I actually had a discussion with my brother on how BW could stand to make a profit on Me2 character content via DLC this afternoon and he came up with an interesting idea:

He:"Well it isn't particularly business-savvy to pass up revenue like that.

Sure, I don't know the specific figures for DLC development and exactly how much profit game developers make from DLC sales, but given how pretty much every ME2 L.I. fan is discontent at what they got in ME3 (and that's not a small group of fans), I think it safe to assume that they'd profit quite a lot.
I mean, I want DLC content with Miranda just as much as you want Thane content.
True, Miranda got more than both Thane and Jacob, but I...was not content with her ME3 content.
Heh, you know what? Those fan projects youv'e been working on?"

Me: "Yes, you mean the Thane fanbook and the LIA projects right?"

He: "Yep, you know an idea for these projects could be something like gathering up signatures from people willing to pay for L.I. content and chalk up the interest for different characters, and then using maths to calculate what kind of revenue it would mean for BW if they made DLC. Because it's rather hard to argue with hard numbers after all."

So..crazy tracy idea?

Idk.

Does anyone know what BW actually makes of individual DLC sales?

(idk if it's different for PC/Xbox360/PS3 though...)

This is in fact a great idea! I would be totally into this. It should be even easy to collect and to present to them. We even have something like that which comes along with the Thane Fanbook: the Poll of Annie :) I can bring up a hint with this poll in the Fanbook - but I think this should be an extra Project since it really affects all LI's. You know were to find me if you want to do something like that and need help right? ;)

EDIT for top:

Since Squee's pics are just the love :)

No they didn't get the memo. I worked retail for quite some time before moving on to something better. However, when I think back, I would get written up for pissing off a customer. (Which I did alot.. because I can't shut my mouth for nothing). lol. Eventually I got fired. Best thing that ever happen to me. Not a good thing for Bioware though.

It's about time they get off their high horse and realize that they messed up. Besides, I don't think an extended dlc on the endings are going to make things better. I had a good laugh when they announced it at PAX. The people who sent like 400 (something like that) cupcakes to Bioware, they are going to have to send a few hundren more now. lol.

lol I agree, the Extended cut DLC is like putting icing on a really cr*ppy cake. You can try to cover it up all you want but in the end it still tastes like cr*p. I think its a big waste of the time and effort fans have put into the Retake: ME movement. Bioware claims it will satisfy the fans of the franchise but then again they don't have the best track record for keeping their promises...So I'm not holding my breath on that one.

Its a shame all that delicious cupcake goodness went to waste. But at least the children enjoyed them.

Well at least they are feeding the children <lighthearted sarcasm>

Haha... I couldn't describe it any better. Maybe if they threw some decorations on the cake as well, it may fool some people into eating it.

Bioware made so many promises and just flat out failed to deliver. I felt like we were lied too so we all still be willing to buy the game. If I knew what they had "in store for us" I would kept my money and went to the bar instead. A night of crazy stupid drunkness would have been a better experience than ME3. lol.

@yamainu1984: aw, thanks! <3

I mean 480 (I think) who would buy it and over 100 with probably, let's say 10 Dollar each DLC:

58 000 Dollar.

And I am quite sure there would be a lot more people out there since my boyfriend for example has every single DLC of ME but he never steps in here.

Sorry for jumping in mid point or whatever, I've missed quite a lot, But I read several of the posts and I had this thing hit me that needed saying before I forget it.

About the new squad mates vs, the ME2 vs the ME3 squad mates and it being done at the expense of the ME2 cast

Given this is the finale game, and all I had been a Fan of Liara, and then ME3 came out and it felt like she was the only other squad mate on the Normandy. I've never been one who handles something being forced upon me, very well, in fact I tend to reject it, grow to despise it and hate it.

Sadly that's what happened in ME3 with Liara for me. Also about the ME1 and EDI I'm starting to get rather sick of EDI, because she feels much the same.

Anyway If I could chose my own squad mates to have my back in ME3, out of the whole cast of Squad mates in the series with only 6 total. I'd go with the ones I'm most attached to and enjoy the most, which would be this
1.Samara
2.Thane
3.Garrus
4.Jack
5.
and the last spots are open. In fact when I played ME3 I found myself taking the squadmates I liked most out on all the missions, so Garrus came on every single mission and the other spot often went to Javik or James Vega.

I've never been found of Tali. She's just like that carry on I never asked for but she always comes back, it's not bad at all because Garrus is the same way, it's just I've never really felt close to her character, her voice bugged me.

Anyway I'm sorry for that whole random stupid nonsense that hit me, and really has nothing to do with much other than the characters I felt closest to in ME, and many were ME2 cast members including Thane.

