my description from my original idea, and have now added a small diagram (poorly madeImage IPB).  The diagram (with different content, of course), could be used to also add something for Jacob as well.

Here was my original idea:

1) Even though I love the idea (very much so) of LI DLC, I fear that exclusive LI DLC probably won't happen. However, I DO see them adding more LI content to story DLC, to appeal to the likes of us crazy RPGers.

2) For Thanemancer though, (as he would say...) this is problematic. They wrote a character arc for him that currently has him die no matter what, AND is in obvious physical distress through the small portion of the game, he is in. So, again, from the perspective of BW writers, and the unlikely chance of Thane exclusive DLC, a question must be answered: How do we believably (within the current written format) give people a chance to have his fate altered, so he could be utilized in future story DLC??
I believe I came up with a workable idea:

a) Add content to the EC that adds one more dialogue set to Thane's character (and a small one to his Doctor).
B) This extra dialogue would only trigger after all other previous in game dialogue is exhausted (but before Citadel Coup).
c) This dialogue would have a standard wheel with two right side options, and two left side options. The Bottom Left option would simple close off the convo, allowing you to simply move on from the dialogue. (for those that want a different fate for him.....i.e. same fate as you get in the vanilla game....yuck)
d) The Top Left option, would open a quick Investigative dialogue, in which we would learn that his Doctor mentioned something about new treatments to help his people. Perhaps it is the lung medi-gel treatment, but he doesn't believe it will be available to him.
e) A choice to end the convo with a paragon or renegade response.....neither will effect (beyond tone/personality) the information you have gleened from Thane.
f) This will lead you to talk to the Doctor one last time before the coup. Following a few lines to indicate, that you hope she will find a way to get the treatment to Thane.
g) The new content provided would effectively be done, because the game would then use existing markers already provided in the base game. Basically, if you followed the life extention route with this new content, Thane would NOT end up in the KL fight. The base game would register this the same as if you never went to speak with him in the first place.  The sacrifice for this would be what you would expect; if Kirahee is alive in your PT, then he is the one to die. If not, then the Salarian Councilor dies.
<side note: I would also include one last piece of easy content.  A NEW letter from Thane (in place of LotSB letter, since Thane would now be alive.....and we never needed that damn thing to be recycled anyway....) telling us about his current whereabouts and that Kolyat was with him.  Also add him to Codex entry as he should have been from the beginning.>

3) With this new content from the EC, it would effectively make Thane available for any further DLC they may wish to do. INCLUDING any LI content that was also incorporated in to said DLC. This would also allow for the romance to continue as it should have been in the first place for all Thanemancers, and we could also get the Paramour Achievement from this extra LI content.  HOLD THE DRELL!

Now for the "highly artistic" diagram <sarcasm>:

Image IPB

This wouldn't be my absolute favorite solution, but again, I am trying to work within the confines of not altering existing content (base game).  The upside is, he would now be available to be used in upcoming story DLC, and extra LI content/DLC.....should they make some.  The downside is, no real extra LI content would occur in the base game (except the NEW letter from Thane, and new Codex entry).

As I said earlier, this could also be implemented for Jacobmancers......have no idea about dialogue and content, but it would work in a similar fashion.  Just like there would be a sacrifice for Thane (Kirahee or Salarian Councilor), Jacob's sacrifice would most likely involve a breakup with Brynn (and since he would see this as a douchee thing to do, well.....)

Again, hardly what we were hoping for, but it could be something they could employ with no retconning of base game.  And, for anyone who don't want to bother (or can't/won't download it) it won't effect general gameplay....they aren't really missing out on base game content (which you KNOW someone would **** about if we tried to ask for too much....bah, wuteva!Image IPB)

*sigh* the only problem I have with this is the Jacob part. He's pretty much locked in there unless they can say it's not his kid. I don't see Jacob leaving Brynn if it is. Not after what he went through with his own father. It would absolutely destroy what is left of his character. But that's just what is left of my head canon for his story.

Otherwise...more ridges, er, Thane please!

One last thing to add regarding my last large post: I got the idea to use the EC DLC as the delivery package for this Thane specific added content, using Arrival as an example. I'll explain; Arrival integrated some content in the base game, BEFORE you even play the DLC. The dialogue that you have in the Captain's Loft with Admiral Hackett, is the example I was considering for the added content for Thane. Hell, I only played Arrival once, but still got that convo with Hackett in every other game since downloading it, even though I chose not to play the DLC again. This shows that you can add integrated content to a base game, without it interfering with anything.

