Hmmm...Tink and Leng, a secret lust filled past. I don't think I could even write it out. I would be well, sick to say the least. I wonder if Kai let Tink wear his mask? Was it a sex prop? Was Leng referred to as pathetic by a dying Tink not because he was pathetic but out of anger? Mad that Leng moved on, perhaps.

Poor Kolyat having to stand there and pretend that is his father. No wonder he asked Shep if she remembered him, his mind was so blown and confused by the farce he was going to have to try and pull off. Or maybe Uncle Tink made some death bed confessions about Leng that has scarred poor Kolyat for life.

The prayer wasn't for Shepard's soul, it was for the wickedness she was about to experience when she realized she kissed Tink! Thane knew that once she found out the truth even the reapers would flee at her wrath. Thane was at Huerta alright...hiding. He was recovering from his very intensive surgery. He went about it wrong but his intentions were pure. He needed to be fully fit to amaze everyone with his real entrance. As Shepard lay in that rubble, he falls from the (oh what can he fall from, the sky? a ledge?), doesn't matter....he just comes out of nowhere.

She looks up and sees Thane standing before her, hand out to help her up...too bad the explosion caused his super tight leathers to disintegrate. Cameron reaches up to grab his hand but is too disoriented so she grabs a handful of ridges instead. The End. And it was a crappy ME3 ending..but the ridges make up for it.

And that would be the only reason that Kolyat *forgot* that Shepard met him before...cuz ya know...Drell memories being what they are. Awwww poor Kolyat. That ain't ever going away.

That is, of course, why Thane was using a pseudo name. Tink took the Krios banner...and used it for a cape while running through the citadel, not stopping to make sure Kolyat was safe. He wanted a piece of Leng. Which piece I will certainly not speculate about.

And really? Falls from the sky? Perish the thought. He collar whips himself in front of Shep. Behold the power of Thane's bulging armour!

Coffee and chocolate...not the best of choices for lunch.

I just wanted to point this out in this thread as it seemed the best place to do so. Given many of the first responders, fan bases, groups, projects and original ideas came from the Thane Fan Base, and mainly the female fan base. And now with the whole poster nightmare going around I really felt this was the best time and place to say it and get it out here.

The SINGLE BIGGEST reason I've not throw many project ideas out there in the Samara fan group is because they were all copy cat, cookie cutter versions of what the Thane fans came up with and had going on.

I've always liked and respected unique original ideas as opposed to "Oh hey it's a good idea, why the hell not copy it and do one of my own. It's totally unoriginal and it's akin to stealing, or plagiarism. But a good idea is worth stealing hehehe"

So when I saw the Miranda Poster project pop up (a copy cat, cookie cutter version of the Thane Poster Project), and than went into that thread and saw that BW people had jumped on over there like it was the second coming of Christ and were quick to treat it like a giant gold nugget from the heavens above, and offer they support and insight and praise and encouragement.

Well it really P!SEDD ME OFF BADLY. What P!ssed me off so bad and the most was how BW didn't even acknowledged the Thane project, the ORIGINAL. They could have just as easly went and became members of the Thane group, hell they didn't even have to be active just maybe become a member and post a simple "Hello everyone glad to be a member of this group and I am enjoying watching what your are creating in support of this character you love so well."

IF they had done something so simple as that before running off to shove their heads up Miranda's @ss yet again, I wouldn't be offended in anyway what so ever.

The complete lack of acknowledgement of the original source of the idea just p!sses me off extremely bad.

Sadly this happens all to often and hence why I've never been able to bring myself to suggesting an idea for a Samara project that's only a cookie cutter version of something else.

Hell I can at least say that if BW did run over and praise our project like they are doing with the Miranda fans, I can safely say I'd tell them they should go and show their support to the original source the Thane fans. IF they didn't do that withing the week I'd kick them from the group.

I'm really would, I hate it when someone copies someone elses idea and gets all the credit and praise for a copy cat and unoriginal idea.

