Sorry, the original sounded rude and it wasn't supposed to...

what does "Appears =/= is" mean?

edit: I'm a posting nightmare today...

I would like to know that myself.

I used this in reference to my original post to @IsaacShep.  He made an assumption in his first response to me about me (or all of us on this thread; no sure) not willing to work within the confines of the existing storyline.(hence his words of "Appears=/=is")  I was trying to point out that not only did my original post touch on that, but that myself and others (on this thread and others; Groups included) have been trying to come up with ways to make this work plausibly.  And that we don't believe we will get Thanecentric DLC; instead we are hoping for extra Thane content added in a story and multi-character DLC.  But, my original post was about how I believe (and yes, my opinion.....no one else has to share the same one) we are at the point that only an ADDED option to keep Thane alive would work to allow for "rich" Thane content in some kind of DLC (NOT Thane exclusive, but also......).  My reasoning being based on what they already gave us in the base game.

Oh, and it was from his following post on the Kaidan fan thread:

I think she's trying to explain my question about "Appears =/= is"

I really am failing at the posting today.

I'm trying to equate it to a greater than/less than formula and not having any luck.

I'd never seen that before so I didn't know what it meant either.

I was explaining why I used the reference, and for the record; if you had read what I wrote, you would know that I thought your points were good.  Have you decided to skip over posts so that you lose context?

She was just trying to explain " Appears =/=" to us.

It turned into a bit of a disagreement and the person stopped talking.

So we need a new topic.

*raises hand* I've got one!

Do you think Irikah is the sharing type? I mean, my Shep has every intention of meeting Thane "across the sea", so uh, isn't Irikah already there?

Other than that....

It's kinda cute when people come in here expecting us to change out minds about Thane because they said so...Wait did I say 'cute'? I meant 'annoying'.

*Sigh*

Edit.

I've wondered about that...it's tricky for sure.

All I can think about in relation to that is that damn "Hercules" ep where he marries the Golden Hind (forget her name) and has to break it to his dead wife (forget her name too).

I always think this as well. Could be very awkward, but then I also imagine locking her in a cloud prison for eternity because Thane is mine.
I just want my Thane back :crying:. I could probably stomach the ending if I had Thane with me. Why so mean Bioware?

EDIT - Posted Image Tashash, can I use your banner sig too? It's how I feel.

Oh, welcome PorcelynDoll. Sorry, my mind is in a million pieces right now. So maybe it's welcome back? LOL

Yeah, I have a hard time caring about the ending when I can't stomach the rest of the game anyways.

I don't know if she does. I guess in the afterlife there is no jealousy or anything like that.
My Shepard doesn't really wory about that. I guess all three could live happily ever after, or maybe Irikah didn't make it across the sea.

I mostly stay on deviant art with all the happy Thane pictures/endings. I cannot even play the sp campaign. What they did to Thane is reprehensible. I just play MP where Thane can live on doing acrobatics all over the map. I'm a bit crazy maybe, but I follow other players around who are playing a Drell. I yell at the screen "Stop running from me Thane! I loves you!!!!!!!!" lol It's how I am coping. Having Keythe Farley on Facebook helps too.

I have another one. I'm sure it's been asked but I can't remember.

Did anyone ever feel that bioware gave Thane too much baggage. I still sometimes hear that as a reason poeple didn't romance him. He had a wife, and he has a kid. Then he's dying.

Doesn't Cortez have a dead husband, and I don't see anyone complaining. Kolyat is an adult not a child, so you don't have to help raise him.

Yeah, methinks they went a bit heavy with the angst.

hmmm....well, I guess moving on, eh?

So a tiny problem with me is that I admit to having a bit of an "after life" crisis. I can RP a spiritual (hell, even religious....oops, H-E-double hockeysticks...<cheeky>) PC, and I love Thane's spiritual side, but I admit, I get a little fuzzy on the afterlife bit based solely on my own beliefs. So, it ends up looking more like "What Dreams May Come". I imagine that the sole is infinite, so Thane (whom my Shepard loves) is with her across the sea (or Orlando, cuz that's fun too). And Irikah is with her husband, Thane, across the sea, but her "across the sea", not Shepards. Make sense? No differently were the shoe on the other foot.......if my Shep had lost a lover, then fell in love with Thane, then after they all died she would be with her previous lover, and she would be (in a somewhat different reality) with Thane.

Bah.....I really do blame the heat for my incoherent rambling...... :P

Never bothered me. When you love someone it shouldn't matter about their past. I actually find it hurtful when people give those reasons. Who of us doesn't have baggage? I had a husband, I can't have children and I have a disease so by that logic I am unlovable. Well I'm sick of feeling worthless so I am pretty defensive about Thane.

Now, now Tash.....stalking "Thane" in MP could be a lot of fun!  Posted Image  Too funny......Nice to have you PorcelynDoll!

@JECW - I have always been a strong believer in the OTT on baggage for one Mr. Thane Krios.  They really didn't need to give him a disease with the "compact", wife killed, estranged son.......that was plenty.  I even wrote a synopsis on why some people probably feel that Thane's handling, in me3, was a good way to end his character.  It is based on this very problem of one character written with too much baggage.

Still can't help but love the Drell.  Interesting, soulful, intelligent and sexy to boot!Posted Image
