@Porcelyn, I am also sorry to hear about your father. I am even more sorry that I read this after I just spent part of the day with mine.

@Squee, ugh...sorry to hear that. I'm sure I have a rather nasty thing to say about it but I'll refrain from it. Since I'm mad at my computer at the moment and anything I say may actually be a reflection of my own anger at outside forces. Actually, I do understand. I didn't cry a single tear when my father's father died. He was an abusive, racist jerk. My grandmother cried but those were tears of joy, she was happy to finally be rid of him and be able to have a life that was her own.

There has been lots of crap in my life but there have been 4 things I could count on until I had my two children...my Mom, Dad, Brother and Sister. My life would be destroyed with the absence of any of them. I pray I leave this earth before any of them do as I don't think I could recover from that kind of pain. I don't think all the detaching and disconnecting would ever work. I love my husband but he is different, I could live without him. I know that's real mean but I don't hold relationships like that in the same category as I place my family. He loves me more than anything and I do love him back and it would hurt if he were aware that it would hurt more to lose my father than him. I feel like a real ass for feeling like that.

Would be awesome to collaborate and get something going... I was thinking Lore wise, maybe Skyrim is the planet where Shep and Thane landed after all the mass effect portals exploded ? And she falls near Ulrich gets arrested, finds out she is the dragonborn.. Then meets Thane  (ofc Thane didn't die in this scenario)

Another lore "fix" could be they both died on ME3. But since they died apart and didn't resolve their issues the goddess Arashu sends them to purgatory.. on Skyrim 

In any case I don't care about lore, I can get Thane's soundfiles in my Skyrim and he looks like Thane so is good enough to have while I play my Storm cloak playthru. Too bad I did all Dark Brotherhood already, Thane would be a perfect DB Assassin. <3

They probably aren't ignoring you - the NWN forums don't get much traffic these days.

Ummm, yes, I think a hak file is like an overide.....Are you trying to get the extra Valen covo's? The Valen thread will have a link to the download and precise instructions - even I managed to do it, so you know it isn't as complicated as it may seem

Lovely old ass computer with win xp and i can't even install me2 right now as it says i have insufficient disk space and to remove some stuff. yeah, i'll do that later. i think i miss my rotating wallpapers the most, right now i'm stuck with Jacoby Shaddix...not that i'm complaining about that but I do miss my rotating Thanes.

So, I'll replace the psu and if it happens to be the hard drive, lucky for me i have spares, i keep spare computer parts laying around like one keeps shoes. I am at least getting over it, i lost my stories too...LOL....should have uploaded them to the website when i said i was going to. well, it could be worse..i could not have spare old ass computers to fall back on.

I'm just trying to figure out the terminology because it's different from modding DA:O. Apparently. I think...

But I have to admit...these (NWN and BG) are old school RPG's and the content completely blows Miss Effect 3 out of the universe. Maybe it's because of Gaider, IDK, but something has changed significantly and I absolutely do not like it.

mnomaha, .hak is just an extension. It's really just an erf file. When I was modding for DA2 I used some of my old nwn software, like the .tlk editor. I actually can't remember if I used hak files for my NWN projects. I think I just stuck with simple override stuff. I made a skin smoother mod that would let you colour your character any colour seamlessly but it's possibly broken now. I haven't looked at it or played either nwn1 or 2 in many years.

What did you do to your computer?

I don't think I did anything to it, I think the power supply unit is a piece of crap and that is the best case scenario.  The monitor started flickering on and off and then I realized it wasn't the monitor's problem, my computer kept turning on and off on the boot screen.  Since I heard no beeps from the HD and it sounded normal, I figured my PSU was on it's way out.  Now it won't even summon the power to turn the fan.  But I yanked the HD and hooked it up to another tower and it started with the turning on and off crap again on the boot screen.  So, I don't know.  I know the PSU needs to be replaced anyway, so I will replace it and if it's the hard drive well, I'll just be reinstalling on a new hard drive.  Regardless I have lost all my Thane except the audio files, all my DAO mods (this computer won't let me install DAO either..not enough disk space...which is crap there is plenty).

Take the drive to an uber geek and see if they can retreive your stuff on another drive. If it's not too late, chances are good. I lost one that way though. Stoopid me not backing up.

Just don't send it to those "free shipping hard drive recovery system" they are a scam. I sent my son's HD to them and they wanted over $1,600 dollars to "open the hd in a clean lab" to do a recover and then wouldn't return the HD.

LOL..the last thing I'm going to do is spend hundreds of dollars to recover some videos and screen shots. There isn't anything on the hard drive that I can't live without. Pain to do it all over again but if I have to, I will. Won't be the first time...I love Thane but I'm not going to spend hundreds of dollars to recover some screen shots and videos I can just do again. Lost my bik files for the flashbacks but oh well, I'll just have to do them again. Too bad too, I was close with getting the frames and file size right on that ridges flashback. I even had it named Shell, so I could remember who to send it too when it was done. Was kind of cute too, it started off in normal view and then slowly zoomed in on the ridges. Meh, gives me a reason to look at it more.

I am in protest again...I did not get my scene in ME3 of Thane at a desert, laying in the sun, all hot and with my Shep cooking bacon on him. Just sayin'.....Thane and bacon.
