I don't like that Jacob's fans got shafted, I feel for them. Just I don't think it's funny that people got teased with Samara. I tried with Sheploo once and realized it was not going to be, so he moved along with Jack. Never was crazy enough to try Morinth, uh no...but then again, had he went for Morinth, he never would have seen ME3. Probably for the best when I think of it. At least he would have died embracing eternity. Oh wait, my Sheploo never saw ME3, my FemSheps took one for the team and went first. All because I NEEDED to see Thane's romance...boy, it was a painful lesson for me. In the future, I will think twice when I say I NEED to do something.

As a Garrusmancer who would have went back to ME2 to romance Thane had they not did what they did to him, I'm throwing in my support. Jacob too on a minor scale, because even if I wouldn't romance him, what BW did to him was horrid.

I'm sure programming in if Thane is romanced he doesn't die, and if Jacob is romanced, don't have him knock up another woman is not that difficult. Then adding a few e-mails to round everything out.

The solutions above for Thane and Jacob are so simple I'm begginning to think BW shafted femShep on purpose. Especially since ME2 romance barring Garrus and Tali got shafted. Did they really think that people wouldn't notice the lack of choices for femShep, or the forced ending of romances?

@gears (whose name I now know)...yes, I have a very dirty mind. Apparently the people here, and some on facebook, are the only ones who appreciate it. But in all honestly, I just really love the human (Drell) body. Most shapes and sizes and some of the things people do just boggle the mind. Some of those are in photobucket are those kind and some of them are *those* kind. Having said that, I do love me some good pr0nz. *shrugs* What can I say? I'm a very open minded person.

As for Brynn, I was disappointed I couldn't at least b*tch slap her snarky as$. And I didn't even romance Jacob, I just watched it on utube and instantly disliked her. So...dead is good.

Okay, I admit it. I replayed the one where Kaidan hijacked my GarrusShep.  She had a good time. I thought it was well done. I loved the date on the Citadel. Having said that, they could have done a bit more, but at least you guys got something. Well, providing you had the foresight to romance him in ME2. What the hell was bw thinking??

I agree that it probably wouldn't be that difficult. Then again, one would think putting the correct LI in the "ending" flashback wouldn't be to hard either...and we all know how well that worked out. Pretty bad when the fans have to fix the developers mistakes...and actually do a better job.

Well, providing you had the foresight to romance him in ME2. What the hell was bw thinking??

One should not be required to have a crystal ball in order to determine if their romance lasts(or gets a satisfying conclusion) in a trilogy series.

If (and it's a big if at this point) I get into another BW series, I'm going to be afraid that who I chose to romance might be cut out of the game or butchered beyond recognition. Who wants that additional stress when I'm just trying to enjoy a game?

LOL. For this reason and favoritism alone, I refuse to romance Liara.

Yes I can do better than that but do we really need to hear what I'm thinking all the time?  LOL... My mind decided to pull up roots and go reside in Thane's pants.  Did I just say that out loud?  :innocent:  I struggle with my perversions everytime I come into this forum because what I really want to say will get me banned.  

  I did this really gross and dirty short story once for someone on Skype about what Thane does in Life Support after Shep leaves.  Lord, it was graphic, I did leave out any references to liquid expulsions.  No, sorry it I didn't write it down, I told the story from my head and on voice.  I titled it, "Thane's Solo Date."  I did do a Part Two.  "Cerberus Doesn't Believe In Locks For Doors" Guest Starring Shepard.

@DineBoo...it especially sucks when we were told all LI's were going to receive equal treatment and have satisfying conclusions (or something like that). Apparently I have an entirely different opinion on what is satisfying. This was not it.

That's also the reason I refuse Liara each and every time. Besides the fact that they made the entire squad of ME2 obsolete, I refuse all attempts (and there are many) at bw's attempt to shove *their* canon romances in my lap. I do not want the VS or Liara. If I did, I would have romanced them on my own. and let us talk about the word "romance" for a moment...perhaps we should buy the biggest dictionary known to man and mail it to Canada...because I certainly didn't feel much romance in ME3, at least not with my LOVE interest.