^ What If Bioware had made all LI options available as permanent Squadmates and the rest strictly resigned to cameos..would anyone have perferred that instead? There's 8 spots on your squad in ME3 and 9 romancable characters total in the entire series.(( from squad )) Thats one more than what made it into the final game...not that big of a stretch I'd say. There would still be some people who were unhappy, but the majority of fans I think would be okay with it. It' d look like this:

1.Thane             5. Garrus        9.Ashley/ Kaidan
2.Samara          6. Tali
3.Miranda          7.Liara
4. Jack               8.  Jacob

Maybe, its a little far fetched though.  Thoughts?

Well I would totally be with you here. Having Vega, Javik and EDI along was nice - but I really have to say: if I would be able to get Thane, Jack, Miranda, Samara or Jacob instead I would totally replace them. I have never asked for them and they didn't get that near to me like the ME2 squad. But I admit this could be because I am always thinking of them like they "stole" one slot for the ME2 chars.

Bioware just wasn't fair here. They should have treated all of us equal. :pinched:

"All aboard the love boat!"

(Sorry I couldn't resist)

Hmm..that's actually a great idea!

But...but...I'd miss Javik! :(

I can't get that grumpy prothean out of my mind...or squad for that matter....

And...my Renegade Masha Shepard would shove her Locust SMG in my face and demand that Javik be brought aboard and be romancable.

And I'd comply beacause a) Javik is cool. B) Can't have enough maliens. Really you cant.

Actually it would balance things out between the number of female/male alien L.I.'s with Liara, Samara and Tali vs Thane, Garrus and Javik. (I know asari aren't technically "female" but meh)

/Sorry my adoration for the Elder Troll completely highjacked my post. Back on the topic of Thane: <ridges>

That's pretty much a matter of personal taste,Draining Dragon;if you don't like Thane, totally your prerogative, but you can't generalise.

Furthermore, the projects mentioned above-if you bother to read from the top of this page-as well as various polls, LI-relevant surveys held in this forum and others and overall reaction of fans show that a lot of people like Thane, and a lot, actually!

 First thing I thought of when I read that--> tigerlilytoph.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/lol-captain1.jpg
Edit: Yup, I think anything would be better than the ME3 experience at this point..which is sad but true. It's like a cruel prank is being played on the fans.
I'm still waiting for the episode of Punk'd where they reveal ME3 was a terrible joke and the real one will be released soon. Which obviously isn't going to happen but I can dream though can't I?

@Yamainu1984 I couldn't agree more. It wasn't so much that I disliked the characters themselves-
(( except EDI )) just the fact that they were replacing our ME2 characters. I spent so much time with Thane and Samara in ME2 and developed a genuine affection for their characters. To shove them aside in ME3 to make room for new ones is just wrong.

@Emeraldfern Yay for Javik! :wizard: It would' ve been interesting to see how a romance with him panned out. Mostly cuz it's hard to imagine him having an intimate side, y'know with all that talk about hurling squaddies out the airlock n' such. lol

Indeed. For the Empire! ಠಠ_ಠಠ

I do have a headcanon featureing him and one of my Sheps haha.
Then again that Shepard is so damn Renegade that she almost matches Javik's troll factor. Rivalmance ftw!

And shameless plug but...here is the short ShepxJavik mumbo-jumbo that I posted for the LIA: Tribute:

https://docs.google....NiieuSbb8w/edit

/*Ehem* back to our beloved drell...

Besides my current ShepxThane smut art projects, I've begun learning how to extract and pose ME2/ME3 models! Image IPB

(Which may or may not help me out while painting said smut art Image IPB)

I've also got some comic shenannigans planned for the aforementioned models. That is, provided I actually learn how to do it properly, I've only just extracted the models now so now I "only" need to import them in 3dsMax, put textures on them and finally pose them!

Hey, BTW, if anyone is around (up, not busy, sober....<cheeky grin>), I posted an idea in @squeegee's Poster Thread. She is looking for new ideas to send WITH the poster to BW. I know it's long, but if your bored........oh, and if you don't feel like commenting on it, don't feel you need to (obviously)....HA, mostly I'm interested in whether or not it is coherent......between seething rage I have been feeling the last couple days, and a bit too much....grape juice...yeah, that's it......I am not sure I made much sense.

Then again, maybe I'm not making any sense right now.....blah...... :P

@ShadyGerbilz Heck YEAH BRING IT PLEASE! I'd be happy,I'd be ecstatic with that!!!

@Emeraldfern just out of curiosity, is there a Samara model to be extracted, (Likelihood zero given Non Romanciabe), but then again, Miranda didn't have much skin to show, Jack's level of exposed skin remained the same, and that's it for the females.

Not sure about the dudes, if they get naked in the romance scenes.I do know that Garrus walks up into FemShep's cabin with an object that looks, ahem rather suggestive and is even placed in a rather suggestive spot, however what that object was I never did find out.
