They had damn well better make a hotfix for the Thane relationship counting for the cheevo then. I don't have to do the tango with him, I just want affirmation that the relationship mattered.

Thane didn't end the relationship though. He died. He still loved her and she (well, my shep at least) still loved him. I guess until death do us part indeed.

Does anyone know why the extended dialogue was cut? It couldn't have been because Thane was taking up too much time in the storyline. Was there some difficulty animating the scene? What happened?
I just don't understand.
From what I have seen, and I've finished the game, they had problems animating anything. I've never seen so many collision/graphics problems in a single game. What the hell were they doing for those three extra months? It certainly wasn't improving the story or fine-tuning anything.

What.
I mean, I'm happy for those who wanted to romance Kelly, but she gets the Paramour achievement and neither of the full ME2 male LIs did?
I think my brain just broke.

has bioware made any comment yet towards the failed ME2 romances and endings?
Other than Weekes saying they forgot about how Thane's death might impact the player, I don't think anyone has mentioned it.

I bet Weekes is regreting saying it. His comment is floating around everywhere here and on other websites.

I kind of feel bad for him. I'm sure his colleagues are going 'WHYYYYYYY WOULD YOU TELL THEM THAT?!'

When I got to the Kai Leng fight on Thessia, Garrus responded to the "Your friend Thane died like a coward!" and Garrus shot back "I'll tear his head off!" I promptly reloaded. Still there. And then I vanguard charge/nova'd that bastard. Grrrrrrr...

That is ridiculous.
Kelly gets the paramour achievement but Thane and Jacob don't.

Like many people on this forum, I'm heartbroken. Especially about how sidelined Thane was. The dialogue lines were so inadequate. I kept going back to the hospital after missions expecting more dialogue and scenes to open up. Why would they feel a romanced Thane's death scene didn't require more than what MaleShep and Sheps who didn't romance him got? Also, in my 100% playthrough not one person ever mentined Thane again except for Kai Leng! I also was upset Kolyat appears for only a brief time and then we never see or hear from him again. It's definitely been a traumatic experience, my Shepard spent a lot of time standing in the empty Life Support room staring at the mug and in front of the memorial wall.
Also, whether you agree or not with the possibility of a cure for Thane having been included the fact that Joker apparently is fine in almost all endings regardless of his need for daily medical attention, the Quarians immune systems being fixed by Geth, and other examples makes me wonder just how "necessary" and "realistic" his demise really was to the story.
I'd only add that if other character's stories, such as Tali for example, were based on the choices Shepard makes then there is no reason Thane should not have had the same options available in his. Like utaker1988 mentioned, PS3 owners would have met both characters in ME2 so no reason to consider either less of a character. Yet Tali's story can end happily with her on her home planet having her immune system fixed or it can end tragically with her jumping off a cliff. Those choices should have been available to Thane's story. Let us decide, which is what Mass Effect was always supposed to be about.
It's also a tragedy Shepard and Thane never saw a desert together.

if anyone does do this, it would probably be wise to make it a group centered around how lacking ME2 romances were all together.

I.e. I did noch recognize that Thane giving up and just sitting there waiting for his final breath was totally out of charakter when you romanced him. How could I forget about this - must have been because my Shep was so excited to meet him again and was nervous like a teenage girl having its first rendezvous:wub:.
One thing I would like to add o all the other hints that Thane should have a chance to be cured or simply to be in good condition in ME 3 is this: In ME 2 he tells Shepard, that for the next 9-12 months he will be fine and his illness will not affect his performance. So, if ME 3 is taking place only 6 months after ME 3 - why is the Kepral syndrome now in the final state? There should be at least 3 months until the Kepral syndrome becomes worse or worst. Even the dossier in the LotS tells us, that Thane's condition is not too bad.

Did you guys hear the extended version of
his death scene?! It's much better than what we were given!. I'm beyond
angry that it was cut from the game.
Here you go.
If you're interested
Unfortunately the link to the website works, but on the page I cannot klick the link for the extended version. Would someone please tell me, what is in the extended lines (here or via PM)? I really would like to know about this.

He died as hero after saving the councillor. He fights hard despite he was really weakened by his illness at this time.
It was not bad storytelling imho because his death induced feelings of sadness and at the same time it arouses burning hate at Kai Leng and Cerberus.
Now I will go Rambo on them if I see this scum again. They will pay for it. Just wait!
But I admit I missed a discussion between Shepard and her friends about Thane's death, too.
