Yeah, I'm writing two versions. The one that I'll release seperatly will be what should have happened if Thane was to die no matter what. The second version will be of my own story (ME: Aftermath) where Thane will live. (BTW, I'm not sure if the scalding hot tea thing makes sense. Anyone able to really verify on that for me?)

On EDI, I'm ok with her in ME3. I really don't think she's that much of a sexbot. In all honesty, I think people would be screaming "Sexbot" no matter what unless the body unless the bot itself wasn't human shaped. She wasn't great; she wasn't terrible; she was just good.

It would be better if she didn't have a ******.  There is no reason for a cyborg robot to have a ******.

I barely even noticed it on my first playthrough and still barely notice it when I play the games.

Then again, I don't take EDI on missions.

On ME2 going to Joker's cabin for a chat after missions, asking him about my crew and hearing him and EDI bickering was one of my favorite routines. On ME3 I could barely stand her.. Not because she was bad but because "ME2 EDI was gone, the humor was gone and I got a teenager asking me about loooooove instead. When my Sheppard was miserable in the love arena. UGH

Erm....She only asks about love once and that's on the Citadel. : / The other times are about moral questions like humans feeding the Reapers false information and ete.

Ya dunno, she annoyed me too much.. That "robot asks about feelings" has been done to death. And no one can beat Star Trek's Data on that role. Except maybe Voyager's Hologram Doctor and Seven of 9. She was a fan service character but she was very well done!

DATA!!! Love Brent Spiner. I'm one of those old geeks that used to go to Star Trek conventions. the last one I went to was Brent Spiner back in the mid '90's.

Sorry, just had a mouth breather moment...forgive me. As you were..........

I wasn't into Star Trek...until I met my Hubby,he is a Trekkie fan! He got me watching a few episodes with him...I think it was Star Trek Deep Space nine...I got hooked, loved it! Then I started watching The Next Generation....haha I was asking my future hubby all kinds of questions about Star Trek and he'd gladly answer them! ^^

Brent Spiner and only Brent Spiner was Great acting out as DATA! ;)

When I went to comicon in Calgary they had the old Star Trek cast there... which was cool to anyone who was a fan I am sure. Seeing Patrick Stewart was pretty cool. My boyfriend and best friend were over the moon, I follow them around and ask what episode Yoda shows up in and watch them implode. Small pleasures.

Also I absolutely adore EDI. She was such a sweetheart. Her argument with Javik, and her Bamter with the engineers.

I need some good Thane fic recs! I have read a couple lately and Thane has seemed ver out of character,

@ Fleshdress That had to be priceless to tease them like that lol! ^^
What kind of Thane fanfic to you have in mind...do like romance with *coughs* smut? or just plain romance?

Here are a couple of my favs if you want to check them out, they aren't that bad with Thane's character!
Take me to infinity!

Bathtime Rshara wrote this one! Even though it's a short story it's very good! ^^

There are some good fanfics of Thane and there are some bad ones too...where Thane seems so out of character and so is Femshep...I've read some fanfics where they write shepard out as a Psychotic, alcoholic,on the verge to kill herself biotch!...and that just ruins the story for me!

@Hyrule_Gal I loved Odo,loved how he could ahapeshift...so Awesome! I know this may seem weird but I really liked Quark....I don't know what exactly it was about him but I just loved that character! And let's not forget Worf ♥♥♥ ....teehee had to do that! I'm glad they put him in the show!

Even though I don't really like Thane, I still think he should be able to be saved.

But then again, you're pretty much trying to bring back someone from death itself. A cure is possible...maybe.

Thank you! Image IPB

I don't know what the heck they were smoking when they wrote Thane's part in this game but taking our LI...our favorite character away from us without having an option to save him is just downright cruel!

I say anything can be posssible in this game....I mean come on ressurecting shepard, curing the genophage....yeah I think it's possible to save Thane and cure him! I just hope we will get that option in a future DLC!

I just got done with playing the coup in my modded for science game save where I killed Jacob and Thane.

And I'm ticked all over again.

First, the showdown with TrollNinja actually made sense with Thane out of the picture. Shepard and friends don't stand around like idiots like when the TrollNinja and Thane fight. Kirrahe sacrifices himself and makes the scene emotional. And what really angers me is that Shep seemed to have more empathy here for Kirrahe than she did for Thane! She actually talks to Kirrahe for a minute!

