There isn't enough bleach in the galaxy to unsee that Banshee. I tried finishing one of Hope's stories and got to the sex scene and got a mental pic of that thing. Needless to say, I couldn't finish it. Now I wonder what is worse seeing the ending of ME3 or that Banshee?

Let me share something that moved me a lot today, hopefully it will fade the horrible banshee's stuff ...:

My husband felt sadened for me not being able to save Thane yet.

So he used the picture of the Save Thane group from Squeegee, that I like and use as avatar on tweeter, and offered this to me.

He thought since I care that much about it, it would make me feel better.
And really this little mug made me feel better: the most important man in this world for me understood me and tried to show me he listen.
That is priceless.

So maybe one day the Mass effect team will try and do something about our Thane.

I mean come on, if my hubby who don't really like Mass effect, tried to comfort me and wish Thane to have an option to be saved, just to make me feel less sad, and took of his time to do this for me, how possible those who worked hard on this game and claim to care about their fans couldn't try and offer us this simple thing: an option to save Thane!
I know, I know, I'm an hopeless optimistic person who still find good sides, even with two feets in a **** pool.

But it give me hope. I can't help to have hope just with this mug.

Just wanted to share this with you my friends: other people understand us and try to do things to help.

We shall continue to Hold the Drell. Get Utaker and Mnomaha on it and they'll get the Drell to shoot at BW's office and people. They'll not only hold the Drell but also rubbing the Drell getting the Drell to fire off loads upon BW.

Hell get Coldi on this too, maybe even Tash I'm sure they'd all be doing something like that.

Hell I'm certain several other ladies in here would be taking part in such acts right?

That mental pic you just put up Gears...can I have that on a mug? You know it is worthy of looking at on a daily basis. I have an image of Thane being held like a fire hose.

I also have a mental picture of me sitting in a corner with Thane's pants hanging out of my mouth. Swatting, spitting, and hissing at him while he tries to retrieve them. Back off I say, back off! Go put on your "Warning Choking Hazard" boxers. I saw a pair of those in the store once and laughed until I couldn't breathe. There was another pair too that said, "In Case of Emergency, Pull Down" with an arrow pointing down. Oh and the pair that said, "Eat Me" on one side and a pic of a banana on the other. Don't ask where I go shopping.

There was another thread about how FemShep got very few male LI options and how it seemed female gamers were being pushed to play as lesbians (since FemShep lost two male LIs and BW added Trayner & Allers). The thread was locked by Chris Priestly.

He wrote that:

We want player of eitehr gender to play the romance they choose. Romances are optional.

If you have a question for me, please send me a PM.

Kind of hard to play the romance we chose since in ME3 the game decided for us that those romances don't count (Thane and Jacob).  ManShep keeps all his options while FemShep loses out on two options exclusive to her.

How can they not see how unbalanced and unfair that is? It's a valid complaint and there's no dismissing it.

BW claim to care about their fans and to listen to feedback so we'll see. It just seems like they humor us and don't actually listen, however.

While ME3 was still in development they made a big deal about the "Cure Thane" banner, hung it in their office, promoted it on Facebook, etc.

That gave fans hope for an option. The lung transplant mentioned in the Lotsb dlc gave us hope. The cdn article about the medigel for the lungs, the Hanar cure that we know was being worked on, the fact that Thane was a LI and Bioware had never killed off a LI without player choice before........

All of that stuff gave us hope. They knew we were hoping for an option. Yet they treated the character like an afterthought and trashed his romance arc. This was the character they created with female gamers in mind to be a LI and yet he was trashed. We were the target audience and it feels like they drew us in only to have the rug pulled out from under us. I don't have much faith in BW these days but I am still hoping for an option. So many people are working so hard to get their voices heard in creative and constructive ways. It's all for love of the character though and despite the harsh criticisms BioWare should be glad people care about their characters so much to warrant all the projects and dedication.

I hope they really are listening and not just giving us lip service.

I think they do see it. They just simply don't care.
His statement was a joke. They want us to play the romance we choose. Then why take away our choices. What they want is for us to pick the romance they choose.

Then he wants people to pm him so he can just ignore the question. Until they address and fix this problem people are going to continue to complain.

^This.  So much effort by fans, and it really is a testimony to what they are capable of (regarding the writing of characters).  If they would just do what we know they can do, and give us a truly memorable game (and it goes without saying; game series).......ohhhh the accolades!  (oh yeah, and more of our $$$'s)

@JECW - Not really even sure why he suggests that we PM him.......better to just let us get out our frustrations on these threads.  Besides, in the end, BW will do what they do.  Simple praising, criticizing, or even out and out bashing, means nothing in the end.  They know what the major complaints are, and what drives us to these games to begin with.  If they utilize this knowledge and expand on it in the game (via DLC, patches) then HOORAH!  If not, eventually after "getting our frustrations of our chests", most will simply move on.....problem is, will most move away.....?

The Volturi don't give second chances...oh wait, wrong series. I normally do not give second chances. Too many have blown up in my face in the past. But with BW, I am. What they put out as ME3 with all their promises was the first chance. What they do with Thane and other ME2 LI's/characters is their second chance.

If they do nothing, then I will do the same in the future with their product. Can some see that as being a brat or petty? I think not. I tried a local pizza place's pizza and it tasted like crap, I don't go there again. Same line of thinking for me.

Well, you think they would have noticed that they do not have complacent fans, especially after the sh*tstorm from DA2.

You *think* they would be listening. DA2 was an extremely subpar game compared to the amazing *full* game that was DA:O. A full game full of choices and romances that could indeed live and, in Zevran's case, be redeemed.

What the hell is wrong with them? Is it really the EA overlords or do they simply no longer care about their once faithful fanbase?

They were probably under the mind set, "This is Mass Effect, they will love it and if not, eventually accept it as art." I don't know about the rest of you but I don't go putting up art in my home if I find it ugly and painful to look at. I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder but there is a difference between a few people telling you this is garbage and a few thousand.

Of course it does not help when people are telling you that your SP campaign is garbage and then loving the crap out of your MP. They will only see the love part and ignore the part where you have a complaint and thus lump you in the "lovers" crowd so that their hate numbers are diminished.

It was like that when I worked in a restaurant. If a certain number of people were not eating a specific part of the entree but ate the rest, we figured that although they hated that one part, they liked the rest...so why give it a complete overhaul at this point? So we made the part they appeared to love better and tweaked the awful part just a little, if they still didn't like it then we got rid of it and cut it loose. We found no sense in constantly spending money on a part they didn't like when we could milk them for more money out of the part they seemed to love. This is what is going to happen as long as people keep worshiping the MP.

I'm pretty sure that the mess of ME3 is the indirect result of EA overlords. I think the development team will have had many boxes to tick to fit in with EAs strategy and meeting these came at a cost. That cost was the integrity of the story and the characters from ME2. Its funny that they talk of 'artistic integrity' when the whole game screams of 'sell out'... there's no integrity (artistic or otherwise) to be seen.
