Protesting the Poor Treatment of Thane Krios' Romance

Remember when Weekes wrote that small essay about CF and his friend...I wonder how said friend would feel to know is he is so easily disposable? I would imagine it wouldn't be pleasant.

I love how they just assume that terminally ill people would prefer to see/not be upset by terminally ill characters in a role playing game dying without any sort of development to that character's story or personality. Any one with any sort of empathy or experience with illness in their life can say that's not true. Lucky that most of the ME fanbase seem to not give a flaming crap about Thane's romance >

So when I saw the Miranda Poster project pop up (a copy cat, cookie cutter version of the Thane Poster Project), and than went into that thread and saw that BW people had jumped on over there like it was the second coming of Christ and were quick to treat it like a giant gold nugget from the heavens above, and offer they support and insight and praise and encouragement.
Hahahaha great description GearsBut yeah they seem to jump at the chance to praise anything non-Thane related.. <_<
@JECW I don't know if I'm overreacting but I think most of the devs, even if it's just subconsciously, seem to kind of be put off by Thane, be it because he's pretty spiritual or terminally ill.. I dunno but it seems that Garrus and Kaidan are more accessible because Garrus's character as a whole is very human despite how alien he might look and Kaidan is.. well, human.
I think Thane might be just too alien for most people, his looks and his beliefs/nature (I understand that there must be plenty of sexy, stoic spiritual men out there but there is something different about Thane). And also most of the devs appear to be (straight) males so would understandably prefer talking/reading about Liara's and Tali's butts than reading about Thane's ridges -__- (don't mind me blatantly stereotyping men here.. )
I think that you are right. Garrus may look the most alien, but his thinking is more human. Thane thinking is more alien. I just think it's hard for some to grasp the concept. Honestly I have heard people give some of the most ridiculous reasons for not liking Thane though.
I don't know why the developers would be so put off by him. He is their character after all. Is their thinking so limited that they won't even try to understand him. No they would rather stick more shots of Miranda's butt in the camera or obsess over Liara.

Yeah, that whole "u new he waz dyin" sh!t gets old. I admit it, I *did* expect bw to kill him off, but I did not expect them to do it so callously or to retcon a romanced Thane so terribly. I'm glad I do not personally know these people. I would be ashamed to call them friends or family. Hell, I have a few people I absolutely cannot stand and I would not wish this kind of coldness upon them.
It was wrong bioware. Shame on you.
I actually didn't expect them to just kill him without some option to save him. I honestly thought it was something they just added for drama because they weren't smart enough to come up with something better. Thane had so many other things going on in his story that this illness was not necessary. The fact that they can't cure it , but the Geth can fix the quarians immune system is ridiculous. I thought that was the silliest thing I had ever heard. Not to mention Shepard coming back in some Frankenstein experiment. Then they did it so early in the game. If you blink you might miss him sitting at that window. If it wasn't so sad it would be funny that this is their idea of a satisfactory conclusion to the romance.

And for the record I did take that puppy out lots, it's just my older brother has always been lazy, and I doubt he has ever put any effort into training that puppy. I have two dogs myself and neither of them did that much pissing and sh!ting all over my place.
I'm certain that Casey is the original dude at BW who started the inflatable blue Liara trend.
@UTaker, I get the thing with the quote pyramids I get headaches from weird sh!t like that. Same with the weird Alliance emails in ME3 where it tells ya about Rana and Kal'Reger's deaths and other weird nonsense that should have been put in the game and not an email.
And Tali's voice my god it is irritating it's a huge turn off. In fact one time I was enjoying her curvy figure before I talked to her, and well I discovered that her voice is the ultimate *ahem* wood killer.
Sadly I too can not go into many of the other character threads, too many have happy stuff with their LIs. I only had two Sheps, my main one who only had eyes for Samara.
The other one well I created him to basically p!ss everyone off and see how badly I could screw over the galaxy in ME3. He romanced Ashley and Jack, but he's never seeing ME3 because destroying Maelons data, killing the Council, making Udina Councilor, telling the quarians to go to war with the Geth, killing the Rachni, killing Sheila on Feros, Rana on Virmire, killing Balek in BDtS, letting Kirrahe's team die, handing the Collector base over to Cerberus, and still unable to have Wrex and Samara die, has no impact on screwing over the galaxy in the end.
I created a few other Sheps out of boredom but they all turned out like my main Shep, and so they just Sh!t out of luck in the romance department in ME3.

Those quote pyramids drive me nuts. TBH, I can't actually remember how to do multiple quotes, so I won't be doing it anyways.
I have several FemSheps and one Sheploo, never to be played again.

Honestly, we have to be one of the friendliest threads on the boards. We've converted a few unbelievers and gotten rid of a few trolls.
But honestly, I feel like there's maybe what...20 of us that actually post consistently. How is that going to help? I just wish people would post more. I know for a fact that Thane has more fans than just us.
Some of us are just forum shy (at least me), it doesn't mean I'm not around or supporting everything i can in my own way, in fact i have at least 5 Thane threads open in firefox 24/7 and since i work from home i'm keeping up with them (reading) during the day. Also...being new to actually interacting on a forum...how do i find this drelllicker group you mentioned?

I know some people are shy, but we're pretty nice here and deal quickly (as a united group) against trolls. And yay!! Another firefox person! I work from work and I still leave tabs open. I just have to alt-tab quickly a lot.

It was Thane's fate that pulled me in here initially heh, if i start posting like a madperson after a while you all know who to blame
I've also never tweeted, don't have an account there. And my very first attempt at fan art ever was for the LIA project 2. Wow i see lots of firsts for me happening here
