Maybe it  didn't bother you and some other people which is fine but it sure bothers us Thane fans when we didn't even get an option to save him...y'know kinda like what Jack,Miranda and the rest got! I got no problem with people who think Thane had an Aweome death but when you've romanced him and want to save him and your shepard is just standing there like a ******..and then come to find out you have no option to save him at all that's pretty much giving us the middle finger! Posted Image

First of all, people misunderstood me. I meant his whole romance was more mature than in the entire series. All the others felt more young. Thane's issues are more of an adult nature than others in the group and I get the feeling that other than Mordin or Wrex one of the oldest crew members you have. I love him for his maturity.

I feel his death was forgone conlusion. I agree Shepard standing there staring was stupid and badly done but Thane's death eventually when you see him should have happened. He was dying anyway but he died saving the council and the citadel. It was honoring Thane not the middle finger.

That would be the Jacob romance. I heard about that and I can't even be buddies with him anymore.

Also I love Thane and it seems you are implying I am not a fan. Not meaning you can't be bothered by it, by all means. Personally though I felt it did better justice to the character than slowly languishing in the hospital. And miracle cure would have taken from the nature of the romance.

Ever lost someone you loved? If you have wouldn't you have gone to the ends of the earth to save them? My dad died of liver failure due to cancer. So you think instead of him spending his last days with his family and friends it would have been better for him to just get run through with a sword? I'll make sure my mum knows that if there was a cure for cancer she shouldn't have bothered with it because that would have taken away from their romance.

Porcelyn I'm sorry about your father! I'll be praying for you and your family! *bear hug*
I lost my father years ago I know how you feel!

@karushna5 Honor what honor? Nobody mentions one word about Thanes heroism which is terrible...including his romance in ME3 it's pretty lacking if you tell me and there is no " I love you" in there! And if  your a Thane fan you would have no problem with there being an option to save him...but your answer says otherwise! I admit I feel for the jabob fans but at least he is alive and kicking! They shouldn't have treated Jacob fans and us like that period! They should have treated every LI equally, that's my opinion and I 'm sure there are others who agree!

Bioware pulled a M. Night Shyamalan twist on us even after all those hints and putting a "Save Thane" banner in their office and that was cold and cruel especially with how they and other ME fans are treating us telling us "You knew he was dying get over it!" ! Yeah so were the Krogans their race was slowly dieing yet they get a cure and they weren't even LI's!  Posted Image

*sighs* I could go on and on but it's lunch time where I'm at!

I am always amazed when people do this. It is a low blow of the worst kind. Yes I have lost someone I love, and my dad is dying of cancer. Leukemia, you implying at all that I would not rather my dad live is more cruel and depreciating than anything I have seen on here, that is real life and not a story, or a game and I am trying very hard not to get angry. This fact should be immaterial to our arguement. I am sorry your dad died. I hope mine doesn't.

Also I have said that saying the middle finger in my opinion is harsh. Also I have said you may be angry, personally I am not. I feel his was much better than Miranda's or Jack's especially Jack's. Way better than Jacob. None of the old romances that are not companions in ME3 had much. I understand why people are angry, I am not, that is all I had to say.

That is a very good article! And like I said on the other Thane thread I didn't know the gaming industry was soooooooooooooooooo sexist I mean I knew they were..... just not that heavily....I don't know I guess I'd been a little blind all these years..I have mostly played Nintendo games since I was 6 years old y'know Mario bros.,Kirby etc.! Before ME I played Sims 3 and Asheron's call on my PC that's it!

Anyways let's get back to Thane

Go for it.  I'd like to tell him that there is nothing more heartbreaking than watching  a child die of cancer.  But this child pulled his family together, made sure that all of our conversations did not revolve around his dying, wanted us to find happiness in even the darkest of times, refused to stop believing there was hope, when he knew his time was coming did not go out and do something incredibly stupid like speed up his death, he wanted to say all he had to say.  When we knew it wouldn't be long we took the time to tell him how much he meant to us, held his hand, and then said said goodbye through enough tears to blind us.  And yes, we mourned him.  Yes, there were people to send their condolences, and he was remembered.

So, I am well aware that things do not end happily.  That is life.  Sometimes I don't want to be reminded of how cruel life can be in a game.   I have a life outside of games to remind me of how heartbreaking life can be, how unfair it can be.  For those moments in a game, I can save the galaxy, save my friends, my lover, and be a hero.  All the things I cannot do in real life because I cannot control things like that.  Isn't that was games are supposed to do?  Or do I have it wrong?

Oh, I must have it wrong because I am a female gamer.  Dismissed.

@utaker.. Hugs, hugs and hugs.

Reminds me of my friend Garth. He too fought his cancer every step of the way, not for him, he was at peace with dying. For his wife and daughter. Adults with family and loved ones do not sit on a couch waiting to die like Thane did on ME3. Do not throw themselves on a sword. They stay around as much as they can, to give their loved ones a little more time. And it seems even a child can grasp it.

Alas the teenagers - be it in years or in mentality - who think "awsum death" will never understand that. To them the rest of the world doesn't exist.

Oh yes, I was a teenager once. A rather selfish one that thought the only world that existed was mine. My parents were wrong. Teachers were wrong. Adults in general were just wrong. Could never understand why they bothered to care so much about my business. That is, until I had my own children. Now my kids see me as the one that should step back and stay out of their business. And I swore that I would never be as nosy as my own Mother. Yet...I can't help but find myself always in detective mode and always wanting to know their business. LOL. So much for that promise I made myself.
