Three months on, am I any less pissed off about this mess?  no, it still disgusts me.

I played ME1 and 2 in good faith and forged my shepards within the parameters provided by Bioware and they decided they were not going to honour my choices in ME3... and they didn't even have the courtesey to warn me before hand.  Instead they trolled the fanbase with hope, failed to deliver, and acted like they had never implied anything.

Does the profession of game development attract people who lack empathy?  it certainly seems to be the case.

Did anyone really consider that having your LI die without any player agency to change it wouldn't be considered to be fun for those invested in that character??? Did they lose sight of the fact that playing games is supposed to be enjoyable??

The way they treated Thane is either a complete insult to fans intelligence, or a calculated decision to cut loose a smaller section of fans to save 'resources' for more 'artistic' content such as Diana Allers:blink:.

Anyway... sorry about the short rant but I'm on holiday, can't afford to go anywhere, and it's f**kin' raining and 15 C here (UK Summer:sick:) and needed to vent...  I've also had sum rum ... oops

Ah, lovely Thane picture.

Well, this is 'art', not game anymore. If you don't enjoy it, then you just don't understand it! <-- I think that's what they' re thinking.

Yup,  I wish they'd told me!  would have saved me £70.00... *refrains from calling BioWare a bunch of dicks*  ...oops, note to self - work on restraint.

I don't care if they say artistic integrity or not, as they honestly cannot put the word integrity into the description. That would imply that they produced said art as they originally wanted it to be without outside influences changing what they wanted. If it can be truthfully stated that EA had no part in the deadline and how much they had to cut or hold back on, then I might be willing to give them their "artistic integrity."

exactly, I'd like to see any of them look me in the eye and talk about integrity in ME3

Integrity: 'I consider my body's death, and a chill settles in my gut. I am afraid, and it shames me.' ---> 'It's freeing to find no requirements placed on me. No responsibilities, no fears. It is a good end to a life'

I like your thinking! It wuld be interesting to see how the rum and drell licking would compliment each other, although similar experiences from my youth had mixed results :P

I wish they would have told me too. I could have spent my $60 on another game.
What was the purpose of giving us these new romances in ME2 if they were just going to dump them all in ME3. Nothing I did in the previous two games matters in ME3. I have no real control over my shepard. She says and does what Bioware wants her to do. If they don't fix this mess they have made I will be taking this game back and I will think long and hard before I ever pick up another one of their games.

*wakes up and wonders where the rums gone*

@mnomaha I honestly don't think they were thinking... if they were they're not very good at it.

@JECW I feel the same, I don't see how I can bring myself to buy any BW product after this. I'm fighting for Thane here, but I'm also fighting for BW in a way, I'm fighting in the hope that they will prove that they have some respect for their female fans. If they can't prove that, how can I support them in good conscience?

Damn girls. The rage in here tonight is raging! Honestly, I'm thinking about just quoting all you girls in the conclusion of the essay.

I wish they told me too. $130 I could have spent on... well... food, and the like. I felt such excitement coming up to the release of ME3 and then when I finally got it in to my PS3... I have never felt so hurt, betrayed, dumbfounded, and raged in my entire life!

"artistic integrity?" Bah! isn't art supposed to imitate life? Thane sure as hell wasn't imitating anything other than an **** trying to illicite sympathy from his ****-buddy with false claims of dying. Yes false! Cause if he was as sick as Bioware said he was, he would have been bedridden for the entire thing!

one question about the end. yes, i've finished finally my thane romance pt with karin shepard (renegade) but i noticed some differences to my 2 paragon kaidan/garrus pt...and i wanna know if someone had the same
I had 5575 EM at the end of my renegade PT and choosed red end...but i did not get secret end. no 2 breathes of shepard, i waited the whole credits but just the grandfather appeared and afterwards nothing T_T also i had no liara out of normandy, even if she was my li before thane and i took her to earth...i had javik and garrus. it's all strange o.o

At one point someone said it was the two you brought with you, then someone said no it is normally your LI and whoever you had the most reputation points with. While I was playing the ending over and over...just the choice and the crash scene as I couldn't skip it...I was fiddling with the flashbacks at that time, I did notice that I had chosen a save file where I brought EDI and Javik with me but since EDI got destroyed, it was James who stepped off with Javik. So, the whoever you have the most rep points with made sense to me as James and Javik I had talked to more than anyone on that ship with that particular Shepard.

