An Abbreviated List of Grievances Concerning the Thane Romance in ME3
_______

1) No option to tell Thane that Shepard came to see him, at his behest, not to see Kaidan.
2) No option to tell Kaidan off about Horizon, that we meant to be with Thane.
3) No option to tell that we loved him (it's easier to put we as opposed to Shepard, here).
4) No option to avoid his death.
5) No option to mourn him.
6) No option to talk about him with others.
7) No option to cure him or extend his life.
8) No option to have extended conversations with him.
9) No option to do a mission with him.

... hn, this was supposed to be abbreviated....

^this!

Couldn't sleep so I tried to play ME3 again...after the hospital scene with Thane I just couldn't continue. A combination of not being able to stand going through losing him because of Kai Leng, the world's most boring and annoying assassin and the endings.

The whole Kaidan saying "some assassin..." and Shepard says NOTHING! Argh. RAEG! No. My Shepard loved Thane and he loved her. STFO Kaidan. Die! Air lock, now! *pushed Kaidan in airlock* GTFO. A--hat.

I know!  What is with the Kanye dress/coat thing?  And why does he have that black "mask" on?  Ugh.  He seems so useless.  And why did they even bother introducing him NOW?  If he's so awesome and TIM saved him, why haven't we seen him sooner?  Thane could've kicked his butt back in ME2 to save us the pain now.

Newly registered to the forums, so first off, hello all!:)

Just started playing ME3 yesterday and I've already heard what treatment the Thane romance got! I looked forward to seeing how it played out in ME3, what with all the hints dropped here and there about a positive outcome; now I somewhat dread to reach that part of the game!:( Reading the thread, I'd like to hope there'll be something good coming, after all!*crosses fingers*

PS: And is it me or do others think Kai Leng's mask looks like Nightwing's?:P (Yeah, I got totally spoiled and looked at videos and screenshots while waiting for my ME3 copy to reach me, I confess!:P)

That should stop all the questions.  I HATE that he seems to think he's not "worthy" enough for you to be there for him.  WTF??

That thought breaks my heart. Of course Thane is worthy. My Shepard rushed to the hospital the moment she got his email. She was there for Thane, not anyone else. :/

As for the tweets.........It feels like the devs are just toying with us. Which is beyond cruel. D:

Seriously! I take deep offense that Leng, that poor excuse for a character, was introduced just to stab Thane to add to the "emotional drama" of the game! He was an unworthy foe.

Thane was an amazing character by all accounts and deserved better than this.

Thank you for the welcome!:)

And yep, I am definitely coming in to discuss this when I reach that part of the game! And definitely hoping BW does right by the fans here, both regarding the romances in general and Thane in particular and the endings-saw one of them in a friend's playthrough and...the less said about it, probably the better! :S

This things make me angry too.The whole dialog with Kaidan, if Shepard moved on in ME2 and choose Thane is totally failure. I can understand that Devs gave the players option to apologize and re-union with Kaidan, but as a player who really care about Thane I want the option to tell Kaidan, that I love Thane. Instead I got lie option, and two horrible others which sounds like Thane was for Shepard only placeholder in her bedPosted Image

I doubt Mshep got that. One option he got to defend choosing Miranda.
We get Shepard acting as if Thane was a big mistake.

Yeah that irritated me to no end, "some assassin"...no Kai Leng was "some assassin" but more like in the sacrastic sense. Thane wasn't just some filler for when Kaidan stepped off his high horse or just someone and it would have been nice if Shep would have pointed that out. "Listen Kaidan, his name is Thane, he isn't some assassin and I love him." Part of me would want to stick it in further by stating that the very drell he was rambling off too about me is Thane. But I realized that Thane probably would not have been pleased by that since he could have easily told Kaidan himself. Although Thane slipping into total recall at that moment would have been funny. I remember when Javik tried telling me to throw Legion out the airlock, I remember thinking, "and if Kaidan were still alive, he'd be the one going out." My parting words would be, "This hurts you."

Not just Thane.  Apparently there's really no option to call Kaidan out for getting huffy about the ME2 romances like there is with Ashley.  Shep either lies or gives some pretty lame response.  I get that Kaidan's less cranky than Ash, but son of a gun, let me at least call him on his bull.

I am so happy I saved Ashley and not Kaidan now. LOL Ash just irritated me then pissed me off when she recited Invictus by Henley. That was a FU moment for me. No, to me the poem is connected to Thane not Ashley.

Exactly
I don't like how she puts her face in her hands apologizing. Kaidan doesn't even sound that hurt, but Sheapard sound like she did the worst thing ever by choosing Thane.

Yet another moment of when I would have wanted to slap my Shepard. No, thane was not a mistake. No. NO. Thane was the right choice. My original Shepard didn't choose Kaidan in ME and Virmired him. Good choice. I take it back, I would have just kicked Shepard not slapped.

Thank God Ash was just whiney. I can live with that.

Well that's great.
MShep gets to defend his romances, but FemShep doesn't.
I would have loved the option to call him on it. Especially after he goes on and on about Cerberus on your first mission with him.

I was really pissed at that moment.
Femshep has to apologize, but Mshep gets a choice not to.