LOL...no but I imagine I can recreate it with words.  I can relive every dirty thought I've ever had regarding Thane with perfect clarity.    See that Thane, see what I did there?  And you thought your Drell memory was so special, you have gravely mistaken the power of dirty thoughts...about you.  

It was more like an explosion, the story had him not, hmmmm....let's say releasing himself since Irikah.  He probably could have taken out a whole Reaper Fleet.

This is why I avoided my Cabin, I didn't go up there unless they forced me too...like during the nightmare scenes.  Instead I opted for this approach....


I spent my time in Life Support, to take a break, think about what I was going to do next...but mostly cry.

I know I'll sound like an achievement-dork for saying this, but it bothers the hell out of me that you don't even get the Paramour achievement for trying to rekindle your relationship with Thane and Jacob. Granted, Jacob doesn't give you much of a chance, but...

I'm pissed enough that Thane and Jacob got such poor treatment, but jeez. That, to me, felt like Bioware was saying "They're not romances anymore, sorry."

BitterShep wanted to get some aggression out of her system and couldn't find a living soul to have angry sex with.

So I woke up unblanketed, in my military grade undies, alone and unsatisfied because the Drell that I LOVED was murdered via poor writing.

@mnomaha As a Garrusmancer I really don't want to complain about that scene, especially compared to what others didn't get, but I was really irked with it. The romance was awesome. However, two seconds of chat before the stupid ghost kid appears? Really? Same thing happens with Tali. I understand them not wanting to deal with Garrus' alieness when it comes to romance scenes, but when I see clips of what Liara got in that scene, I'm annoyed with her even more.

With Sam, she gets a few convos before you get a male fantasy lesbian sex scene. And for what I hear, you get more dialog with her character if you didn't do the scene. BW couldn't take the time to show Sam buying chess board, or worrying about family similar to Cortez?

Everyone, even unpopular romances, should have gotten a Liara quality romance. Period. No LI should be taken away, none should die. And if they "have" to, it needs to be across the board. If femShep has lovers taken away, so should maleShep.

Cameron woke up alone and in her undies too. I felt like they were jabbing the knife in further too. They made it a point to pan out so that I could see that her bed was very empty on the other side. Thane-kkkkk you sooooo much BW for reminding me that you offed Cameron's sexy drell. Her, Hope and Faith would have remained alone. Malificent would have jumped Vega in a heartbeat out of anger and pain. But then again, Mali would also jump Javik too, or Joker. Kaidan and Garrus are out as she Virmire'd Kaidan and well, left Garrus unloyal and had him lead the 2nd team. Heck, Mali had some serious lust going on for TIM, she would have taken that opportunity too had it presented itself. She would have hit it with KL too, then killed him right after...for Thane.

There have been many things that have caused my face to twist into the horrified WTF face but none ever got a bigger reaction from me than the time I read that someone actually wanted Kolyat on the table as an LI. This of course was mentioned in this context, "With Thane and Jacob being taken away from FemShep, how about Vega, Joker, or even Kolyat." Oh yes..that's EXACTLY what ALL my FemShep's would do...nail Kolyat after banging his father. Really? I think even Mali would have an issue with that. "Oh Kolyat, yes I loved your Father, I still do but he'd want me to move on. Take your clothes off please." NO NO NO!!!!

Femshep should have woken up with a naked Garrus (or ya know so far as the game shows) propped up on the other pillow smoking a pipe, and he looks over at her after she wakes up and says "Rough night? You want to to engage in some Turian per-mission exercises? I also got another pipe if you'd like to smoke after we're done honey"

LOL I was actually referring to the human species in real life at that point. As for the game, I personally didn't mind the all male models. I tend to prefer them, although I do appreciate beauty equally between the sexes. Not necessarily into shagging the women, but I do appreciate a good pair.

As for Thane "romancing" himself... ... ... sorry, my mind went someplace for a minute there... anyways, I would totally watch that.

