Protesting the Poor Treatment of Thane Krios' Romance

I agree about Garrus/Tali. With Garrus, I would have settled for femShep jumping on top of Garrus with the adorkableness he always had before the fade to black or the hug we got at the Citadel date and move toward the bed before the fade to black. Or the much debated headbump from ME2. The two second convo was, as you said, lazy. Where was the foreplay?
As someone who does write adult fanfiction for another fandom I would have liked an idea of how stuff worked with Garrus so I could write something on my own.
Tali needed more too since she showed up so late in the game. And a lot of her talk is bugged to the point I had to go into Gibbed to get her and Ken and Gabby's conversations. All the ME2 romances did. At least the VS got to show skin and foreplay.
And yet Liara needs more content. *smh*
::sigh:: I so wanted to experience a Thane romance just so I could get another flavor of the game, but I don't think I can do that to myself. Jacob (poor Jacob) was sort of easy to write off, but I liked Thane, even though I didn't romance him.
And I certainly didn't want to talk about the VS in my one and only conversation with him.

As a Garrusmancer I really don't want to complain about that scene, especially compared to what others didn't get, but I was really irked with it. The romance was awesome. However, two seconds of chat before the stupid ghost kid appears? Really? Same thing happens with Tali. I understand them not wanting to deal with Garrus' alieness when it
I completely agree. I understand what you are getting at. I don't think they should have gone shy with both Garrus and Tali. Yes, they are both alien.. but come on, they had the chance to show what they believe was under the armor and clothes. My bro is a huge Tali-mancer and he was completely annoyed with the final scene.
They could have easily done the research on how most of us felt these characters looked like. I can easily post a bunch of art pieces that people were happy with in matter of minutes. Lazy Bioware.. was just being lazy.
I just feel that all of the romances should have been equal to Liara's. No romance should have gotten shafted due to popularity or if the L.I was an alien. I believe for most of us, our L.I's was a big part of the game. Everyone should have gotten a great romance.

That's pretty much what Bioware promised and they failed to deliver. I'm not really that surprised by what they gave Liare. They have made it clear that she is their favorite. I just hate what they did to the ME2 LI's.

Anyhoo, I am going to make a suggestion, but can understand if you don't have the time for it. At the very least, do a ME2 run through with Thane as your LI. Don't worry about whether or not you feel you could import it. After the SM, just go up to the Captain's Loft, call Thane up, and settle in for a nice Thane-cuddle! Then find yourself some good Thane/Shep fanfic (many of us would be more than happy to recommend a few), and assume a completely different story for your Thanemance. At the very least, you get to RP something new (and quite touching IMO), and at the best, BW gives us new content and a way to extend/cure Thane's life (and goes without saying; romance is vastly improved) and you have another import you can upload to me3.

I know I'll sound like an achievement-dork for saying this, but it bothers the hell out of me that you don't even get the Paramour achievement for trying to rekindle your relationship with Thane and Jacob. Granted, Jacob doesn't give you much of a chance, but...
I'm pissed enough that Thane and Jacob got such poor treatment, but jeez. That, to me, felt like Bioware was saying "They're not romances anymore, sorry."
Sorry luna I missed this earlier. Yes, this is just another stab in the gut for some of us. It's wrong on so many levels.

That makes no sense. I can't believe that Bioware gave Ken & Gabby get more content than Thane or Jacob.
Let's also not forget that they couldn't even bother to put Thane in the guide.

Oh I know that they promised equality and failed to deliver. What I just don't get is that Thane was their golden boy in ME2 and they just slaughtered him in ME3. Talk about not taking pride in their own characters. What happen to Thane should have not happen... along with all the other romances that they screwed over.
Sadly, I am starting to hate Liara.

And don't forget the un-romance that was Samara. She should have been romanceable. she got what...one line for someone that loved her?
Thanks for the support DineBoo and you are always welcome to come chat with us, we don't consider it hijacking.
That stupid line that is supposed to be a continuation of things goes like this, when ya talk with Samara at the Citadel, when your all done with the dialogue options and chosse the farewell type one, she takes Sheps hand and says this "Your time is precious, spend it wisely and with those you care most for" and you don't get to reply just sti there all dumb like and heartbroken, looking out the widow. I have a pic of my Shep right after that scene happened the look on his face well he's got like these huge puppy dog eyes and he looks all sad and hurt.
I'll have to go get it and post it here,

Yeah, you gotta love the part:
Thane: "What are you doing here?"
Shepard: "I came to visit Kaidan, he got hurt protecting me."
Me: "NOOOOOOO! She's here to see you! And you... sent her a letter? Remember?"
Though I do think it's sweet and very much like Thane to offer his protection to the VS.

