But, Wouldn't you have to have a mid-EMS Destroy to get that though? Since Shepard lives otherwise?

Attention Thane fans!

The Romance DLC Survey ends today at 3pm EST.  Yesterday we were sitting  at whopping 7,500 responses! We're trying to get as close to 10K as we can!

If you haven't yet taken it, and are interested, PLEASE pop over there and take the survey (see link in my sig).  It will only take 5 minutes of your time...unless you like to make comments. ;)

Results will be analyzed statistically, summarized into a report, and sent to Bioware.  If you want to be heard on this issue, this is the best way to do it!

Please take the survey and spread the word:  https://www.surveymo...omancedlcsurvey

This will be my last spam of your thread.  Thanks for being tolerant! <3

Well, I posted my essay. I don't know how much good it'll do, but I obviously had a lot to say and had to get it out. I'm trying to prepare myself for the flames/trolls. :P

You can find it here: http://social.biowar.../index/13137245

@Bluecansam

I read it, it is 100% awesome! :D

In particular these segments truly reflects what I believe most of us who are #SaveThane people think;

"Saving Thane does not have to equal a “miracle cure” to Kepral’s Syndrome."

"Dying does not make it a more meaningful / less contrived story."

"Living does not necessarily make it a boring/contrived/less meaningful story."

@Emeraldfern - Thanks! I'm hoping we'll actually get some people who read all of it to discuss with us, rather than the "I skimmed it so I know everything now" folks… ^_^;;

@Renmiri - Thank you so much for helping with damage control! It looks like it might get messy!

@Blucansam & Renmiri

It sure does, jeezes, a bumpy road ahead I guess...
And...I just read this, the ME panel at SDCC:

http://www.newsarama...ent-future.html

My mind stopped working there for a moment. *Flip Table* Phew, there! Calm again!

If I was there I would have been hard pressed not to throw a shoe at Thane's writer!

He just wanted to write an assassin? Uh, what about all the other stuff about Thane's character? No wonder he was so flat in ME3...

He wrote EDI too and in spite of writing a million more lines for her - another unprofessional thing to do IMHO, to show such clear favoritism for  a chararacter - I hate his EDI just as much. The curious alien / robot that knows nothing about human emotions has been done to death. And her body was pure fanservice.

Guy can't write his way out of a paper bag.

I like EDI, and I've come to expect fanservice in video games, so her body didn't bother me that much. But I thought she had more personality in ME2, ironically enough. She seemed so much more like a robot in ME3, and less like a person. I guess kinda like Thane.

Yup, she had way more personality in ME2

Most of the characters in ME3 that I found extremely lacking were Legion, EDI, Thane and Ashley, Bailey, etc. Bailey didn't even remember Kolyat. >.>

Just to show how poorly the writing goes.

How nice.. He wanted to write two of the main characters and he got his wish.. In spite of being a lazy mediocre writer. Is he some Bioware hotshot nephew or something ?

Whaaaaat???  'he just always wanted to write and assassin in a video game' ???? Well why the F*@! didn't he bother to write one then??? He really capitalised on his biiiigggg Chance to fulfill a writing ambition didn't he <_<

edit:  I guess that's our problem right there, Thane was only a dying assassin to Hepler, emphasis on the dying.  FFS the lack of character research that went into writing Thane in ME3 is a total F!@*ing joke.  I seriously can't believe the low standards being accepted by such a highly funded company.

Geez, I have absolutely nothing to write in response to that Tweet. I  just sat and stared at it a few posts up, totally dumbfounded!!

Wildannie, you are so very right, THAT is exactly the problem right there; the writer, new and clearly untested in ME, wanted to write a dying assassin and did exactly that, research into the character be damned, he did none of that, obviously!Posted ImageNor did he know the character,even a little, to begin with, clearly, so he basically wrote a flat, dying assassin in ME3!!

Meh, one'd expect a company like Bioware, with its history and the fact it's made a name for itself via its RPGs, to do a bit more research of their own into the writers they're employing and keep a lot higher standards, as well!!!
