Actually, when I think about it...Zevran does have a deeper story. Lots of stuff below the surface, which Zevran haters never manage to delve into because...like Thane...they consider it too much effort. Crappy childhood, tragic past, lost love...hmmm....

absolutly, when you push zevran into the love section and ask him out of his life, it was really tragic and i saw, that he was may even unsecure and hide behind this flirty, nasty elve (what i adore a lot of him) but zevran was not just that, he was not that easy...

He bested Thane like a banana peel bests somene who slips on it. Thane actively jumped on his sword 

Oh.. I have added something to the Thnae dLC thread that has been bugging me for ages about all those teenagers saying "Thane is OK with dying".

If he is dead, I guess some acknowledgement by Garrus, Bayley, Liara, Tali, etc.. would be nice. And seeing him after Sheppard dies. My Sheppard doesn't care to live after Thanes gone. My Sheppard just stays around to save her friends.

And THAT is what an adult person does when they want to / are ok with dying.  That is what an adult with responsabilities and people who depend on himself / herself does. Juliet, Romeo or Bella the vampire lover might kill themsleves if they lose their LI because they are a) Young and immature and Have no one depending on them.

We who have kids, squadmates,  elder parents depending on us don't have this luxury. We have to carry on living regardless of how dead we feel inside, in a deep "battle sleep" to be able to carry out our responsibilities.

Young posters here think that "being ok with dying" means you actually look for the first available glorious death opportunity you see, to go out "like a hero". That is only true if you have no one that depends on you and that will die or suffer to the breaking point if you "check out". Despite being very "ok with death" Sheppard will not actively seek it until she/he delivers her friends to safety. Thane would never have jumped on that bastard's sword if he was well written. He had a son to take care.

  

Stories written for teens are full of this crap but after people grow up they realize their life affects more than just themselves. After you have kids your life is no longer just yours . If you ever have to care for an elder parent or sibling you know this. People on the military know this. Only selfish teens think anyone can ever be actively seeking for death.

PS: You know what really pisses me off ? Thane prays for Sheppard if he/ she is not his LI. Why ? That is a generous gesture but it totally scr** us who are his LI and deserved that prayer. All the rest who think him boring and disposable do not.

Talking about shirtless drell... What do you guys think of the texture I'm picking for Thane on Skyrim ? Thane has scales on his neck but his face has some smooth areas so I think I can get away with a smooth chest. Not sure if I can give him a belly button and other mammal indications though but his chest would look weird without it

@ Moira It's what they should have put in the game in the first place keep Thane alive and win the fight so Thane could torture Kai leng...at least in my book that would have been Awesome lol!

It wasn't meant to be a happy relationship. He cared about Femshep too much to let his distress of dying affect him, y'know, stiff upper lip and all, trying to make his death as easy for her as possible.

My theory, anyway.

 @Toarka - Yes that is how I headcanon his ME3 dialog. He knew Sheppard would have to save Earth so he tried to push her away so she wouldn't suffer. His first time seeing Sheppard he couldn't resist snogging her but then he tries to force her to move on. But his last prayers were for her 

Still extremely lousy for us Thanemancers The ME2 Thane starts noticing Sheppard because she draws him out of his shell and he ends up confiding in her stuff he has never told anyone. He bares his soul to her, including the fear and shame no one else sees. To have him not trust her enough on ME3 is very painful

Yeah, I just can't stomach the idea he went from baring his soul to Shepard to putting on an act.

There's no real explanation for his character shift other than bad writing. It just makes me sick to think of how Thane was handled.