Exactly.
He was heavily advertised in ME2 and put on the cover. In ME3 it was as if they had no idea who this character is.
We have said that we don't believe that Thane even had one writer. He was probably written by people who didn't even play ME2.
As for Liara I'm pretty indifferent to her. Bioware can pretend all they want that they don't play favorites, but Liara is proof that they do.

It's quite fascinating finding out stuff that happened in romances you never did,and man did BW really work their magic on Thane and pulled out all the stops making him appealing to the ladies.
Oh and yeah about Liara, before ME3 I could stand her, since ME3 and all those times she popped up invading my Shep's space, and running to his cabin as soon as he woke from a nightmare each time. Yeah I'm so burnt and sick of Liara, I'd be happy if I could turn her into a war asset and not have her on my ship.
From what I've been hearing about Kaidan's content in ME3 BW put a bunch of effort into it and short changed Ashley a sh!t ton.
I also know that back in ME1 both Kaidan and Ash were intended to be bi. In ME3 they made Kaidan bi but didn't do that with Ashley. Laziness.
@mnomaha "Garrus smoking a pipe...I actually can visualise a hooka instead of a pipe" Did it ever say that was an old Turian tradition? Because that sounds so much cooler and is way more easy to see than the pipe.
"I had no interest in Sam and certainly wasn't going down with "A varren looks better" Allers. Sorry, Anya is very much into man meat.
@DineBoo, BW should have done a naked Garrus in the ME Art book there is already a nude Turian model that they had available since ME1.
Oh and the Sam thing I wouldn't call it a made fantasy scene, given Sam takes a shower in her bra and underware and FemShep goes in there and stands behind her there is a bit of kissing and then black screen, it had no uplifting effect on me. For the Record I had to Youtube that one, and I was rather disappointed with the content in it.
As I said early in this thread all LI's death should be optional, that one character is extremely important to everyone's own game. Don't matter if it's Garrus, Thane, Tali, Steve, Samantha, Kelly, Jacob, Vega, Samara, Miranda, Jack, Ashley, Kiadan, (did I miss anyone?) they all should have got just as much attention as that whacky stalker Liara, both throughout the game and in the content of the (implied) sex scene, if Liara's gonna go from holding Shep's hand on his/her bed fully clothed one minute to walking over to the bed naked the next, there all the LI's should get naked in the sex scene.
@Utaker, yeah I remember feeling the same way when it showed Jake Shep waking up alone (yeah I named him after myself but thanks to BW added Jacob T I had to shorten to Jake). I was like ohh yeah that's real nice let me get a good look at the empty bed next him because ya forced me to sit there all dumb like and look out the widow with Samara. I totally woulda renegade interupted that scene and pulled her in close and gave her a huge kiss right there in front of the whole Citadel and took her back to the Normandy.
On top of that BW didn't even have the decency to have my Shep sleeping naked so I could at least see my virtual in game bare @ss.
Ohh yeah about the Kolyat comment, I remember seeing that comment, I think I even posted a reply like "WTF is wrong with you? BW's supposed to be like oh yeah because we killed Thane, will let ya romance his son. WTF? That is a dumb idea and I think it would make things worse"

I noticed that only happens with Thane. The conversation seems to revolve around Kaidan fo rthe first few minutes you talk to him. Then he starts talking about nothing else but his illness. I wanted to know what he had been doing. Was he in the hospital the entire six months? What happened to him after Shepard turned herself in? We never get to ask him those questions.
Welcome to the thread DinBoo.

I don't know how she got to Earth either. The game made it seem like it was Shepards dream in life to return to the Alliance. You had no control over that at all. I found that more than a little annoying.
We were able to ask everyone else what they had been doing this whole time, but not Thane. I guess we are to believe that he's been sitting at that window the whole time.

I like to think that Thane realized what the writers had planned for him, created an elaborate plan, and cloned himself so someone else could sit at that window and get the lame story arc. He can apologize to Shep for the deception when ME3's done and he's clear of writer tyranny.
