I think the problem, which seems obvious, is the lack of Role Playing that people can do in this game. I read some of the comments on the "Are you satisfied with the Romances" thread, and whether they were or not, I noticed most complaints were more about the sex scene (or lack there of), or not enough screen time with said characters (even the Big 5 LI's). But my biggest complaint is not having the ability to role play my character in a romance with MY chosen LI. We ALL should have been fighting for that from the beginning (and not just rping the LI's, but all relationships, and quest options). I keep going back to those that think that Thane's presence in ME3 was good enough, or Jacob 'getting on with his life', is fine, so we shouldn't complain. But my question to them, is why are YOU NOT complaining?? Anytime you dismiss, or limit other players choices, you are cutting out the Role Playing aspect of the game. Doesn't matter if YOU don't choose to rp things the same way I do, just having the option broadens the RPing experience. And it certainly does NOT negate your ability to RP the way you wish (i.e. choosing the LI's you want, playing out quests differently, reacting in different ways to other NPC's, ect....) Options are what make these type of games great. They encourage replay, and sales to DLC, expansions, merchandise. Bah, I'm tired.

I think for some people as long as it isn't their LI of choice they just don't care. I think some wanted him to die because they thought it would give more dialogue and screentime to their LI, but I didn't really notice that for anyone except maybe Liara.
I would have never wished this kind of treatment on anyone else. I honestly don't know how someone can look at what Thane and Jacob recieved and think it was ok.

I feel so bad for Jacob fans. I feel bad for us too, but at least Thane acknowledges our relationship with him. It's completely mind boggling to fathom the reasons why they would do this to their fans.

@JECW - I'm afraid you have probably hit the nail on the head.  Just wish people didn't have to take pleasure from other's disappointment (heartache).

@stwu - Too true.  Justice for all, dammit!

Thank you Thanemancers for that lovely tidbit on Vega!  I never got that far in the game, but that will be good fodder for my PDS.  Lovely!

Since there's been talk of people wearing green bracelets fro Thane (I don't remember which topic it was exactly) I've been looking at some possibilities. I've found one company that seems to have a good price for those nifty silicone ones, but the big question is : how many people would want one? Exactly.
They knew that the VS would be back in the third game. They had nothing to worry about.
The biggest and most important difference is that their characters came back in the third game. We don't get a fourth game.

Let's hope we can get some dlc for Thane. The fact that their actively asking us what they should fix is a good sign. I just hope the majority of you have gotten over there. Thane needs you.

I know   And I agree, the fact that ME3 is the last game makes it so that mistakes made with the LIs in ME3 are irreparable short of DLC.

I never romanced Thane myself, but I too believe the romance in ME3 was not up to par. He deserved so much more, and so did y'all for loving him so much. He really is an amazing character, I want to see him treated better.

Given how Jessica Merizan wants civil and statistic feedback, it would be a good way to get the word out about the ME2 romances.

He is interesting and deserves more than the few, yet heroic scenes he got in ME3.

I've been working on a storyboard-like comic thing and am now thinking to really make this to put in the book

I don't know if this one was addressed, but I had a super weird one happen in my game. I romanced Thane in ME2 and he died during the ending. I kept it as canon, seeing as I romanced and killed off Kaiden in the previous game(My Shepard is one of tragic romances, or should have been...) but when I got to ME3 it didn't import my face properly! Well, that wasn't such a big deal, I just rebuilt my face, tried one of the new hair colors, and got to playing.

So I get to the Citadel... and Thane's standing in the hospital.

I distinctly recall the poor guy getting aced on the Collector station, and then soon after I blew the thing up. Yet here he is, alive, still suffering from Kepral's, and acting like he hasn't died. I proceed with the game and he ends up fighting Kai Leng and dying on a bed in the lame fashion you all describe.

But he was already dead! Super dead! I don't... I can't.... why was he still alive? Was it just my face that didn't import properly? No other quests in my whole playthrough seemed to have shown any signs of importing wrong... Maybe Bioware didn't account for the possibility that someone would romance him and get him killed in the last mission? I'm having Dragon Age 2 flashbacks where my love interest Anders, whom I killed personally, was stated to be travelling with me during the story recap in the end!

I don't... I don't know if I can buy games from Bioware anymore.

Ummm...wow that is just odd.  I would never be able to try and recreate that since I've never killed Thane.  Couldn't do it, he was the only one with my self-induced plot armor in 2...also have never broken up with him, I couldn't stand the thought of hurting his feelings.  

I'd like to know if anyone did experience what you did.  I don't know if I've sworn off BioWare but I sure as heck won't be pre ordering anything from them again.  I'll be waiting it out to check user reviews and then search the used bin after all this.  I still can't replay these games.  In my head, Thane is still in my cabin at the end of 2.  Three never happened...or is just a drell licking induced hallucination.

In my first playthrough Thane died in the Collector's base too. My face didn't import in ME3 too, but I never saw Thane... Did you get his letter that asks you to see him at the hospital? I didn't in any case.
So I don't think this would normally happen, unless Thane was there and I just didn't notice him, but that seems highly unlikely to me.