There was no reason shoehorn Thane into this scene at all. It now looks like they really forgot about Thane, decided they need to put him in somewhere, and placed him in the coup so you can save war asset points.

And remember, this is from a person who didn't romance Thane. I'm so irritated right now.

@Fleshdress - I have read a lot of good Thane fanfics, but the number one on my favorite list is The ThirtySix Stratagems of Wáng Jìngzé by Mussimm.

I also recommend you A Dance of Minds by R'Shara & The Oracle of Delphi by Hern.

Enjoy :D

@ZeCollectorDestroya - Thank you for your support <3

That's very much appreciated, thank you! It's good that someone who does not like Thane thinks there should be an option. I think we don't even need Thane to be cured once and for all, just saved and prolonged life would be enough.

@Fleshdress, you can try Synodic Day. This is my favourite, from Thane's perspective and very well written, takes place in ME2. The only flaw is that it's not complete yet, although the author claims that she has all the story written somewhere, so some patience is needed. I'm currently waiting for chapter 19.

@DineBoo, it looks as though they planned something else for Thane, then cut it out and quickly placed him in that scene. At the beginning I thought he will be added in a DLC later, but now it seems that they just decided he and is fans were not importnt at all... :(

That's how my first playthrough went dineboo. I didn't bump into Thane the first time around so this was my first experience with that scene. A salarian STG saving a salarian councillor , it made perfect sense. It didn't enter into my head at all that, that scene would play out any differently. You can imagine my puzzlement when I was 3/4 into the game and had not seen Thane yet. Turns out he was dead off screen the whole time while I was waiting for a hanar/drell related mission to pop up Image IPB

So I didn't have that "cool! FIGHT SCENE!" reaction the masses had when they saw Thane go all matrix on kai leng. This is because I had already seen a more quiet, dignified, logical and in character version of that scene that didn't look SILLY.

If they wanted that Thane fight with TrollNinja to make a bit more sense they should have had the ninja put up a kinetic barricade they prevented Shep and friends from getting to them. Then you should have saw in the background Shep's crew working on disarming it as they fought.

But Thane shouldn't have been in that scene at all. I just don't see Thane dying for the Salarian councilor. Thane taking a bullet for Shep, especially one in a romance, I could see.

I'm so annoyed I have no choice with the matter as Thane dies regardless of what you do here. If I want a scene that makes sense, Thane dies of screen. If I want to talk to Thane, he still dies. Argh.

ETA: I'm also annoyed that Kirahhe, a cool but MINOR character, is rendered more important than Thane, a ME2 squaddie, because he provides those silly war asset points.

That's how I feel about Thane's part in this game....it's like they were thinking "Hmmmm we are gonna screw over some fans but whom? Aha! Why not the Thane fans...Yes we did give them hope of curing Thane but who f****ing cares?!"

It doesn't matter wether you talk to Thane or not....he dies! Image IPB.....A$$holes!!!!!! Image IPB

Yah the fight scene actually doesn't even look cool anymore, I just sit and cringe through it cause it is impossible to handle watching every person but Kai Leng act like a complete moron in that scene, yes even Thane. Also, when did my sniper... one renowned for his sniping skills, get such awful aim? I felt like Mushu in Mulan; "You missed? How could you miss! He was three feet in front of you!" I mean Kai Leng is just laying there... why is no one shooting him? if you absolutely have to arrest him two to the knees and voila, incapacitated soldier. *blech* If I didn't have Garrus I would have returned the game cause I play solely for the romances and I have abandoned all my Thane romancing Sheps. My friend is just playing through ME2, she loves Thane, wants to romance him so bad, told here not to touch that hot mess with a ten foot pole.

Edit: Btw, thank you for the recs.<3

One part of my addiction to Thane is his voice. Love it. I never played polish language version of Mass Effect, and I don't intend to do so. Once, I checked how Thane was dubbed in ME2 - that sounded awful, it wasn't Thane anymore.  Keythe Farley is amazing, what a shame he had only few lines in ME3.

Mmm Farley's voice <3

And as such I'll agree part of my adoration for Thane does stem from Farley's voice.
And I always chuckle to myself whenever I hear Fortack/Adrien Victus speak :P

Heck, when I was having my worst "Thane feels" my brother tried to cheer me up by watching an episode of a TV-series where Farley cameod. It was hilarious to hear his lines.