Just thought I would clarify in case it was needed.

**NOTE** I also don't claim to have a great idea on what the ACTUAL dialogue with Thane and his Doctor should be.....have been spending most my time just trying to figure out how everything would be integrated.....and drawing silly diagrams....HA!

I admit, I am slightly at a loss for Jacob....they really did screw him over as a LI.  But, I too thought about making the kid not his (posted about that once before, using the Jerry Springer ploy..."that's not my baby!!").  But then, I am sure some clever Jacobmancers (or just clever....anybodyImage IPB) could come up with a plausible shift in storyline to make something work.  Again, making it a bit of a sacrifice (not saying him leaving Brynn is the only option here) could make it a bit easier to swallow......eh.  Regardless though, I think this (or something like it....I dunno) could still work for Thane, and as you can imagine, I initially was thinking on how to get Thane back....Jacob admittedly was an afterthought.  Don't feel like I know enough about his whole situation (never "saw" the me3 stuff; just heard about it) to come up with a really good plan for him.Image IPB

On the Jacob stuff, I agree that he could never leave his kid. That would like killing his character twice..

Although... I suppose the "not his kid" scenario could work, but there is also a second option that crossed my mind, what if there is no kid in the first place?

After all we never do see Brynn pregnant do we?

(I know, it's because of resource restraints in reality. But well, it could be used to an advantage in this case)

In my opinion Brynn is one manipulative b!tch already I mean: "I knew he already luved u but he's better off with meee!!11!" (spelling phail intentional in this case)

So, maybe she lied so she could keep Jacob to herself?

Yeah Jerry Springer alert I know....

/Just brainstorming over here..but this is what happens in my headcanon for Kim Shepard

Actually really like your ideas for Jacob.  Since I never actually saw (in game) Jacob's part, I didn't KNOW that Brynn never looked pregnant......so I think your idea could work.....very interesting.

@yama - Thanks lady!Image IPB  I would love if they just tried to offer us some kind of choice.  Hope springs eternal.....sumtin like dat!Image IPB

For Jacob couldn't they just patch it so that Jacob doesn't hook up with Brynn/get her pregnant if Shepard romanced him? That's how it should have been to begin with, imo.

(I don't dislike Kaidan/Ashley, but I guess it's a no-brainer that I agree with Patrick here)

I don't want to get too hopeful but it makes me feel better to know at least one BioWare writer says he would support content for the neglected characters. I hope there are others who feel the same at BW to back him up.

As Cold pointed out, there are ways they could get around Thane dying and not have to change much in the base game. Where there's a will there's a way.

@mnomaha, first you read that Thane post like I did and then you admit to having a porn collection on photobucket, Haha your the most awesome chick ever, you got a dirty mind that puts many dudes dirty minds to shame.

I've got another idea for how to fix the Jacob Romance, it's a bit more evil but, have this all happen off screen.

Have Brynn go crazy at the Crucible thing/place and try and sabotage it because she's secretly been indoctrinated the whole time. She ends up getting killed. Next thing Shep get's an email from Alliance Command telling of Brynn's fate and then Jacob sends you an email all upset saying that he needs to talk with ya.
There the Brynn problem is fixed

Or else ya could go this route, have Brynn leave the Crucible thing/place for a bit, provide some lame half @ss reason for her doing that. Somehow Cerberus finds out and they kill her. Next thing Shep get's an email from Alliance Command telling of Brynn's fate and then Jacob sends you an email all upset saying that he needs to talk with ya.

Either that or Bynn is really a Cerberus Fembot android like Eva, and Brynn was just full of sh!t and lying about being pregnant. Poor Jacob just got played.

I'm so evil, really I am, I hope none of these ideas are used, I'm sure fans of Jacob's romance have way better ideas and fixes.

These ideas are all half @ssed evil ideas provided by some dude that has no knowledge on Jacob Romance/ Wait I have knowledge on romancing myself.... ohh wait that's right the ME character Jacob Taylor sorry pretend you never read that, I got confused and some how thought I was referring to myself when I was saying my name.
