*Takes a quick break from painting in gouache*

First off, Happy B-Day gift and coldi! *Grabs a Neck-Snap*

@mnomaha

Denmark is nice (lived there for a year) but it's more expensive to live in compared to Sweden, although Norway beats both Denmark and Sweden.

That said, taxes are high in comparison to the rest of the EU, and Sweden is currently having an all-time high in unemployment. Healthcare is good though.

And I haven't touched the language bit yet, Danish is supposedly easier to learn than Swedish.
But then again I can't honestly judge that since I live in the south of Sweden (Scania) and the dialect down here is essentially a blend between Swedish and Danish (Scania used to be Danish), so neither is difficult for me.

Aaand I'm Off-Topic...

Hmm...aha!

I've recently begun a small exercise in 3dsMax where I'm making a series of Wallpapers, and naturally there will be a Thane Wallpaper question is what pose...Any ideas?
There will also be a Shrios Wallpaper (or more, can't have enough Shrios) and my brain could use some ideas ;)

And with that I'm off painting again!

[Edit] Oh top...Time to dig out a screenshot, sorry nothing fancy...
Pfft.. Who am I kidding! Thane is always stylish and there's Samara + Legion + Kasumi! So Yay!:

It's good to see you again gears. How is that Samara drawing you were having done going?

It's just my husband who's in the service, and he's Air Force.

Unfortunately I hate Jello. Maybe alcohol will make it taste better.

That's cool about your husband. I'm guessing you weren't with him in those places.

My husband is a year younger than me and we were both kids in the 80's too.
He does have some interesting stories. He already in the Air Force about two years before we met and then married.

I think I’ve said this before but I’ll say it again because this post resonated with me.  One of the reasons why I was so mad about my Thane import was because it meant the story of one of my favourite shepards could not continue. The treatment of her LI was so insulting and immersion breaking that her personal “arc” came to a grinding halt and she’s been stuck in a virtual limbo ever since.

And the thing is she wasn’t even my canon shep . My canon shep got her perfect romance with Garrus and ended her story with some semblance of hope. So why am I so mad if I’m primarily a Garrusmancer?

Because there was something about THIS shepard that I was very fond of. I wasn’t doing a “perfect” playthrough with her like I was with my canon shep.  The choices she made weren’t dependent on what would give me the best import but what would SHE as a character would do. Because of this she was more flawed, more gritty, more complex, she made hard choices that didn’t always have a rosy outcome. Most importantly, out of all my shepards she was the one I put most of my heart into “creating”, that’s why I loved playing her so much. Now I’m mad because the shepard I had put the most effort into (in terms of creating a personality and developing her character) has an incomplete story.  Thane was a big part of her story and now it wouldn’t do her character (or Thane) justice to continue playing if things remain as they are.

Yeah, my canon Shepard is a Mirandamancer. He ends up the best of all my Shepards, really. Destroys the Reapers, finds his lady, raises a bunch of rugrats and lives happily ever after. And my canon FemShep is a *tragic*Thanemancer who finds happiness with Kaidan. Both are great characters, and I love how their stories turned out.

But if Bioware never fixes the Jacob romance, I will hold it against them forever. I mean, I'll still buy their games. I enjoy them too much not to. But I wont forget that moment I played Jacob's ME3 mission, and realized that everything the leaks indicated about Jacob was true. That cuts pretty deep. Iloved Sonja, my Jacobmancer. She was harsh, she was ruthless, she tore through her enemieis with no pity. But Jacob with the first person to ask her how she felt about all of this. To think about her, and how she was doing. She openned up to somebody for the first time a long time. It was a beautiful moment for her. This badass renegade sniper was going all "Why me?", and tells her to buck the **** up and push back. That when times are hard is when it matters most to stay true to your path.

So in ME3, when Sonja Shepard finally has the chance to show some emotion, she would. And she looked forward to the day when she and Jacob could just take some time. No need to talk, just live. Then Bioware pulls this "Did you expect me to wait forever?" ****?

I dont always have complete confidence in Bioware's decisions. DA2 taught me that. But I never expected such horrible treatment of a character or a romance. I really didn't think Bioware was capable of such a travesty. Turns out they are capable of doign it. Twice in the same game, in fact. Oh well. Not the first time Ive been proven wrong. Won't be the last, either.

LOL I did actually think about it. I did! But there's this thing with a...friends...student loan and she fears for her passport if she ever flies back to the states.

Mmmmm Jello! They don't have proper jello here. Takes a miracle for it to set.

You have more strength than I do. I cant see my self playing anymore BioWare games in the furture, because even IF they managed to put out another amazing game like ME (which I highly doubt they will) I would always think, "why is this so good and ME3 was so bad... why?!" Also if they made another triliogy that was good, I would be afraid they would ruin it in the end. And if they didn't, it comes back to what I just said at the begining, "why couldn't ME3 been like this?".... Damn it BioWare!

Yeah, I know, but at least they won't be getting my money, and apparently that's more important than an established fanbase.

I would have to think long and very hard before I ever pick up another one of their games.I do understand exactly how you feel. If they ever made another trilogy I would worry that if I don't like the characters that they like they just get rid of them. This experience has taught me never to get invested in any game like this again. At least not any game from Bioware.