But than again when ones been burned and gutted by very similar displays of praise well things like this become a whole new and completely different sense of frustration with other factors that help fuel it all.

OK I'm done and spent ranting this all.

I agree completly Gears! 

They could at the very least say something simple as Gears stated before running off to praise a copycat movement.

Or, if they have no plans for Thane at the present time, why can't they be honest and say that too? Give fans of Thane something tangable they can process and workout for themselves. If it cost them fans in the future, so be it, but at least that's bearable to being ignored while everyone else gets tweets and encouragement.

::Sigh:: Who wants to bet that the excuse for not talking to Thane fans is that "They're so hostile", even when what caused fans to be upset in the first place is lack of information and connection, especially compared to what other character fans get?

I had a vision at work today. It would make the perfect comic.

I am looking into a conference room, with several well known *possibly hated at this point* suits. Each squadmate is standing behind their "writer" (parenthesis because the word is used very lightly). They are discussing *gasp* Miss Effect 3.

The squaddies are starting to look nervous. I can hear Jack, "but you gave me boobs!", Samara "this situation definitely falls into my code", Garrus "scoped and dropped", Tali "this is a good situation", Miranda "that could work", Zaeed "But I'm a goddamn hero!", Kasumi "Good thing I have a grey box", Grunt "No, I am KROGAN", Mordin "Need to adjust schedule. No more free time", Kaidan "huh?", Ashley "Well, we are human"...

Thane looks on...Siha, what about us? Don't worry Thane, I will never forget you, even though they have forgotten us.

Just then, then delivery guy walks in and lays several boxes on the conference room table.

Next screen...open boxes are scattered throughout the room, all the squaddies are standing in a circle glaring at Liara..

And we see the everyone at the meeting blowing up their blue dolls...

It was actually much better in my head...but that was probably the chocolate influence at the time.

Tash, I understand your rage.

It is very heartbreaking to see things like this happen. But I have to look at the positives, the book at PAX, at least they acknowledged it and touched it. While not solely dedicated to Thane, he was the driving force behind it. Whether they actually read anything in it is another matter. While not one person from BW has spoken up in a group or thread that is Thane related, we must all be proud of the work we put into it. We were the first and let's be honest, we really are the most persistent.

I know we tend to go off on a tangent about ridges and everything else perverse about Thane but maybe it's time to make something that steps away from that. Maybe someone has looked in our threads and said, "Oh man, Thane is all about hormone induced women" and didn't know what to say. While we have kept it within the boundaries of the forum, who really wants to discuss something serious about his character if we go off about well...ridges. I'm not bashing anyone because I am very guilty of doing it. Very Guilty. So the next time something is going to be done for the support of Thane, maybe it's time to stick to the seriousness of it and go out on a limb, invite them in and promise to behave ourselves. We have so many other threads, groups, whatever to let loose. Maybe we could try that approach. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe it's one too many painkillers talking. Maybe they just don't give a flying ratz azz.

Honestly, we have to be one of the friendliest threads on the boards. We've converted a few unbelievers and gotten rid of a few trolls.

But honestly, I feel like there's maybe what...20 of us that actually post consistently. How is that going to help? I just wish people would post more. I know for a fact that Thane has more fans than just us.

And perhaps we need to take our projects to a private group and keep the subjects there. And I mean, as much as I love all our groups, we would probably do well with one centralised group for all our projects.

Like I said, I'm doped up at the moment and I just got done watching Party Monster....word of advice, it is not one of Seth Green's greatest film moments. And well, I was ticked off by a comment my old man said earlier, I raged about how we are ignored while others are not. He snapped at me with, "I wonder why, look at what you talk about. Who can take you seriously?" I had a sensitive moment which is rare because I very rarely let his words bother me. I normally just nod and pretend to listen. He apologized for hurting my feelings but a part of me wondered if what he said was true.