Liara fans are Liara fans. I can't begrudge anyone their LI, but I do get all forms of pissed off when the "canon" fanbase gets snarky (and downright vicious) when we discuss ours. Especially the ones the only ever romanced the blue bewbness.

Yes, I am a vile thinker.  I embraced it a long time ago.  I will write down my dirty thoughts if I find that I can no longer contain them.  I use to write fanfic all the time but stopped for a long time.  I ignored what my thoughts were asked to do for a long time yes...then.... sexy green drell drops from the vent....mind starts to flood with dirty thoughts... fingers start to twitch... microsoft word opens.... thoughts turn into filthy stories.... 

It took a long time for me to start again, as I use to only do it under the influence of alcohol and a lot of it.  Now, I just don't care.  My ex husband had issues with my dirty mind.  My current one, well he doesn't care as long as I'm happy.  Not many men will willingly watch you walk out the door, get into a car, and take off for lord knows how many days to go to an event called "The Gathering of the Juggalos."  Then smile when you walk in the door with face paint on and throw your Faygo, mud, and grass stained clothes on the floor and proclaim they have missed you.  Besides, when he does decide to say something about my porn stories about Thane, I walk over to the closet, throw a PlayBoy at him and tell him to go busy himself.

I had one with Hope and Thane on a beach about a year after the Reapers were defeated....Hope was totally watching him...of course he was watching her too...I am a complete pig and I'll just say it now so I don't have to later.  With Hope and Thane everything is on the table except extra people being involved.  Mali would but I haven't written anything for her only thought about it.  I should just start separating these things and put them up somewhere.  Right now they are all mushed together in one very long Word document because I really wrote them so that I could get the thoughts out of my head and move along to other dirty thoughts.  Hope made Thane dress up in her undies before and that was an interesting little story.  He's standing there and says to her, "it puts the lotion on it's skin."  Like I said, there isn't a place I haven't gone.

But I don't think you, and others, would be saying deal with it when it comes to dealing with people who have valid complaints. I know Garrus isn't for everyone, and he has points in the fact he can be killed off. Not plot armored Liara.

Regarding the romance scene, I said in another thread that there is a lot that can be done clothed. Garrus wasn't in armor. Why they didn't do this, or at least change the scene around to tailor to Garrus and Tali's strengths, I'll never know.

Liara has enough fluff. I'm irritated enough as it is when she shows up after Shep's bad dream instead of Garrus, who told me to get some sleep. Or her popping up in my cabin period when I couldn't get Garrus to come up, or have Tali come up more and chat.

All romances got shortchanged in someway as compared to Liara's. Two were butchered (Thane/Jacob), others shortchanged with content (Miranda/Jack/Ashley), and others didn't get consideration in the romance scene (Tali/Garrus).

Liara needs no more content. Everyone else does, with some more than others.

Funny that you mention romance scenes, as I was thinking about that today. I do a lot of video editing and in-game cinematography in both ME1/ME2. Filming what already exists (from different angles/FOV), in order to give a new take on things is one of my favorite pass times.

They could have easily done romance scenes for Tali and Garrus, it just takes tasteful creativity. Having the 'underwear' is completely unnecessary if you know how to play camera angles. For some reason they did it with Liara, but not with anyone else (gee, I wonder why).

This kind of technique would be nice for Garrus/Tali. Showing a hand on a shoulder, or just vague semi-unfocused shots that still convey a feeling of closeness. For Tali, I may have even shown quick glimpses of her shedding the suit, culminating into the reveal of her face.

I think what they forgot is love scenes don't necessarily have to be about full-blown sex, but intimacy. Implied things, hurried glimpses, subtle physical contact, etc. can be just as beautiful and arousing in it's own right.

As I see it, a lot of potential wasted. What do I know, though?  I only did something similar with stuff they already created...

When I did the romance with Garrus I was a bit surprised that he was already dressed and not still in bed. I think those love scenes was just lazy on Biowares part. Except when it comes to Liara. They seem to have no issues when it comes to her. It's just like the flashback scenes. There is no good reason we didn't see the LI we chose
