Maybe he was just a replacement Thane, while the real Thane was on Kahje being cured..

Ok folks - try this thread out!

Take back the Love!  ME2 romances in ME3  (thanks to Hainkpe for the title!)

Just created it so we can discuss ALL inadequate loves and perhaps show BW that it isn't acceptable to treat ME2 LIs this way!

Aww... *blushes* Just doing my small part. Wish I could do more. ;)

So I was sitting in my room feeling sad when all of a sudden I had an epiphany.

Why would they go through the trouble of giving you a choice of having Kirrahe take Thane's place in the Kai Leng fight if Thane was going to end up dying either way from his disease?? If BioWare decided to kill him off the game, why not just have Thane be the only one to be able to stop Leng? Why spend the time to do that???

So my epiphany (I like using that word:P) was, maybe you can replace Thane in the citadel because...Thane will be available as an optional squad mate or be able to live through a DLC or something!!! Life Support is unoccupied, unchanged, and ready with his table and cup. Why leave it as it was for no purpose??

Also maybe that's why they re-used the LotSB letter from Thane since they have more new things on the way for Thane lovers. Maybe also the reason why there is a lack of dialogue from your other squad members about Thane and his death.

Therefore, that's why that have faith tweet from Mass Effect. Maybe there is a cure on the way!

I don't know if this has been discussed already, and if it has I apologize. I just want to have faith and keep some hope alive for our Thane! But if it's all just stuff I made up and it's not true, then at least I got some peace of mind for a while eventhough I'll get sad again.

Edit: spelling and added another sentence

My bro and I had come to the same conclusion. His femshep romanced Thane. Anywhos, something about it doesn't add up and the Thane romance seemed like an afterthought. I'm going to try hoping for a DLC, even though when I hoped the first time I was shot down bad. My mind is set on that either EA or Bioware were so greedy that they cut the rest of the Thane romance out of the game to sell it as a DLC. I won't be happy about it if that's true, but sadly I think I would buy it to get what I wanted from the game in the first place. Bastards. If this is true, they better release it soon before us fans become uninterested.

It also seems that the DLC can override the Thane part  simply because if you ignore going to the hospital he doesn't show up during the Kai Leng fight.

If this isn't true, then I will stick by what I have said before. If they spent one more year in development, the game would have turned out so much better. Just my opinion.

So I thought I would put up a new wish list.
*Note:  I admit to having little to no belief that these things will happen, but......take it as you will.

Reasonable changes to Thane romance (IMHO)

1) Picture of Thane in Shep's cabin.

2) Fix of animated/graphic issues with hand holding and kissing (especially the interupt kiss.  Mine was really wonky.)

3) Give us the damn Paramour Achievement.  It could be triggered simply by choosing the "private time" option.  Who cares if someone wants to get together with Kaiden or one of the ladies later.  Their choice, and it shouldn't negate those that wish to stay true to Thane.  And honestly, if I remeber correctly, the cheevo doesn't state specifically who you were with when you got it.  (admit I could be wrong on that, but again, who cares....)

4) Give us another letter from say Kolyat or the VS in regards to our involvement with Thane.  I figure this at least would be something to indicate that others saw our relationship with him, and give us a moment to believe that others care about Thane's passing.  I say letter since it would probably be to difficult to add in new dialogue scenes.  Throw us a bone.

5) Give us the proper flashback.....no default to LIARA!  How hard would it be to throw in a couple of old stills from ME2 for god sakes.  If need be, this community could easily provide them.....sheesh!

6) Add back any/all cut scenes (if any are to be had) involving Thane.  More screen time please!

As for somewhat unreasonable (but still wanted) wishes, I of course would love the following, but know there isn't a chance in purgatory of them happening.

1) New thoughtful dialogue from Shep.  More options so we can properly role play our Shepards  (she ain't mine anymore)

2) Get Thane on the Normandy.  Preferred if he stayed, of course, but even a visit.

3) OPTION to extend Thane's life and keep him alive even after fight with Kai Leng.

4) Actual dialogue scenes with sqadmates in regards to relationship with Thane and should he die, his death.

Again, I don't believe we will get any of this, but I think keeping our wish lists alive on this thread, may point out exactly what they could have done to honor a well loved ROMANCE character.  (emphasising the romance part since so many people think we are crazy for not likely his death scene and all.....)

That is all for now......thoughts?Posted Image

*Edit for Typos

Hahaha, perhaps the first picture isn't accurate for me...It would be more of a lingering sense of unease.

But the second picture. Too true!

I'd buy it.

My Broseph ManShep:  See, I told you getting yourself cloned would be a great idea!
Thane: You were rather unconcerned about the ethical implications.
ManShep: It's ok, cloned you isn't as awesome as real you anyway.
Thane: This is true.  I would've been able to easily disarm Kai Leng had I been there.  Apologies for my absence, but I thought two of me might induce panic.
ManShep: Or it'd get the ladies all hot and bothered.
Thane: That... seems to happen with alarming frequency.
ManShep: Now, then, let's go punch out a Reaper.  You can do that now that you're cured, yeah?
Thane: I believe you're confusing me with a thresher maw, though I agree with the sentiment.  *collarpop*

Hey, the flowchart posted from "Final Hours" is copyrighted, so...Maybe we should remove it so that the thread doesn't get shut down

Also, it was apparently created independently from Bioware. So, it doesn't have much significance to Thane, luckily enough

I completely agree, they could have closed off the room or boxed it up like they did with Jacob's room. The only thing that is missing from Thane's room is the window that looks out into engine room (the shades are closed) and his cot is gone. But if anyone can recall, Garrus' cot is missing too now in ME3.

Don't feel stupid for missing Thane. Alot of us became attach to him. I think the whole point is to have fun with it, even if it's a pixie. Nothing wrong with it, we all wanted a good romance. Look at the Liara and Kaiden-mancers... they wanted something more than what ME2 gave them. I believe at this point it's completely normal.

Not only did my shepard keep visiting the Life Support room but I brought her back to the hospital to end up staring out the window where Thane was originally. That's when I realized I needed to stop playing the game.