Should we do something special like add so many pictures of Miri so we have a 100+ new pages and are closer to 2000 and we do it all over again"

I' saw that comment and posted a reply to it that read "WTF" and people started spamming comments wanting to know what the WTF Miranda news was I was posting about. Because my WTF reply could only be about WTF Miranda news and not about the post I quoted in my WTF? reply post.

That isn't necessarily true.
There are several fan threads that talk about things worse than ridges, and Bioware still talks to them.
The old ME2 Tali thread talked about nothing but garbage and they alwasy got attention. Most of it negative, but at least Bioware was paying attention. The Miranda thread sometimes just talks about her ass, but the mods will go in there as well.
For some stupid reason they keep ignoring us and I doubt it is because we talk about ridges.

I can safely say that had this thread been mostly ridges I'd have been gone a long time ago, there is good humor, rather well thought out ideas on how to fix Thane in ME3, and pondering how it went wrong. Trust me this thread is anything but a raging fan girls full of hormone induced sexual talk focusing on ridges and other naughty bits.

I honestly thing BW lost every single person who understood both Thane and Samara's characters, and they didn't want to find any suitable writers from them and put any effort into it. I think EA hired a few too many of the people on the ME3 team and their hooks went deep into the whole BW ME team, and we ended up with action mode, MP, and a p!ss poor excuss called ME3.  I also think that the game can be salvaged with  sizable expansion packs and huge DLC's that bring this game back to what it should have been.

I'd rather pay more money for something that is of the highest quailty than something that's just of average quailty. I'd spend another $60 bucks on content that if implamented and down right would make ME3 what it should have been.

Because where there is a will there is a way.

I don't go in the Miranda thread and it's not just hers it's any thread where I see a consistent pattern of quote pyramids.   And not just 1-3 quotes per post, I mean the really long ones.  Hey, I'm getting old, don't go playing with my eyes like that.    Funny thing about Tali, I asked my old man if he would romance Tali and he said, "uhhhh no, her voice sounds like Courtney's (my 10 year old)."  I guess that's a turn off for him.  

I don't go in Liara's just because I have no reason too, I don't care for her much so I'd have nothing constructive to add to it.  To be honest, I've stayed out Garrus's just out of Romance Envy.  Yes, shallow but true.  I'm really not at a point where I can watch other people be happy in their ME3 romance.  Perhaps things would be different if I didn't have 4 FemShep's with the same LI.  

Truth be told I had tons of Sheps...Allison, Amber, Victoria, Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Elyn, Bella, and probably some others but they were just throw away play throughs.  Done out of boredom...they all romanced Thane.  See the issue I have.  I don't even have a throw away FemShep that romanced anyone else.  I blame BW for writing such a good character.  I also blame them for destroying it too.

hahahaha, sorry about the Mt Dew though. Sadly, I can't find that here in New Zealand, or Diet Dr. Pepper. Just plain old Diet Coke for me. Actually, that's not entirely true, I did find a couple cans of Dr. Pepper once. And they were only $2.50 each. *rolls eyes* Yeah, didn't get that.

But, haha, I made a funny. I was I could get someone to put that into a comic. It could be epic!

As for the puppy...d'awwww puppies are awesome! But you do have to take them outside...

Hahahaha great description Gears But yeah they seem to jump at the chance to praise anything non-Thane related.. <_<

@JECW I don't know if I'm overreacting but I think most of the devs, even if it's just subconsciously, seem to kind of be put off by Thane, be it because he's pretty spiritual or terminally ill.. I dunno but it seems that Garrus and Kaidan are more accessible because Garrus's character as a whole is very human despite how alien he might look and Kaidan is.. well, human.
I think Thane might be just too alien for most people, his looks and his beliefs/nature (I understand that there must be plenty of sexy, stoic spiritual men out there but there is something different about Thane ). And also most of the devs appear to be (straight) males so would understandably prefer talking/reading about Liara's and Tali's butts than reading about Thane's ridges -__- (don't mind me blatantly stereotyping men here.. )
