@Areskeith - Here is a LINK that might be useful.  You will need to scroll through a bit of it.  I tried to find the original Reaperized Drell/Hanar/Elcor/Volus thread, but I couldn't find it.  You might check out deviantart for more pictures.  Hope it helps.

@Seiffer - Voted, but of course.  GEARS!!!  WARLOCK!!  Where are you guys!!  Image IPB

Hello everyone!

Remember that playthrough for science I was doing with Thane and Jacob dead? Well, I reached the Cerberus scientist mission. Guess what?

The mission makes a ton more sense without Jacob.

First, Bioware didn't even give Jacob new animations for the mission. His animations (running over to the dead woman) is exactly the same as the scientist who took his place, even down to getting shot and staying in cover. No wonder Jacob didn't use his biotics. BW would have had to do extra work!

Brynn is a ton more likeable and I like that she didn't trust Shep until they had killed another wave of Cerberus troops.

No mention of Jacob at all. The same as Thane. No one remembers him. And other the lost of Jacob's war assets, there are no negative impact to the mission.

Jeez, what the heck did the writers have against Thane and Jacob? I hate that my game makes more sense and a lot more playable with them gone.

Anyhoo...

I miss Koylat. How come they couldn't have Shepard check up on him after the coup attempt, or if a loyal Thane didn't survive the sucide mission? The one conversation, mostly about the VS, sucked.

Oh, and I don't think anyone can get any weirder than Austin Texas. We're so out there lol.

@DineBoo

*Deep Sigh*

Goddammit!

I figured things were bad (well bad in the sense that Thane/Jacob absence= a more logical narrative) if Jacob was absent but, damn...*Shakes fist at BW*

And yeah, I miss Kolyat too, it would have been nice to have a proper convo with him, not to mention proper conversations with Thane that didn't primarily focus on the VS and Kepral's Syndrome and ended with an awkward make-out scene in the hospital.

I'd take the latter over the former naturally, but I wouldn't mind seeing Kolyat again.

And pfft...us Swedes can lose our marbles when you least expect it. We're just peaceful and passive on the surface :P

@Emeraldfern: Yeah, it's real obvious they shoehorned Jacob and Thane into their missions. And it's funny that Jacob's mission plays better with him dead even though he's alive by default.

People complain about Miranda and Jack but at least their presence impacted their missions. And led to consequences if you ignored them or let them die in the suicide mission. Jacob and Thane get nothing if they're not alive.

They could have easily made a romanced Thane like Jack's, yet BW decided to go the stereotypical route and have him cheat and be a baby daddy. And Thane? You knew he was dieing. Sigh.

Tell me again I had everyone live in ME2? Why did I take time to make them loyal? Why put in all the effort if BW was just going to treat them like this? And make the game more playable if you didn't have them alive?

re: Kolyat I agree, I simply do not understand why an intelligent person would think having Kolyat become a squaddie in place of Thane would make any sense whatsoever...
...that said, the ME3 being what it is, that stupidity would probably have fit right in.

I do think Kolyat was justified in his angst... but was taking it too far by signing up for a hit, that he did makes him a tad annoying to me, he always ends up getting paragon disarmed by my Shepards. It would have been nice to hear more from him, but it would have been much nicer to hear more and see more of Thane.

edit:

@Dineboo  ...it hurts to think about how much time I wasted in ME2 only to have my choices disregarded...

Bloody hell.

And, here I  thought it wasn't possible for me to hate BW more right now.

Going to have to tame my inner grumpy before I  write today's Focus Friday, lol....

@Dineboo - Boo bw, but something I had already suspected. I never made it even half way through the game, but I did start the game with two different Shepards; one was my very first F!Shep, and the other was a brand new Shep made specifically in me3. What I was seeing (or not seeing) didn't seem to have much impact on play. Usually just some missing dialogue from an NPC or squaddie, or a replacement figure. But, since I never finished it, I wasn't sure if that road continued. Unfortunately, your post confirms that it does. Pity. :(

@giftfish - I'll be grumpy with you..... ;P

@Ghost -- Oh, I have no doubt about that. What I doubt is them fixing my favorite green assassin, so my FemShep can have any semblance of a happy ending.

I know, stupid me, right? Wanting a happy ending? Seeing as that I saved my entire ME2 crew on the "suicide mission". Apparently that was too much to expect. >.>

@Ghost -- You know what's better than a flashback (that wasn't there in the vanilla cut)? HAVING HIM ALIVE. Ahem. Sorry, didn't mean to shout, there.

@Coldi -- Thankee, sai.

I really need to start writing these "Focus Fridays" on like...Monday. Every Friday I spend half the day writing a 2000-3000 word essay, and it's beginning to cramp my style, lol...

@mnomaha -- It's all good. I'm "n7petiole" over there, on twitter, and on dA.   I'm "moho" on HTL.

I put most of the blog together, do the Quotes of the Week, Focus Fridays, and some other random stuff (maintain the galleries, update tags/categories, etc)

I already approved your comment :)

hmmm....hey gift. Tried to post a comment, but the account site seems to be acting funny. Or I am just completely lame. Which is a high possibility. :D