I don't know where it is exactly but some claim that the EMS gets locked in not while you are on Earth but sometime during the Cerberus HQ mission. Either right before or right after which may not make sense to some but if you listen to Hackett, doesn't he state that when you decide to go to Cerberus HQ that this is it, this attack will be the beginning of the push toward Earth and it is a point of no return. You need that 5575 EMS at least before heading into Cerberus HQ.

I heard you needed 7500 before heading into Cerberus...but could be wrong.

Mmmm, I'll have to see about that LI and rep thing. I assumed that Garrus & Liara bought it when I ran for the reaper and the beam of death took them out. I had Joker, EDI and Kaidan step off the ship. Where'd Javik and Vega go? Really I didn't care. No Thane? Ok then, everyone dies. I would have killed my entire crew if I could have. And considering Joker had to go through a relay BEFORE the fight was over...hello? Why would he do that? Which also means that everyone on the Normandy PLANNED to leave Earth with you on it! AWESOME.

@annie - Dawnguard looks like enough of a reason to play Skyrim - looking very good.

@mnomaha - voted on the poll, and posted in HTL community. I had posted before as well. Just finding it hard to keep up with all tlhe places to post, read, and participate in/on/with/whatever!

I think the reason Jessica & Chris post over there is to get a feel for the entire community as a lot of them have stayed away from the BSN. It's more input. I follow @sarah_ann_mann on twitter and she's pretty involved over there so I can keep up with what they are doing.

Mmmm, rum AND Thane...the experimenting that could go on...FOR SCIENCE!!Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Killing everyone is possible, bum rush the game and end up with an EMS that vaporizes Earth. I am going to assume that since I did not see any soldiers celebrating or anything that comes with the other variations of Red that I just committed the worst case of mass killing known to man. Your fleeing Joker won't be getting off the Normandy.

That was my first play through, yes I did screw it up that bad. Things I did:
Destroyed the Collector Base
Everyone was alive except Jacob
Saved Maleon's Data
Kept Wrex Alive
Virmire'd Ashley
Saved the Rachni Queen
Romanced Thane
Did get peace between the Quarians and Geth
Saved the Rachni Queen (again)
Cured the Genophage
Killed Kaidan on the Citadel
Missed the PI and Samara shot herself
Warned Miranda
Shot Balak
Grissom Academy
Kasumi Quest

Things I didn't do:
Zaeed's quest
Fetch Quests (I may have done a couple but I didn't go out of my way to deliver or look for the stuff needed)
Scanning planets
Recruit Allers
Authorizing or Enabling things on the Spectre Terminal
Get the merc groups you get from talking to Aria
And there may have been a couple more things I didn't do

Follow that and your EMS will be so low everyone will die. Oh yeah and no MP or Datapad...gotta keep that Galactic Readiness at the 50%.

I did better the second time but I ended up choosing Synthesis because it hurt all my feels killing Joker the last time. I wanted to make up for it by letting him be with EDI. And well...I like green.

My galactic readiness now is 100% - I keep himming and hawwing about going back and playing the end again - and then I remember Thane, all the screw ups and I can't. So, hopefully the EC DLC is fantastic so at least my 100% readiness will matter.

my readiness was 98% and i had 5575 before i went to cerberus...

because i wanted karin to live...but nothing happened. tweeted to tully, patrick and mass effect but patrick only answered and he said he does not know why it does not work

@myth: you cannot reach 7.500. maximum is 6.000 i think. i just could not make samaras quest. rest was all done

I love this last one, it reminds me of a certain wintery plannet an old Sheppard is talking to a granddaughter.. Wonder if that grandaughter has green ridges on her forehead ;)

O wow ( I just read the pages I missed). That is really awesome Remiri1. Dear God, if you make him a marryiable follower I will die. I might even take on the task of reinstalling Skyrim, updating all the mods I kept and opening up my project again. Not likely anytime soon since I just lost my daddy to cancer on wed. night and I am staying with my mum.
