Okay, then there's this...why in the fecking seven levels of hell do people think Kolyat is some kind of replacement for Thane? Why? In what universe did Kolyat show himself capable of being anything but a places stop for Shep's fist? Much less a one-size-fits-all assassin replacement. FFS he's been spending time with monks, not assassins.

I never minded Kolyat being "whiny" tbh, since the reasoning behind his actions are explained; they may not be stated outright, but it's not that hard to read between the lines in this case.

But ditto on Kolyat ≠ Thane

They are two very different characters, not to mention Kolyat's skills aren't anywhere near Thane's on a battlefield.

Kolyat as squadmate? No.
Kolyat as L.I? No. (A big giant, No-No if Thane was previously romanced, since imo, that would just be...ew)

I have a soft spot for Kolyat....AS AN 18-19yr old KID!! Sheesh.....NOT a squadmate (no real training, unless you are making it up in your own headcanon), and certainly NOT a LI. >.< (all in my opinion) I mean, for the love of Pete; he's a messed up kid of one of your squadmates - possibly your LI (as he is for us), not to mention Shep is in her 30's, and the player can be like some of us more...ahem....mature ladies/gents. I suspect a larger age gap in some of those players who think Kolyat would make a good LI.

Kolyat is not really that important and Thane got more than a few other squadmates.

Anyways, I think that's what it comes do to. He is the KID of your love interest. Not some random trampoline Drell. And he's certainly not an assassin.

Thane's convos. plus P:C has more lines than Grunt, Zaeed, Kasumi, Morinth, and Samara.
